======1. Update History ======v.1.0 - 6/14/2011

======2. Cases ======The game opens, as any good noire product does, with a soliloquy. When it decides to end...

======Beat Cop ======faqs..com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 1/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs 2.1 - Upon Reflection ======Once you gain control of your vehicle make your way to the yellow marking on the map. Make your way forward down the alley, keeping your eyes on the right. When you see some crates under the light go over and examine them to get a chance to examine some objects. Examining the newspaper will give you a bit of background on what's going on in the game world. Keep your eyes out for these as they do add to the game.

- Walk to the back of the alley to examine the bloodstain. After you've looked at that turn to the left and into the alleyway.

- Just a few steps in examine the area to find the gun is on a roof via a reflection in an open window.

- Walk through this alleyway and in the next area climb the drainpipe as the game instructs.

- Pick up the gun from the floor and examine it. When he notes the make and model of the weapon tilt it so you can examine it again. This leads to him examining the bullets for how many were fired. We can put the gun down now.

Leave the alley, get back into your car and start driving. The gun store is only a short distance away. When you get inside you will be given a ledger of those that bought Smith and Wesson firearms and can compare it to what you have on hand. Just in case you forgot they will remind you that it's a model 27, pearl handled S&W. Examine the book for it and select that option to find his name and home address. We're off!

This one is a bit of a drive and you'll want to drive carefully. Damaging cars or people can cost you rank and money so you'll want to avoid that. When you reach the location you'll automatically get out of your car again so cross the street and head inside. Examine the mailboxes to learn what apartment he lives in and then head upstairs. When you try to enter the apartment you will knock and a scene will ensue.

This will be your first taste of fighting so follow the on-screen tutorials to knock this guys lights out. It's pretty easy to do actually. When he's been downed you can end this level by examining the book hidden in his top drawer.

======2.2 - Armed and Dangerous ======This is a quick and dirty mission. You're going to start of by taking a shotgun out of the tunk of the police car and then storming the bank. There are about six perps here and they're all easily taken down so long as you aim high. By shooting them in center mass (torso) you will take them down in one or two shots. It may help to swap to the pistol when you're dealing with the ones in the rear of the bank as they take a bit more precise shooting to take down.

======2.3 - Warrants Outstanding ======Yay for another training mission! This time you're going to learn how to properly pursue someone. Basically all you need to do is hold down the run button and use the analog stick to get yourself over and around obstacles. The only thing that really can trip you up is the fire escape. Even though it looks like you should be using left, right or whatever to navigate it controls as the drainpipe climbing does - up or down is all that matters. At the top you get into another brawl that isn't hard at all so long as you use the counterattacks to drop this dumbass in short order.

======2.4 - Buyer Beware ======You start off investigating a murder in broad daylight.

- First things first, examine the body and check his right jacket pocket. This requires that you go down and to the right without going so far you reach for his arm. Examine the paper that you pull out fully and then put it back. You can poke around at him a bit more but there's no more evidence on his body. faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 2/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs

- A short distance away from his left hand are a batch of shell casings. Check these out to get all the evidence from the scene.

- Examine the garbage can to find an FN Browning that's been discarded.

- Walk over to the man in orange, the one who spoke to you at first. He tells you about a girl he saw run into the shoe store.

- Now head inside of the shop and speak to Clovis Galleta. This is yet another tutorial where the game wants us to put two and two together a little while teaching us how to handle the rest. - Her first statement is a lie. Select the "Layaway Voucher" to prove this. - She gives you a bit more information. Start out by asking her about who the killer was. Respond with doubt to this to get more information. - Lastly ask her about how many shots were fired. Respond to this with truth to get the last bit of information out of her that you can.

- Now it's time to move out. Set Eaglesons gun store as your destination and drive on over there. The owner will confirm who the perp is as well as the fact that he recently had his weapon serviced.

- Drive over to Hartfields Jewelry and speak to the salesman. He will make a break for it and you're going to have to chase him. As you enter the park area you will be told to shoot the perp, yeah don't do that. It'll cause you to fail the case. Instead just aim it at the suspect until the circle that appears as your reticule fills up. When it fills all the way up you will fire your gun up in the air (you couldn't do that without the reticule?) and the man will give up, allowing you to arrest him.

That's the end of that. The game moves on to the police station where you are given the chance to interrogate Kalou. This isn't very hard so long as you've gotten all of the evidence that's available. Keeping what you've learned in mind will make the interrogation very easy. - His first statement, as we know is a lie. Call him on that. Use the fact that he was positively identified here. - Next up his statement is kind of a lie but we don't have any specific evidence to use so we call doubt on that.

And that's it. The mission is over and you are looking at a promotion.

======Traffic Desk ======2.5 - The Driver's Seat ======We're now on the Traffic Desk, working on what one would think to be fairly minor cases. Your first case is taking place in a freight depot where a car has been found with blood on the interior. Drive yourself over there to start up this case.

- Speak to the Coroner who will make a quip about the trunk. - Open the trunk and examine the paper to find out that he bought a live pig. - Examine the interior of the car. - Go to the front of the car and examine the glasses. You're going to want to look at the words on the side of the frame. Then pick up the wallet and look at the ID and the picture. - Next go to the left of these items to find a bloody pipe. Examine the brand name on the side of the pipe. - Now it's time to interrogate Nate: - Purpose at scene: Truth. - Knowledge of Adrian Black: Truth. - Contents of the wallet: Doubt. - Bloodstained pipe found: Truth. - Speak to the officer on scene before getting into the car.

- Drive on over to the Black's residence. - Speak to Mrs. Black. She mentions a new water heater so lets go take a look at that water heater. - Go out the kitchen door, turn to the right and go along the side of the house where you will find a half-finished water heater installation. To fix the thing the straight orange pipe goes in the left top hole, the curved orange pipe goes in the top right, the L shaped grey one goes on the left and the faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 3/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs last one goes on the right top hole. - Examine the Cavanagh's matchbook on the kitchen counter. Open it up to find out more information. You can go to the phone in the entryway to get the address for Cavanagh's Bar at this point. - Examine the InstaHeat receipt and InstaHeat flyer on the kitchen table. - Go into the first bedroom and you will find a glasses case on a dresser. Open it up to confirm it's a match for the glasses at the scene. - Next pick up the picture and then examine it further to find a concealed message inside of the picture. - Look in the closet to find a train ticket to Seattle. - Now it's time to speak to Mrs. Black. - Slaughterhouse Receipt: Truth. - Alilbi for Mrs. Black: Truth. - Cavanagh's Bar: Truth. - Location of Adrian Black: Truth. - Stenzel Glasses Case: Truth. - Picture signed by "Nicole": Lie. Use Concealed message as evidence.

- Drive on over to Cavanagh's now. Speak to the barkeep to be directed to Frank Morgan hanging out in the back. Interview time! - Link to abandoned vehicle: Lie. Receipt for a live hog. - Location of Adrian Black: Doubt. - Now you can either arrest him or let him go.

- Lastly we're driving over to Morgan's apartment. While you're driving on over you will be told about the swine blood being found at the scene of the crime. This is only gotten if you properly examined the car during the first scene. Just make sure that you manually drive there so that you don't miss this one.

- When you arrive at the apartment building examine the mailboxes to figure out which apartment is Morgans and go to the door. This leads to a chase with the not so spry Adrian Black. This is impossible to fail so no worries.

Case closed!

======2.6 - A Marriage Made in Heaven ======A hit and run although that guy looked like he pretty much hammered out of his mind. This one seems interesting.

- Go over to the body and examine it. Search both jacket pockets to find his wallet, with his ID, and a life insurance policy. - Examine the blood trail, the impact splatter and the tire tracks. - Search the alley, notably the upright garbage can near the dumpsters, to find a bloody knife. - Now it's time to speak to Shannon Perry. - Eyewitness Report: Truth. - Suspect Vehicle Description: Truth. - Argument Overheard: Doubt. - With that done do NOT go speak to the patrons just yet. Inside of the bar go straight ahead to the pay phone and call dispatch to run the license plate. This is very important.

- Now go inside of the bar and speak to the bartender, Dudley Lynch. - Hit and Run Incident: Doubt. - Association with victim: Truth. - Argument overheard in bar: Doubt. - Joint business venture: Doubt.

- Now drive over to the Shelton residence. After a stake out you will see the perp who proceeds to tear off in his vehicle. Now if you're going for a five star rating this mission is a nightmare. You need to pursue him here. If you are able to ruin his car then you can actually force him to surrender but if you fail to do so then you are going to have to pursue him all the way to Union Station. There you can either tackle him or use your gun to make him surrender. With him in custody let's go talk to the grieving widow.

- Drive over to the Pattison residence and speak to Mrs. Pattison. - Hit and run incident: Doubt. - Nature of argument: Doubt. - Relationship with Leeroy Sabo: Lie. Insurance letter found on the corpse. - Before leaving the house use the phone in the nearby rom to check your faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 4/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs messages. You have a call from the Central Morgue so head on over there. - We get to drive back over to the Pattison residence now. This ends with you trying to chase down Sabo. If you want to get the five stars you need to bring him in alive and that's easier said than done. What you need to do is try this chase a few times until you can stay as close to him as possible. After crossing the street and rounding the corner get your gun aimed at him, strafing to the left as you do so. If you're lucky the meter will fill just before he gets out of the alley and you won't get shot by him. If this fails quit to the main menu and then resume the game from there to try again.

*NOTE: If you didn't find the knife on your first visit to the crime scene then things change up a bit. You will head on over to Ray's Cafe to look for the weapon after visiting the morgue. Go into the alley and pull out the knife, then go into the bar to speak to Leeroy. He fires on you with a shotgun before running off. This chase goes much the same as the above one and it wraps the case up in basically the exact same way.

======2.7 - The Fallen Idol ======When starting this mission you're going to have to drive to the top of the hill and then walk to the crime scene. Don't bother speaking to Mrs. McAfee as she isn't much help without evidence to discuss. - Walk down the side path, marked by the yellow police barriers, and head over to the car. On the trunk is a pair of underwear, examine them. - Put down the underwear and pick up the purse, reading the letter Phelps pulls out. Make sure to scroll down before putting it away. - Now speak to the coroner and he will give you a prop shrunken head. Examine this and then put it down. - Now drive up to the top of the hill and speak to the police officer. Then you can interrogate Mrs. McAfee. - Doping Allegation: Doubt. - Injured female passenger: Lie. Torn underwear. - Fake shrunken head: Doubt. - Suspect "Mark Bishop": Doubt.

- Drive on over to Central Receiving Hospital to speak to the other witness, one Jessica Hamilton. - Before speaking to Jessica talk to the doctor nearby the door before going in. He will mention about her having been sexuall abused. - Go inside the room but don't talk to her just yet. Instead pick up her chart and read through it until you get a clue update. Now we can speak to her. - Crash incident report: Lie. Underwear. - Contact with parents: Lie. Letter from mother. - Association with Bishop: Doubt. - Evidence of criminal abuse: Truth.

- With that done you get a new objective: Tailing June Ballard (McAfee). This isn't that difficult to do. Try not to get too close or stray too far even going so far as to brake in the middle of the street if they stop at a light. - Follow her to the cafe and when you see her car stop drive up. Go up to the doorway and use the button to stick to the wall, watching her. When you see her get on the phone walk in and go to the second booth, pressing the button to use the newspaper as cover. Listen to her conversation for more info. - Drive over the apartment at the hotel although you will be pressed by the dispatcher to hurry it up but when you arrive there's nothing going on. Speak to the clerk, go up the elevator and enter the apartment. Clue time! - In the red bedroom you can find a $20,000 check. - Outside of the bedroom examine the saddle. - Examine the movie set replica in the room near the saddle. - There's a photo near the movie set replica to examine. - In the living room you can find a picture of a prop store to examine. - Now it's time to speak to Gloria Bishop about what she knows. - Domestic disturbance: Doubt. - Whereabouts of Bishop: Truth. - Check for $20,000: Lie. Use the check you found in the bedroom. - Abuse of Jessica Hamilton: Doubt. - Before leaving the apartment use the phone on the nearby table to find the address for Silvern Screen Props.

- Drive on over to Silver Screen Props and head on inside. Follow Mr. Hopgood to the sound stage and take a look around. - Search near the chaise to find Chloral Hydrate on a shelving unit. faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 5/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs - Examine the mirror to find out that there is a secret room. - Exit the building and go along the side, near the dumpsters to find a prop background acting as a secret door. Examine it to kick it open. - On the work bench near this secret door you can find a prop shrunken head mold, telling you where the heads are coming from. - Go into the secret room and examine the film reel on the shelves near the sword. This gives you the address of a film set. - Examine the film canister on the nearby desk to find Jessica Hamilton's casting couch session is missing. - Now it's time to speak to Marlon Hopgood. - Association with Mr. Bishop: Lie. Chloral Hydrate. - Whereabouts of Bishop: Truth. - Relationship with Ballard: Lie. Empty film canister. - Evidence of blackmail Lie. $20,000 check.

When that's done you head back outside. Some men will intimate that they'd like you to sell out Bishop in exchange for "gratitude" from Guy McAfee. Things take a turn for the worst and a gunfight ensues. You can either stand your ground and gun down these two mooks and the pair of reinforcements or you can speed off which results in a rolling gunfight with them. Your choice. With that all done set your destination as the 'Jungle Drums' Set.

- What follows is your basic foot chase. You don't need to tackle this schmo or even make him surrender with your gun. When you point the gun at him or get to the end of the path he surrenders on his own. - Now you have to escort him out of this place. Luckily there is help in the form of convenient red barrels. Every gamer knows that means explosions so use those to kill hard to reach enemies or just blow up guys hiding behind cover. It's very effective for clearing a path. Try to loot a rifle from the bodies as you go as it will make killing these guys much easier. - When you reach the ground level you will see a man on an upper level with a bunch of red barrels. Don't bother with the guys on the ground, shoot at the barrels and make the set collapse on those unlucky idiots. This clears the area and leaves just a few more men between you and the exit. Easy enough if you've got the rifle as any individual body shot has a good chance of killing these goons.

======Homicide Desk ======2.8 - The Red Lipstick Murder ======After chit chatting with your new partner head on over to the crime scene. - Look at the foot prints and you will see one that's white instead of dark. Examine this to gain the shoe print clue. - You could speak to the coroner but this doesn't seem necessary. Go over to the woman's belongings and examine the bag. This nets you the lipstick clue. - Go to the left of the purse to find a puzzle item on the floor. When you pick it up you basically have to line up the continents pictured on this globe. It's basically impossible to fail but turning the rows left, right and right from the bottom up completes it faster. This shows it to be a candle from the Bamba Club. - Now it's time to deal with the body. Yeesh. - Look at the left hand and examine the top part of the hand to notice the missing ring from her finger. - Tilt her face to the right and examine the blunt force trauma. - Examine the markings on her stomach to bring up dialogue after you exit out of examining the corpse.

- Drive on over to the Bamba Club and walk inside. The bartender, Garret Mason, will start speaking to you. He directs you to the back of the house where the owner is currently relaxing. - Suspect seen with victim: Truth. - Ring stolen from victim: Doubt. - Knowledge of husband: Doubt. - Head on over to the pay phones near the reception desk and report the license plate number you got from getting the first question correct.

- Drive on over to the Henry's household and examine the scene. - Go to the back door and examine the broken window for the forced entry clue. - Examine the refrigerator right next to the broken window to find a paper with information on the husbands location. - In the dining room you can find a female shoe on the ground. It's between the faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 6/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs table and the window on the floor. - Go into the bedroom and examine the picture frame to get an idea as to what the stolen ring looked like. Also examine the jewelry box while you're there. - Leave the house and go to the next door neighbors home. The home on the left has a woman out back you can speak to.

- After you've kicked in Jacob's door go over to the counter that seperates the dining room and kitchen and examine the pad. You must use the pencil to shade in enough of the letter to be able to read it. - Next walk into his bedroom and examine the shoes inside of his suitcase. - With those two things done we can now talk to him. - Movements of victim: Lie. Husband's alibi. - Last contact with victim: Truth. - Motive for murder: Lie. Death threat note found at his home. - Things end up in a fist fight. Jacob is one of the tougher fighters you've dealt with so far and you don't have much space. Also the counter attack doesn't really let you combo him so it gets tough. - Now go on over and use the phone to get information from the coroner and a follow-up on the license plate.

- Return to Central Police Station now to interview Jacob Henry. If you don't do this immediately then you deprive yourself of full completion during the course of this mission. - Access to murder weapon: Husband's alibi. - Lipstick markings: Truth. - Deterioration of marriage; Lie. Neighbor Horgan's marital problems clue. - Missing jewelry: Truth.

- Make your way on over to the Mendez residence. Examine the mailboxes outside to find out what apartment you're heading towards - it's the last one on the fourth floor so get to climbing those stairs. - Head on into the bedroom and ignore the cardboard box. Examine the shoe right in front of the bed before doing anything else. - While still inside of the bedroom examine the used lipstick and socket wrench in the cardboard box. - This leads into another car chase. At first just concern yourself in staying at pace with him but once you're told to catch up to him do so. Avoid any cars in your path as you stay in the oncoming traffic lane and let your partner shoot out his tires. When he hits the tires the guy will noticeably lurch in his vehicle, slam into him at this point and he will come to a stop.

======2.9 - The Golden Butterfly ======Drive through the tunnel and wrap around the block to the right to reach this location. Otherwise it can be a bit tough to find the dirt road you need. - Speak to Officer on scene and then follow him to the Coroner. Then get down to examine the body. - Examine the face, turning it to the left, to find the neck markings. - Examine each hand in turn to find a missing ring and a missing watch. - Head on over to the evidence label "C" and examine it to find her purse. You can note the money (not necessary) and then examine her ID tag. This will prompt the Officer to run her ID and get you info on her husband. - Lastly note the evidence label "B" to note the footprints.

- With all that done you can drive on over to the Moller residence where you will meet Michelle Moller, the victims daughter. - While waiting on dad to come home go into the bedroom. Examine the size eight work boots on the floor under the window. - Next examine the ring and watch boxes on the bureau to find out what brand name watch your looking for. - Next we will speak to Michelle. - Missing watch and rings: Truth. - Last contact with victim: Doubt. Nets "husband's alibi" clue. - State of parents marriage: Doubt. Nets "butterfly brooch" clue. - Now it's time to interrogate the father. - Footprints at crime scene: Lie. Size eight work boots. - Missing persons report: Doubt. - Alibi for Hugo Moller: Lie. Husbands alibi. - History of violence: Lie. Butterfly Brooch. - With that done run across the street to speak to the neighbor who calls out. She tells you what Hugo was doing this morning with the incinerator and then points out that he's doing it again. This leads into a small chase that is faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 7/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs actually rather easy to end. Simply keep tapping on the tackle button as you run after him and you'll bring him to the ground. - With that done examine the bloody shoe on top of the burning barrel. Once you get the bloody shoe clue the game moves on. - Use a phone before leaving the scene to find out where the school is.

- You'll get a call as you get back in your car, telling you to go on over to the county morgue so drive there. - Pick up the bottom piece of rope and compare it to the picture. Exit out of the conversation now. - Go into the office and use the phone to find out about the victims car.

- Time to dirve on over to Belmont High School. When you arrive you will find a child molester skulking about so that gets in the way of you examining the car. You can tackle him down to the ground but if you take too long he will be cut off by Rusty in the car which leads to a fist fight that is easy enough to win. Talking to him afterwards nets you the Butterfly Brooch. - Open up the trunk and examine the bloody rope, bloody overalls and last but not least the bloody tire iron. - Don't get into the car yet. Use the nearby gameswell to call Central Police Station to get the interrogation rooms set up.

This next part requires some explaining. You will speak to the two perps and then have to decide on who you believe is guilty. But there's a catch. Both of them seem to be quite guilty of the crime in their own way but the department doesn't want you to accuse Hugo Moller. Even though some of the evidence points to him the Captain will be pissed if you choose him and you're guaranteed only three stars. Period.

Some people have gotten three stars by accusing Rooney, myself included, and we are not sure what the issue is as this is a perfect walkthrough of the case as far as we can tell. As a matter of fact I've gotten both three and five stars while following this exact walkthrough and letting my partner drive everywhere. So it seems to be entirely up in the air.

Let's follow what we do know - enter interrogation room 2 to speak to Hugo Moller first. - Disposal of evidence: Truth. - Access to braided rope: Doubt. - Victim's vehicle recovered: Lie. Bloody overalls from car trunk. - Access to tire iron: Lie. Blood tire iron from car trunk. - Don't accuse him of anything just yet. Leave the room. Now find your way on into Eli Rooney's room - Place of employment: Doubt. - Access to braided rope: Truth. - Motive for Moller Murder: Doubt. - Footprints at crime scene: Doubt.

As you can see the evidence really does support both of them in their own ways although some of the stuff against Rooney is far more compelling. Whether you like it or not though that's the only way to get five stars on this case.

======2.10 - The Silk Stocking Murder ======This crime scene is pretty close to the cafe you start in so drive on over to start your next investigation of a naked dead woman. - As usual lets start with the corpse. Examine the face to find the lacerations on the throat. - Next up is the wedding ring on the left hand. - Then examine the right hand to find the library card piece. - Examine the lipstick writing on the belly. - When you stand up there's some chatter about the evidence at hand. - Examine the nearby stocking. When that's done examine the blood smear on the floor that seems to be painting a trail. You'll be following this all the way to the rooftops for your clues. - Get up and walk towards the green electrical box on the wall. There's a hat with the name Antonia written on it near some blood. - Follow the blood trail further up the alleyway. Inside of a garbage can is a shoe from the victim. Examine the insole for your clue. - Continue to follow the trail of blood to find some house keys dangling on a pipe with the number 5 on them. - Just a bit further ahead you will find a piece of paper with a dot code faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 8/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs message on it. After examining it examine the blood nearby the ladder here to see that the trail goes upwards. - With that examined climb up the fire escape and walk into the bird coop. Here you will find an empty envelope. - Hop over to the next roof and examine the make up kit a bit ahead of you. - Walk nearby the pipe and examine it to get the blood trail clue. - Climb the pipe and examine the square air vent to find her wedding ring. - Hop up onto the next roof and examine near the bucket to find the bloody paint brush clue. - Look around and will find the victims purse tucked into a corner. Open it to find the last clue.

*NOTE: If you hear clue music still playing it's likely because you missed one of the blood trail examine spots or you missed the ring. You can live without the blood trail clues but not the ring. Be sure youv'e got it.

- Drive your silly butt on over to the Parsons Boarding House. Before speaking to her in the parlour go upstairs to investigate Antonia's Room, #5. - As soon as you walk in you can see a problem. So examine the broken window. - Examine the letter inside of her suitcase to get an address thanks to her attorney. - Go over to the dresser and examine the face down picture frame. This shows us that something was missing from the crime scene. - Open the broken window and go out onto the balcony. You'll see a metal bar on the decking, examine this for your last clue. - Back downstairs we go to speak to the proprieter. - Possible suspects: Truth. - Movements of victim: Doubt. - Evidence of break-in: Lie. Broken window. - Breakdown of marriage: Lie. Charm bracelet / Wedding photo.

- Now we're going to the El Dorado Bar. We may as well get all of information we can before we move on to slapping the husband around. - When you get into the bar you will speak to the bartender. He gives you some divorce papers that she left on the bar. - Now it's time to speak to the bartender. - Missing jewelry: Doubt. - Movements of victim: Truth. - Before leaving this place go out the back door of the bar to speak to the delivery guy who will chat a bit and then drive off. - Drive over to the Just Picked Fruit Market. It's closed so there's not much we can do here.

- Now we can go after Angel Maldonado and see what he has to say for himself. - When you barge into the apartment you'll have a fist fight with Maldonado and one of his buddies. At this point you should be having a pretty easy time of handling these so drop the first guy and then help out Rusty. - With that done it's time to check out the apartment. Go into the kitchen to find a bloody shirt hanging on the wall and a crate from Just Picked Fruit Market on the floor. - Waltz over to 305 and speak to the neighbor. He doesn't do much for you. Nor will apartment 303 as there's nobody home. - Down the hall to apartment 301 to find a startling sight. - Last up is 302 which gives you the husband's alibi clue. - Before leaving the scene either use a telepohone or use the gameswell across the street to contact Central. Let's check out that letter, shall we?

- When you get back to the station Rusty will lead you to Technical Services in the basement. Down here all you're basically doing is examining the note and the poem you are given and then leaving. - Now it's time to go back upstairs and interrogate Angel Maldonado. - Last contact with victim: Lie. Husbands alibi from the neighbor. - Divorce proceedings: Lie. Divorce papers. - Jewelry taken from body: Truth. - Bloodstained shirt found: Doubt.

- Now we have more information that something fishy may be happening at Just Picked Fruit Market as well as the Brown Ford Coupe clue. This is important so we need to head back to that market. - When you get there head on over and speak to the cashier, Clem Feeney. - Distinctive necklce: Doubt. - Contact with victim: Doubt. - Movements of victim: Truth. - Turn to your left and go through the double doors. Go to the desk against the faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 9/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs left wall and look in the open drawer. Inside you will find a locked box with what look like three dice on the lock. Use the 2-5-3 pattern you got from the dot note earlier to open it up. Examine the jewelry inside and then put it back down. - Go over to the desk to your left now and examine the bloody scalpel. - Clem is going to make a break for it in his truck and you get to follow. You will be told to pull up so you can shoot out his tires but don't bother with that for a bit. After some time he will get onto a fairly good straightaway and you can pull up alongside him. At first he's going to take too many turns or trips down alleyways for you to really get his tires so just be patient and you'll get your shot.

======2.11 - The White Shoe Slaying ======- As usual drive on over to to the crime scene although this time you'll get shown the way up the hill by a patrol car. - Head on over to the woman and examine her as usual. This time there's nothing to find on her hands and when you examine her face youll find a dry cleaning label instead of noting the neck wound. - Next check out the footprints right next to her body. - Lastly check out the tire tracks right next to the footprints. - With that done it may seem odd the music is still playing. Go ahead and try to leave the scene to start up a cutscene. This prompts an interview with a Mrs. Catherine Barton. - Suspicious persons: Truth. - Now go on over to the gameswell and call in to get an address for Superior Laundry Services, the place indicated on the dry cleaning label. You'll also get information on the Hobo camp you're looking for.

*NOTE: Avoid the hobo camp. There is a way to go there early on and still complete the mission with 5 stars but it's a bit tricker and not quite as satisfying overall. Just ignore it for now.

- Let's go over to Superior Laundry first as that seems less likely to lead to some sort of conflict. - Head on over to the back to speak to the owner. He will give you the register so that you can find what you're looking for. Look for entry F1363 and finger it to get an address. Let's drive on over there.

- At the address, 43 Emerald Street, go knock on the door. Speak to the husband Lars Taraldsen and then it's time to check the home. - Go into the master bedroom and examine the dresser. There's a matchbook to find here that will give you a new location. - Examine the face down picture next. - Next go through the kitchen into the washroom and examine her handbag. Inside is some lipstick and her ID to check out. - Next up check out the muddy boots on the floor near the closet. - Check out the red and black flannel shirt that's hanging on the doorknob. - Then we head outside. There's a boat out here, check near the front for a dangling rope that gives us the bow rope clue. - Now it's time to speak to Mr. Taraldsen. - Possible suspects: Lie. Bow Rope. - Alibi for Lars Taraldsen: Doubt. - Victims state of mind: Doubt. - Last contact with victim: Lie. Wet jacket.

- Onward to Baron's Bar. Time to chat with the batender Benny Cluff. - Last contact with victim: Truth. This nets you the yellow cab 3591 clue. - Vagrant male suspect: Doubt. - Yellow Cab 3591: Truth. - This leads into a chase scene with Richard Bates. You'll run after him a very short bit but jump into the car that stops in the middle of the road. Drive after him and just try to maintain visual contact with him, the game actually won't let you catch up to him until he gets on the straightaway unless he makes a big mistake and rams something. Just wait until you do the big jump, get next to him and let Rusty do his thing. Then we can interrogate the ass. - Contact with victim: Doubt. - Account of movements: Doubt. - Go across the street to the gameswell and put an APB on the cab. Get back into your car but make sure you're driving or this will be lost. - Pretty much as soon as you pull off you will get an APB call in about the cab being located. Drive on over to it and speak to the cabbie to get some info faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 10/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs on the sailor and the lady as well as their movements.

- If you avoided the hobo camp like we said then drive over to Central and go inside to speak to the sailor. If you went to the camp then you will be called back there and not able to speak to this sailor although it's still supposed to be possible to get five stars. We didn't when we tried this so it's suggested you stick with this way of doing the case. - Go on into Interview Room 2 and speak to Jessop, the sailor in question. - Contact with victim: Doubt. - Incident with Bates: Doubt. - Movements prior to murder: Doubt. - Cab ride with victim: Doubt.

- Let's go to the bus deopt before heading on over to the hobo. Head inside to speak to the lady working the counter. She'll point out the driver of the bus to you, Frank Zeferelli. - This part is both really funny and godawfully annoying. As you take forever to find the bus you get some good dialogue out of Cole and Rusty. When you finally do find it all you do is corroborate what Jessop said. Great.

- Now it's time to drive on over to the Hobo Camp. As you might expect a fight breaks out, luckily it's just a fist fight with the leader of the group. A few counter attacks and he'll be on his ass. Now you can check the camp out. - Go into the shed right in front of you. Turn to the left and look on the table to find a green coinpurse. Examine the bottom and then inside of it to figure out who it belongs to. - Next examine the rope on the end table near the bed to find triple braided rope with blood on it.

- Drive back to Central and it's time to interrogate Ackerman. Phelps chats with him a bit about the war before interrogation. - Motive for murder: Lie. Bloodstained rope. - Contact with victim: Doubt. - Alibi for Stuart Ackerman: Lie. Purse.

*NOTE: The Case Notes at the end will mention the alternate path through the case, the one we've spoken about.

======2.12 - The Studio Secretary Murder ======- To start off with let's visit the pawnbrokers place and see what he has to say about those rings. - Examine the rings, checking out the markings on the inside before putting them down and speaking to him. The name he gives for the seller is a fake, it's the name of the same poet Cole quoted in the last case, the writer of Prometheus Unbound. Interesting. - All you've gotten from this is the makers mark, quality, a fake name and potentially a fake address.

- Let's check out that crime scene now. Drive on over to the railyard. Follow the patrol car to the scene. - Head on over and chat with the Coroner before examining the body. - Check out her face and Cole will note the smell. - Then examine her right hand to note another missing ring. - When you're done go over to the green train car and examine the blood spray. - Just next to her body are her personal effects. Examine the purse, noting the letter and the film company ID, the matchbook, getting the bar location, and then the receipt. - Walk on over to black railyard worker. He tells you about what he saw the other guy doing so lets chat with the freak. - Now it's time to interrogate Ferdinand. - Interference with evidence: Truth. - Discovery of victims body: Doubt. - With him done use the nearby gameswell to call back to the station for an address on Levine's Liquor.

- Mosey on over to Levine's Liquor Store and follow Mr. Robbins into the back. There are a number of things to look at here but only two matter. - In the corner, between the partition and her mattress are a trio of objects. Only the bowling pin matters so examine that. - Next up go over to the right side of the bed and examine the book, opening it up to get extra information from inside. faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 11/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs - Now go ahead and speak to Mr. Robbins. - Contact with victim: Truth. - Relationship with victim: Truth. - Knowledge of McAffrey: Doubt.

- Next up is Mensch's Bar. Let's chat with yet another bartender, the owner by the name of Waltern Mensch. After a bit of chatting he directs you to the patrons. The smart dressed guy across from the bartender is who you want to have a chat with. This is Grovener McAffrey. - Criminal history: Doubt. - Relationship with victim: Lie. Book found at Levine's. - When you get out of the bar you'll be called in for a meeting with Captain Donnelly, Pinker and Carruthers.

- With that done let's get on over to Rawlings Bowling Alley. When you get inside you will chat with the lady working the counter. She directs you to the back of the bowling alley. - When you attempt to go down the side hallway to where you saw the guy run off to it leads into a chase. This is a tough one as you're both in fast cars that lack sirens so you're going to be going fast and need to evade other cars manually. Just take it slow and try to get his tires before you reach the trolley tunnel, things get dicey in there and it's easy to crash into an obstruction and lose him.

- If you haven't called in at a gameswell recently do so to get McAffrey's information and then drive over to his apartment. - Bust the door open and go to your left, into his bedroom area. Examine the torn letter on the desk. - Next to the desk is a bloody tire iron and bloody shirt on the floor. Check those out to start a cutscene. - The neighbor points out that he's on the roof so up the stairs then up the next flight of stairs to the right to reach his pigeon coop. You know what he's going to do so get ready for a run. Your opportunity to catch him comes when he jumps the chain link fence next to the red building. In this alley he slows down a bit and is easily tackled.

- Now it's time to interrogate the suspects. You'll want to speak to Tinernan first as 5 stars requires that you speak to Tiernan, then McAffrey and then come back to Tiernan. So let's do this slowly like. - Interrogation of Tiernan, round 1. Fight! - Relationship with victim: Lie. Victim Last Seen from McAffrey. - Victims book found: Doubt. - Alibi for James Tiernan: Lie. Liquor purchase. - Access to murder weapon: Doubt. - Round 2, Grovsner McAffrey. - Alibi for McAffrey: Lie. Torn letter. - Access to tire iron: Lie. Tiernan's accusation. - Alrightly now get up and leave the room. Go out to the front desk and use the telephone to call in. Then head on back in to speak to McAffrey. - Military service: Lie. McAffrey's criminal record. - Final round, Tiernan. - Events prior to murder: Lie. McAffrey's accusation. - Now go back to McAffrey and charge him as the murderer. Bam! Five stars.

======2.13 - The Quarter Moon Murders ======We're almost done with the Homicide desk and this case is a bit of a change up. This ends up being a scavenger hunt of sorts where you try to follow the clues to figure out what the hell the killer is up to.

- Drive on over to Pershing Square and walk over to the fountain. Climb into the fountain and climb up to the second level of it. Here you can find a social security card and a second poem excerpt. This gives you a clue as to where you need to go. *NOTE: The way this works is that when you find a clue question marks will appear on your map. Driving to these locations may present you with the right destination or not. If you've already discovered the location look at the descriptions you have of them on your map for more information. If you take too long Cole solves the problem himself.

- Head on over to the Hall of Records for the next part. After chatting with faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 12/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs the guard follow Rusty as he knows where to go. Climb the ladder, go through the door and it's time to tightrope walk. Use the analog stick to move and balance, moving is obvious but balance by tilting the stick (GENTLY!) in the opposite direction of whatever way you're falling. ie. If you're falling to the left then tilt to the right. - When you get onto the chandelier examine the watch and third poem excerpt. - Now comes the hard part, getting off that chandelier. This is fairly tricky. instincts will tell you how to do this all wrong. What you want to do is NOT lean into the swing but lean in the opposite direction. So as you swing to the right, lean in to the left. Sway back and forth until Cole leaps off of the thing on his own or go ker-splat with it.

- Your next clue will lead you to the Public Library if you've been paying any attention to the descriptions on your map. - When the cutscene showing you arrive ends it's time to play Assassins Creed. By that I mean it's time to climb an ungodly height. You're going to need to use the pipes to get to the roof then scaffoldings to get all the way to the top via use of ladders, jumping and prayers. - At the very top go to the left and look on the floor for the clues. You'll find Antonia's necklace and another excerpt.

- Drive on over to the Westlake Tar Pits and walk forward for a cutscene. - Now you get to wade through the tar to an island hidden in the middle of the tar pit. You'll have to walk on the boards under the tar to said island. To make it easy just keep the camera tilted down at ground so you can see the way the boards move under the tar and move confidently. You'll be fine. - Here you can examine a white open toed shoe and a fifth excerpt.

- With that done it's onwards to the LA County Art Museum. Drive on over for a cutscene that shows you... a hedge maze. Geeeeeze. - Here's the path to get through this with the least fuss. Start from the entrance of the maze: - Take a right, the path forward, not behind you. - Take a left. - Take a right. - Take a left. *NOTE: All directions assume you're facing straight ahead of yourself as you go into the intersection. - Now walk on over and examine Celine Henry's red ring and the sixth excerpt.

- Our next location is the Intolerance movie set. Drive on over there and get ready for an interesting sequence. - Head to the back of the lot and go up the stairs. As you walk forward the ground will fall out underneath you and you're going to have to balance on this platform. Move in the opposite direction of whatever way it's leaning to cause the platform to lean in that direction. It's not hard but it can be a bit tricky in that noticing the exact direction of the lean can be a real pain the butt. When you see Rusty drop a ledge in front of you move in that direction to cause the ledge to fall that way, getting you to safety. - Climb down one of the ladders and go over to the throne, examining the ring and the final piece of the poem excerpts.

- This one is tricky - you're going to Christ Crown of Thorns Church right near the movie set. Drive on over and head inside. - After the cutscene you and Rusty will be in cover. Get out and run over to the altar to find a secret tunnel that he's used. - Run out the doorway near where you were taking cover and sprint across to the house. Once inside turn to the left and go through the door here. Lastly go climb down into the catacombs. - Now this part is interesting. You need to chase Mason through the catacombs as he pops out to take potshots at you with a shotgun. There are two ways this level can go - either you take him out in the catacombs or you chase him out into the graveyard to finish him off. You'll end up killing him down here if you either chase him very well and manage to hit him with a shot or two as he pokes out to fire at you or if you lose him and end up cutting him off. Either way it ends the same, bringing an end to these missions and promoting you to the Vice Desk.

faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 13/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs ======Vice Desk ======2.14 - The Black Caesar ======Congrats! Now you get to be paired up with the smug dumbass you met earlier on in the game. This is going to be interesting...

- Drive on over to the Junkies apartment, head upstairs and into their place. - After the yammering ends go on over to Mr. Dead on the Floor. examine his left arm for track marks. - Next up is his shirt pocket. Examine it to pull out his wallet. Check out the ID and the note inside of it before putting it back. - Move on over to the stiff in the chair and examine him. - Now walk over to the bed and examine near the windows to find a container of popcorn. Examine the label and then press the button to examine further. You should have a pretty decent idea as to what's going on. - Go over to the table near the stiff and examine the note for a "strange doodle" as the game calls it. You can also examine another Black Caesar cup and a music sheet. - Walk over towards the couch and examine the mess on the ground to find a wallet. Pull out the number slip and examine his ID before putting it back. - Examine the two styrettes near the kitchen (in a corner still in the living room). There's yet another Black Caesar cup here... - Lastly go into the kitchen and examine the Black Caesar cup on the counter. Flip it over to find the Styrette taped to the bottom.

- Leave the place and drive on over to the Black Caesar Food Hut. Speak to the guy behind the counter and he'll tear off. You can catch up to this idiot even though the game really doesn't want you to. When he climbs up to the roof with all the air vents cut across to the right and keep tapping the tackle button to bring him down. If that doesn't work then it's time for a fist fight but this pansy goes down easy. - Now we need to examine the food stand. Walk straight ahead and look on the floor to your right for a suitcase. Open it up and examine the bottom right part of the instrument. You'll have to examine it further to open it up and find more of the number slips. - Examine the ticket just next to this piece and then flip it over for yet more information. - Go over to the other side of the bar and open the yellow box to find syrettes and popcorn cups. - Now it's time to interrogate Fleetwood Morgan. - Morphine Overdose Victims: Lie. Morphine for distribution. - Numbers slips recovered: Doubt. - When the chat ends us the nearby pay phone to call R&I to get the address for Jones Booking Agency.

- Now we can either go to the Booking Agency or the Numbers Operation. The Agency sounds less likely to end in a gunfight so lets go there first. - Walk on in and go into the room on your left, closest to you to enter the supposed Talent Agency. Go over to the guy at the desk and speak to him to be able to start looking around. - On the cabinet behind Mr. Jones there is a green radio on the right side. Examine it to see the sticker on the bottom. - Go on over to the radio in the far corner now. This is an easy puzzle. Take the first knob and turn the machine on to begin. Grab the second knob and swap over to FM. Then take the third knob and set it to 275 on the bottom, red line of numbers. Pop goes the drugs! - Jermaine Jones sics his two cronies on you but they're a bunch of pansies that go down in about three hits. - Now it's time to search the goods inside of the radio. Check out the money, the open syrette, the number slip, bundle of marijuana and another green sticker for Ramez Removals. Now we can interrogate this guy. - Army surplus morphine: Doubt. - Involvement of 'Ottie': Lie. Distributor identified from Fleetwood. - Link to Ramez Removals: Doubt. - After the cutscene use the gameswell near the front of the car to call back to the station for Ramez Removals.

- With the information we have now it's kind of obvious that Jermaine and Ottie are the small fish. Let's go clean up Ottie's first. - You'll chat with Ottie before being able to look around the place. Go over to the wiretapping setup and examine it. - Now waltz over to the slot machine for another puzzle. You need to reproduce faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 14/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs the three objects from the strange doodle you found, Cherries-Bell-Win. To do this you'll need to start a spin and press the hold button whenever one of your targets comes up. Eventually you'll get it. - When the machine opens up examine the sticker, the ticket and the syrettes before backing out. - With what you've found Ottie tries to take off. Watch in awe as this somewhat doughy, middle aged man outpaces your ace detective and war vet. Luckily you can basicallly just keep following him until you catch up to him and then tackle him to the ground. - Once he's captured you will be asked to examine an antique cane. Open it up to find a note and then put it down so we can interrogate him. - Army surplus morphine: Lie. Finklestein identified from Jermaine Jones. - IOU note from Jose Ramez: Truth.

- Now we drive on over to Ramez Removals for the aggravating part of this case. - Unfortunately the guy we want to talk to has just driven off so we get to chase him down. Because this sequence is scripted you can't shoot out his tires until he starts hucking crap at you from the back of the vehicle. Also he tends to match ths speed of your super awesome car pretty nicely for a freaking delivery truck. Don't even bother trying to take him out until after he does his first improbable right turn. Then try to stay to his left and let your partner shoot his tires out. If that doesn't work he'll likely cause himself to crash when he tries to left turn and rams you. - Okay, now we can take a look at the freaking warehouse. Go to the left of the entrance and look for a ledger on the desk. Open it up and note the repeat business from Ottie and Polar Bear Ice. - Make your way through the maze of the warehouse to the back and climb up the ladder. Up here get onto the crane and use it to move the three stacks of boxes on the left hand side that are blocing the freezer. - Go down the ladder, into the freezer and examine the ice block. Now use your pistol to shoot it open and examine the styrette. - After this you're pulled back outside. Ramez runs off into the maze and gets a gun. Shoot him dead so we can move on.

- Head on over to Polar Bear Ice and chat with the guy outside. Now it's time to gun the living crap out of this place. - There are about eight enemies to deal with, one at a time as you slowly gun your way through here. Pick up the first shotgun you can get your hands on and keep pushing your way forward blowing peoples faces off. - Eventually you will reach the Fink and it's only going down one way. Help Roy fill him full of bullets. - Now examine the cargo from the S.S. Coolridge and you're finally done here.

======2.15 - The Set Up ======- Walk over to the door and kick it open to check out the locker room. - Check out the open window. - Next look at the boxing glove on the bench and on the floor. These aren't clues but the game seems to act as if they're somehow relevant. - Lastly walk over to the locker and examine it. Inside you can find a notepad with the bookmaker's odds written on it. - That's all we can do here. Head for the exit, getting a cutscene as you go, and use the payphone indicated to call R&I for the address for the phone number from the notepad.

- Drive over to Hotel El Mar and you'll speak to the owner. He gives you a ledger to look through. If you're unsure of what the heck the clues they're giving you to look for are, they mean to look for a pseudonym being used by an Englishman looking to hide out. Tap on Winston Churchill to find his room. - Walk into room 207 and there's a bunch of things to find. - On the table you can find a newspaper laid out. Go to the right page and take note of the coupon in the lower right corner. Tap it to find out the name of a potential lead / accomplice. - Near the table, against the wall, is a bureau with a movie ticket. - On the ground near this is a tipped over waste basket. Inside is a Telegram from Albert to his mother. - Almost done - go to the bed and look at the bookmakers payout note on the left bedside table. - Look on the right bedside table to find a lipstick covered cigarette butt. - Lastly look out this open window as well.

- Next up is another sleazy place, the Aleve Motel. faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 15/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs - Go inside and speak to the receptionist to find out where Candy's room is as well as how Carlo has been asking around for her. Her room is up the stairs and to the left on the second level. - When you get into the room Carlo will be beating her and you'll have to show him how to properly hit someone. - Examine his two jacket pockets for a bit of info and a switchblade. - Looking at her luggage tells you she's leaving town but it's unecessary. - Go over to the dresser and look at the bus ticket and photo of the Cunard Ascania boat. - With that done you can speak to Candy Edwards. - Whereabouts of Hammond: Lie. Magazine coupon. - List of odds recovered: Lie. Bookmaker's payout. - Plans to leave town: Doubt.

- This next part is something of a pain. You need to tail Edwards as she goes on an errand but you can't be seen. To prevent this you can take cover behind cars, at the edges of buildings or just behind anything you can find. If that isn't possible go incognito via a newspaper or other conveniently placed object you can interact with. Things get doubly troubling if you're going for The Moose achievement. This requires you to tail her without going incognito or using cover. The easiest way to do this is simply stand behind cars or at the corner of a building and use the camera to peek around (use the right stick) and then watch her movements. Generally try to wait until Cole starts to complain about her being too far away before running on over. - She goes into a bookies place - after chatting with him use the pencil to shade in the notepad on the payphone to your right. This gives you your next destination so get back to the car.

- Let's get to the Examiner Drugstore and see what they've got to say. It seems that Candy cleaned them out as well. - Go over to the payphone and pick up the yellow card on the table near it. - With that clue in hand use the payphone to call the Yellow Cab company. This leaves you with a cab number that you can chase down. - Speak to the guy behind the counter to get the location of the last bookie.

- Now you'll want to drive over to Ray's but when you arrive you see the yellow cab that's got Candy inside. - Guess what you get to do now? That's right, another tail. Joy. This works the exact same as the one you did all those cases ago in Traffic so have fun.

- She will stop at the Interstate Bus Depot so we get to follow her inside. Go incognito near the entrance and wait. When she enters the bathroom wait a moment and then start walking over. A scream will ring out and then a gunshot so we get to rush inside. - Examine the womans purse near the toilet stall to find a theater ticket to the Egyptian Theatre. - Before going away examine the revolver just next to the purse.

- The theatre is fairly close by so drive on over to bring an end to this. - When you get inside you'll find three goons, two on the ground near the screen and a third on the upper level. You need to kill the two on the ground and then run that way, getting behind the screen through a door and then work your way around the upper level until you reach the balcony the manager was on to start with. Then you can gun him down while he's on the ground to end this case.

======2.DLC2 - The Naked City ======- Some girls dead. Military Surplus Morphine is involved. We get to drive on to some apartment building to check it out. - In the living room look at the three photos to your left, near the wall. Look at all three but be sure to open the middle one to get a clue. - Now go into the bedroom. Examine the pile of pills near the right foot of the bed for the barbituates. - Hanging on the nearby screen is a smoking jacket. - Go over to the bedside table on the right and examine the case. Open it to see the sleeping pills. Then open it again to find Benzedrine. - Enter the bathroom and chat with Carruthers before examining the girl. Look at her neck like he suggests. - Examine the ring on her left hand for the black sapphire ring clue. - Look at her right arm on the inside to find the bite marks. - Lets go out and speak to Mrs. Reynoldson. faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 16/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs - Victim's state of mind: Lie. Sleeping pills. - Victim's personal life: Lie. Smoking jacket. - Relationship with victim: Doubt. - As you come down the stairs look to the right and you will see a trash bin. Go over and check it out to find a Morphine Syrette.

- Let's drive on over to D'Assine Dress Store first. Let's speak to the owner. - Victim's employment history: Truth. - Next up you'll be chatting with Heather Swanson, another model. Cole chats with her a bit before examining the ring she's wearing, netting you the Pearl Ring clue. Then it's interview time. - Relationship with victim: Truth. - Informed of "Mr. Henderson": Truth

- Now drive on ove rto Dr. Stoneman's Practice. Examine the building directory on the right to find his office's location and then ride the elevator. - Ater chatting with the secretary you will go in to speak with the "good" doc. - Relationship with victim: Lie. Benzedrine prescription. - Additional medications: Doubt. - Now use the telephone by the receptionist to check your messages. You're told to return to Hollywood Morgue.

- Drive on over to Hollywood Recieving and go to the right, into the room to speak with Mal. - Check out the harmonica that Carruthers directs you to. - With that done head on over to interrogation room 2 to speak to Mr. Arnett. - Relationship with victim: Doubt. - Informed of Mr. Henderson: Lie. Housekeepers statement. - Burglary suspect Jimmy LeBlanc: Doubt. - With that done it's time to tail Arnett. This is actually pretty easy so long as you don't rush. The hard part comes when you're tailing him on foot. Try to stay on the left side of the road with him, going incognito until his red dot flashes. Then move up a bit and then go incognito again. Just follow him in small baby steps until he crosses the street. Now wait for his dot to flash again and run across the street to the right and then forward to catch up to him. But don't use the crosswalks when doing this. Instead go through the streets, going wide to stay outside of his field of vision. Then use the building for cover to watch him go down into the strip mall area. Follow him but don't go around the corner, wait there until the dot stops moving. Then you can saunter over to the travel agency.

- Lets go head on over to Hollywood Police Beat. You'll find Detective Wallis running after a pair of criminals. Follow the officer until you corner these two along with another pair of accomplices. This leads into a quick gunfight with these not so tough thugs. Afterwards he will give you some extra info.

- Now back to the police station. Chat with Berkowsky for a bit and then you have to examine a list of items stolen over the past year. Tap on the Cigarette Case, Black Sapphire Ring, Pill Box and Pearl Ring. This IDs all of the merchandise we've come across as stolen goods.

- Let's drive on over to the Evestrom Residence next. It's time to speak to the lady of the house. - List of stolen items: Lie. Faberge cigarette case. - Burglary incident report: Truth.

- You, Heather, and Roy get to drive to Arnett's apartment on Yucca St. Should you manage to arrive at the apartment without damaging the vehicle you get the Chauffer service achievement. - When you get inside speak to the guy working at the counter to find where Arnett lives. Ride the elevator up and head on over to his place. You get to have a short chase before being knocked unconscious. - After that you get to search the apartment. And by apartment I mean only look at his suitcase as that has the only two clues to find: a watch and a train ticket. The rest of the place contains nothing. Then its interrogation time. - Professional burglary ring: Lie. Faberge cigarette case. - Motive for Randall murder: Lie. Train ticket. - Identity of 'Mr. Henderson': Lie. Contraband list.

- Time to drive on over to Dr. Stonemans. You'll have a quick chat with him that ends rather unexpectedly. - Before leaving the office call in with the phone on the desk to find out that you have an address for the guy that pasted Cole good. faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 17/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs - Lastly let's drive on over to Willy's Apartment to try and end all of this. When you arrive you'll chat for a bit and then walk off to the right. Follow the sidewalk around the corner where you'll hear a harmonica playing. Run forward until you get a cutscene showing the runner playing a harmonica. - Next up you'll have to chase the guy as he sprints for it. You'll have to climb up a few pipes and ladders. When you make your way up to the roof that he was cornered on you'll spot him climbing up a radio tower. Unload on him until he falls to his death, ending this thing for good.

======2.16 - Manifest Destiny ======- Upon arrival at the crime scene you'll have some options as to how you want to proceed with this. - Go over to victim D in the side room and examine him so Cole can ID him. Next go to victim A and just take a look at him. - Now go over to victim C and examine his pockets to find morphine. - Next look at the trumpet case at clue marker B. Pull out and put back in all of the mouth pieces to make the case open. - Go into the back room and examine the cigarette cases inside the crate. - Lastly examine the Browning Automatic Rifles in this back room for the serial numbers on the guns. - Now speak to the hostess of the 111 club. - 111 club shooting incident: Doubt. - Knowledge of McGoldrick: Truth.

- From the 111 Club to the Blue Room we go! It's just a block away or so. When you get there walk into the main room to start up a cutscene. This leaves you to chat with Elsa Licthmann. - Army surplus morphine: Doubt. - Morphine overdose victims: Doubt. - After this you get to tail Elsa back to her home. By this point you should be able to do this with your eyes closed. There are no achievements or anything attached to doing this so its about as easy as it comes.

- You'll meet up with Earl at Mocambo's to chat with Mickey Cohen. - Finklestein drug operation: Doubt. - 111 Club Shooting: Doubt.

- The game will bring you back to the police precinct. This leaves you chatting with another detective and then looking at the manifest of the ship that the morphine was stolen from. Go to the right page and tap the BARs, Thompson, cigarettes and morphine syrettes.

- You're informed to go to the scene of a man firing an automatic weapon at a bus full of people. Speed your way over there to help out as fast as you can. Use cover to get close to the building he's on and then go around it to the back where you can use a fire escape to get up to the roof. Take cover and when you have a clear shot at him drop him with a bunch of body shots (aiming for a head shot will take too much time). - When the cutscene ends go over to the corpse. Inspect the gun he was using to confirm that it's a BAR and then examine the body. The right jacket pocket has a pocket book in it. Once that's examined back out of the examination to start up a conversation with a Felix Alvarro. Let's chat with him! - Informed of Coolridge heist: Doubt. - Motive for shooting: Doubt. - Go across the street to the gameswell and call back to the station. This nets you the address for Jack Kelso.

- And now we're off to Kelso's Apartment. Hope this doesn't end up like the last one that Cole went to... Back at the station you interrogate him. - Army surplus morphine: Doubt. - Ex-Marine McGoldrick: Truth. - Arms stolen from the Coolridge: Truth. - SS Coolridge robbery: Doubt.

- Then we're off to Roberto's Diner. You'll have a brief car chase where you follow the two perps but no matter how much you shoot then they finally stop themselves in an alleyway. Gun them down and then it's time to move on. - Let's search the body of the guy on the left side. Search both of his jacket pockets, each one contains a different piece of evidence.

- Next up is Grauman's Chinese Theatre. As you arrive two guys will be gunned faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 18/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs down outside and you'll get to have yet another car chase. Yay? Luckily these guys are pretty easy to take out. Wait for them to slide around a bit when they enter a residential area and then start hitting them in the side of the trunk of their car. These thumps are basically going to cause them to spin out a bit and allow you to ram the driver side door. Then get out and start shooting them dead.

- Up next is the Hollywood Post Office. This scene can be kind of tough. It starts off with four guys at the doors of the place shooting out at you and your fellow cops. Kill the guy in the green suit straight ahead of you but make sure your next shot is for the guy with the automatic weapon. Pick it up when the other two retreat inside of the post office and gun down the other two guys when they pop their heads up. - Now we can actually examine the crime scene. You start near someone so go to examine him. Holy crap he's alive! Well now he isn't. Darn. This nets you the Beckett's Confession clue. - Take the business card out of his hand and examine it. - Next up go over to where the P.O. Boxes are and examine the guy in the blue suit. Inside of his left pocket is a note you want.

- Drive on over to the Meeting Place for one helluva gunfight. It starts out with just a pair of guys in front of you. More quickly come from the right, including two guys getting out of a car. Then there are some other men up on the roofs shooting at you. With all of that you'll then have some start to run away. Two of them will try to climb up to the roofs nearby, just shoot them in the back as they climb the pipes for easy kills and keep running. - When you've cleared out the alley you'll be called back to the police station for an interview.

- Once you're back at the police station Phelps is sent in to interrogate Sheldon by himself. - 6th Marines being targeted: Lie. Shooters notebook. - SS Coolridge robbery: Lie. Beckett's confession. - And this will end the mission as well as this stage of the game.

======Arson Desk ======2.17 - The Gas Man ======- We start this one with two locations to investigate. With the Steffans house it seems nobody was hurt but the other, the Sawyer home, is less clear. Lets check out the simplier one - off to the Steffans. Now keep in mind that this case is basically two plot threads that go off in two directions while they also intertwine. If you go to the Steffans first you'll follow it to a travel agency while the Sawyers leads down a different route.

- Ater chatting with the officer on scene go over to the left side of the house and look for the fuse box of a water heater (it's near the fence). Examine it to find out that it was recently serviced. - Now let's talk to Mr. Don Steffens. As soon as you talk to him he gives you the Gulliver's Travel Agency location and Competition Ticket clue. - Travel competition: Truth. - Suburban redevelopment: Doubt. - Use the gameswell down the street to call the station and get information on the Suburban Redevelopment Fund.

- Drive on over to Gulliver's Travel Agency. You're greeted by John Cunningham, the issuer of their travel tickets. - He puts a ledger on the table, showing you the Steffans travel tickets. Tap on both the Steffans and Sawyer families before interrogating him. - Suburban redevelopment fund: Truth. - Promotional travel contest: Doubt.

- Now we drive over to the Suburban Redevelopment office. There isn't much to do here except for one detail. Go inside of the office to your left and look on the table for a communication detailing proper procedures. Take a look at that and then it's time to go.

- With that done we can address the Sawyer household, drive on over now. - Walk onto the crime scene and speak with Carruthers. - Head over to the right from Carruthers to find a burned out Regulator Valve. This prompts a cutscene pointing at Gulliver's Travel Agency, which we have faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 19/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs already followed up on. It also leads to... - A foot chase! Let's get that dirty firebug. Your opportunity to catch him comes after he's gone through the diner. At that point start sprinting in for the tackle and you'll bring him down.

- From here we're going to speak to Lynch at Fire Station no. 32. We've got a bit of a puzzle here and the hard part is remembering what piece is what. Put the blue thing in the middle, the grey one on the right and the thing bunsen burner on the left. The guys will comment on the correct arrangement. Now go and pull ont he gas lever, all the way to the left, to finish up.

- With that done we're on our way over to InstaHeat. Remember these guys from all the way back in your first Traffic case? Speak to the receptionist then go through the door across from her (not near her). Go into the office here and speak with the on-duty manager, Ivan Rasic. - InstaHeat Model 70: Doubt. - Heater service history: Lie. Either use the Heater Serviced by Ryan or the Heater Serviced by Varley clue. - He provides you a list of heater installers. Look at this and then get up and use the phone to your left to call in. This provides you with the list of gas fitters clue as well as Clemens, Ryan and Varley's criminal records. - Now walk back over to Rasic and chat with him to be shown to the lockers. - Follow him and then examine the lockers. - Inside of Clemens locker you'll find an anarchist's pamphlet - Inside of Ryans locker you'll find a huge stack of those pamphlets. - Inside of Varley's locker you'll find a mosquito coil. - That's everything here. Head on out of the building for another cutscene.

- Over we go to Clemens' Worksite to interrogate Clemens. - Knowledge of Varley: Doubt. - Employment with InstaHeat: Doubt. - Knowledge of Ryan: Lie. Clemens' anarchist pamphlet.

- Then we're over to Varley's Worksite. He's going to try and run for it but you have plenty of opportunities to line up your gun on him to get him to surrender. When in doubt try for it when he's running across the street.

- Ryan's Worksite is just 'round the corner. This leads to my favoritest thing in the whole world - a car chase.The best way to handle this is to stay close to him until he tries to go through a parking lot. Your partner can easily take out his tires as you're getting to that point so he should be on rims for one tire by that point. Now try to ram him into a parked car to end this.

- Return to the Wilshire Police Station. Now we need to charge someone but both could be it. Possibly. Ryan seems more likely as his MO is more in tune with the crime though. Varley is a murderer but not an arsonist as far as we know so lets talk to him first. - Varley is interrogation room 2. - Work at Sawyer residence: Lie. Heater serviced by Varley. - Suburban redevelopment: Lie. Walter Clemen's statement. - InstaHeat Model 70: Lie. Mosquito coils. - Now we're going on over to Ryan to see what he's got to say. - Anarchist literature: Lie. Anarchist pamphlets. - InstaHeat Model 70: Lie. Invan Rasic's statement. - Suburban redevelopment fund: Doubt. - Attempted murder charge: Lie. Criminal records. - Now charge Ryan as the evidence is pointing more at him due to his anarchist leanings and his revenge motives.

======2.18 - A Walk in Elysian Fields ======- After a fairly lengthy explanation as to what sort of sick freak you're dealing with let's take a look around. - Examine the bodies. - Turn around and then examine the burnt photo on the floor. This leads into a fairly lengthy conversation. - On the right side of the house you will find another water heater. Hey look, its Varley! - Go into the neighbors yard, to the left, and examine the cigarette butts and then the boot prints. - Now lets speak to this neighbor, Dudley Forman. - Morelli fire witness report: Doubt. faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 20/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs - Suspicious activity: Doubt. - Planned demolition: Doubt. - Promotional travel contest: Truth. - Biggs brings over a piece of origami that, when further inspected, turns out to be a flyer for Elysian Fields. - Now use the phone nearby to call in for an address to Elysian Fields as well as a conversation with the captain.

- From here let's take Biggs' suggestion and go on over to Rancho Escondido. - Upon arrival a few rabblerousers will start up a fist fight so get to work. You've gotta drop two of the guys here before the situation ends. - Walk straight over to the burnt out house and examine the wall right in front of you. You'll eventually find a brick you can pull out and examine.

- Now screw the Captain, let's get over to Elysian Fields. A quick chat with the receptionist will get you sent up. Speak to the second secretary to be allowed to finally speak to Mr. Monroe. - Elysian linked to arson: Doubt. - Promotional travel contest: Lie. Elysian Fields flyers. - Local land acquisition: Doubt. - Rancho Escondido fire: Lie. Poor cement quality. - Examine the paper on the receptionists desk and you'll examine the list of contractors. Tap on Herbert Chapman, the firebug from last case. - Go downstairs and into the office across from the first floor secretary. Use the phone in here to call in to R&I to put an APB on Chapman.

- After some cutscenes you'll get a night time note about Chapmans residence. Drive on over there to see what you can find. - Open the trunk of Chapmans car. Examine the Elysian Fields flyers, the .45 Calibur ammunition and then the mosquito coil. - This leads into one of the coolest moments of the game. You'll have to chase Chapman as he takes control of a trolley. Once you're told to try to go for the tires drive up alongside the trolley and let your partner destroy the tires on the left side. If you suck at this then a police barricade manages to bring a stop to him. - Whne the trolley stops you'll have to gun down Chapman. Do so quickly as his big ol' gun packs quite a punch. Luckily he's quite the pansy so gunning him down doesn't actually take much effort.

======2.19 - House of Sticks ======- Scroll down the letter to get the information update and then put it down. - Next we're examining Lou's case file. Flip over the right slip of paper and then look at the note underneath. - Disputed claim payout: Doubt. - Connection to Buchwalter: Doubt. - Motive for dispute: Truth. - Elsa gives you a slip of paper clue before she leaves your office. - Follow the secretary up to Curtis Benson's office. Where a cutscene ensues. Now we're on our way over to Elysian Fields Development. *NOTE: Even though you're going solo you can still automate the driving process just like you would if you had a partner. Handy!

- Drive your way over to the Elysian Field Development and go into the office. In the same spot that Phelps got his clue here you'll find another note as well as demolition orders. - Across the room you'll find a cement delivery receipt. - Walk out of the office and you'll have a fist fight with a tough guy. When you beat him down he'll give you directions to the other site. - Go around to the rear of the wood and examine the lumber pile to be given a bit of a puzzle. Look for the piece of wood that has "-one Films" and hold it up to the wood on the left. - Now you get to run from the 'dozer. This is kind of tough until you figure out the trick. Run to the first obstacle you can leap and hold the aim button to zero in on the driver, then squeeze off a few shots. He raises the front of the bulldozer, slowing himself down. Hop over this obstacle, and the next one, but stop at the third. Quickly hold the aim button and shoot at the driver. If you're quick you'll headshot him, killing him outright. If not then you get to keep doing this. Fire off shots every other hurdle and hope that you get him in the head for a clean kill. - Now run down the street to the gameswell and call in for an address for the Keystone Film Company. faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 21/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs

- Take a quick drive on over to the Keystone Film Company. Over the fence to your right is a slip of paper on the left side of some lumber. Across from this you will find an Inferior Quality label on another pile of wood. - Jump over the other fence and go into the building on the left side. Look to your right as soon as you enter. There is a film reel on the floor near the table and a film canister on top of the table. - Now turn to your left and you'll a large wooden looking suitcase. Look inside of the box to find a film projector. Tamper with the focus knob on top to get the picture in focus. The next one will lower the speed, get that so that it sounds mostly right (this is mostly to the left). Then flip the direction switch to get it going forward and you get to watch more exposition than you would think could be committed to a film reel that basically explains the entire plot of the Suburban Redevelopment Fund. Wow. Talk about hamfisted... - Go to the guard station and use his phone to call Mr. Benson and then Elsa Lichtmann to arrange a meeting.

- When the cutscenes end we're driving over to the Elysian Fields Development Site Two, the one the guard mentioned. - Go across the street to explore the building with the flickering light. This leads to a fist fight with three guys. Luckily you only have to fight off the tough guy in blue although he's pretty damn impressive actually. Be careful or you might find yourself surprised at how quickly he can hurt you and end up KO'ed. Even when you win you're still going to lose so watch the cutscene. - Now you get to try and flee from the goons. This sounds simple enough - use the alleyways, shortcuts and other traffic to scrape them off of your trail. Unfortunately there are almost no alleyways or reliable shotcuts that you can use so you're going to have to use traffic to do it. Another good way to make them crash is to let them get alongside you, speed up and then drive them into a wall. But before you hit the wall slow down and let them hit it, turn away and speed off. Get enough distance from them and they're gone. You can just drive on over to Elsa's from here.

======2.20 - A Polite Invitation ======Walk on out of the medical clinic and get on into your car so you can drive over to Curtis Benson's apartment. - Walk over to the table and open the manilla folder for the share certificate. - Near the table is a writing desk - on it you can find an insurance agreement. - Examine the glass paneled doors to see what's going on in the bedroom. - Now it's time to interrogate him. - Motive for fraud: Lie. Share certificate. - Suburban Redevelopment: Lie. Insurance agreement. - Buchwalter case settlement: Doubt.

- Now we're driving on over to California Fire & Life to take a look around. Use the elevator and then head to the right to reach your office. - Once inside open up the case file on the desk. Look at the blueprints on the left paper and tap on the coordinates. - Next go to the property details paper on the right. Tap on the property value information to get the Improved Land Value clue.

- Chatterboxing ensues before we find ourselves outside the Hall of Records. Go talk to the security guard to find out where you're headed. Go up the stairs and to your left to find the office you're heading into. Speak with the guy at the desk and he'll lead you over to the S entries. Click near the green reading desk to pull down the file. - Flip to the third page and look at the Suburban Redevelopment Fund. There are a lot of names but you only get a response by clicking on C. Sheldon under the Shareholders entry. - You'll speak to the man again and be led over to a machine. This is simple enough - you need to use the knobs to turn the machine to the location that Kelso names (34-4-29 and 118-17-58). Now we have 1876988 as the lot number. We need to pare that down so we have to use the adding machine. Input the lot number and then put in 90,000 before pulling the handle. This gives us 20. We add one to that as instructed and we have the letter U. - Go over to the U section and do what you did in the S section again to pull down a ledger. Look for the lot number that Kelso repeats ad nauseum and then tap on the lot number. - Now prepare for a possibly aggravating firefight. The guy in front of you has you pinned down. If you try to take him down then the guy to your right, the one with a shotgun, will charge you and kill you in two shots. So what you faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 22/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs need to do is watch your right and carefully move away from cover to kill the one with the shotgun first. Then get the guy by the door. When the other two run in you can gun them down as they run for cover.

- Jack goes to pay Courtney a visit before ending up back home. Answer the telephone. It's on the sideboard straight in front of you after you enter. - When you're back outside drive on over to Monroe's mansion. Now we have a fun firefight to handle! It's you and three of your GI Joe buddies versus about twenty goons. They're fought four or five at a time so be careful. They all have shotguns and machineguns so you don't want to be caught out in the open for more than a few seconds. Keep using cover and don't try to be too quick about pushing forward or you might get gunned down surprisingly fast. - When you open the door there are two goons to handle immediately so don't go running in. Kill them, grab a shotgun if you don't already have one, and then go through the door to the left. Another guy to take out before you continue on. After you take out the secretary you'll have two more guys to handle and then two more guys on the upper level shooting down at you. That's the last of the enemies so head on into the bathroom, then Monroe's office. - Once inside, after your opening negotiation, examine everything you can find. Start with the manilla envelope on his desk, all of the contents of his safe and the picture on the bureau behind him (Near the newspaper). Now a cutscene should start up. If it doesn't then make sure you clicked on the paper in the manilla envelope and actually fully read the dirt on Fontaine.

======2.21 - A Different Kind of War ======We need to investigate these three exterminator companies so start from the top and work your way down. Even if you know where to go do it this way as there's a newspaper at Rapid Exterminators in the least. - Drive over to Rapid Exterminators and speak to the guy behind the counter. - Go to Nuclear Bug and Rodent Removal. Nothing doing here either. - Last drive over to Westlake Pest Control. A quick chat gets you an address for the guy we're purusing.

- The game flashes backwards to Fontaine's home. We need to case the scene of the crime if we're going to find Elsa. - Start with examining the corpse. Turn the head to the right to view his neck. Then take a look at the lighter in his hand. - Next up take a look at the crystal ball. This is near the large white cabinet along the wall near the corpse's head. Rotate it until you can examine the blood spot properly. - Walk into the room to the right to find his morphine cabinet. You'll have to examine a styrette to get the clue. - Near the entrance tot his room is an envelope on a desk. Read the contents to get Fontaine's blackmail as a clue. Be sure to click on the first paper to figure out what they were up to and then click on the bottom of the second page to get the actual clue itself. - Next up we get to do the shade in thing with a blank paper on Fontaine's desk. Back out of it when you're done and click to activate it again to pull the newspaper under the thing you shaded in. This willg ive you the freeway route clue.

- We're back with Kelso now. Head over to the front door and "knock" your way inside the house. - As soon as you enter take a look at the workbench on your right to find a military grade flamethrower. - Head into the last room on the right to find a room filled with origami cranes. Right by the door you enter there is a photograph from Okinawa on the wall so examine that. - Now look to the right of where you start to find an origami crane you can examine as well as a river tunnel map you can explore. - With all of the clues in hand go to leave. You'll start up a cutscene that ends with Kelso making a few calls.

- This next part is both incredibly awesome and incredibly tricky. Phelps, that would be you, have to help Kelso reach the River Tunnels. The problem is he's being pursued by half of the LAPD. These cars aren't as tough as they usually are so you can destroy them pretty easily via ramming but holy hell are there a lot of them. Just focus on following Kelso without letting the cops ram you out of the way (that's the tricky part) and have some fun wrecking vehicles while you do so (and that's the awesome). faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 23/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs - When you reach the tunnels you'll be in control of Kelso as you clean them out. One thing to keep in mind - never try to go outside. You automatically die to being gunned down by cops. Now comes a very long, sometimes hard gun battle with the SRDF's goons. - In the first tunnel you have four guys at range to deal with. Hose them down with your pistol (infinite ammo is awesome). Loot one of their guns and walk forward slowly until another guy jumps out. Kill him then go down the small tunnel he emerged from. - From here you have to jump down into a water filled tunnel. There are two enemies down here; the one you pursued and another who comes down the ladder. That guy on the ladder can easily be killed before he even reaches the water. - Upon going up the ladder an enemy will start shooting at you from the right. When you take him out he's standing near the entrance to a supply room. Go in to grab some fun weapons (shotgun, assault rifle or heavy machine gun). - You can see the two red dots in the next tunnel so use your new weapon to get rid of them and keep moving forward. - After seeing the first guy get torched you'll see a second. This leads into a big gunfight with guys on your level, to your right and below you. - Run to the far right of your platform and take the stairs to your right down a level. Kill the three guys here and you will find another supply room. In here is a freaking flamethrower! - Go down the ladder near the door to the supply room. This large chamber will begin to flood, slowing you down, and an enemy will begin shooting at you. If you walk towards him you will die. If you have the flamethrower you can't shoot him so you will die even quicker. Instead walk to the right, around the pillars and cross the second bridge. Go up the ladder to the right and you will be on level with the sniper. Take out him and his two buddies so you can keep moving on. - On top of the scaffolding in the last room you will have to deal with two final enemies. If you're using the flamethrower then push forward to take out the first guy and let the second one come to you. He's game for it. With them dead it's just a matter of walking into the tunnel to your left.

Aaaaand that's that. It's all over. The game basically wraps everything you've been doing up behind the scenes, gives you the ending cutscene and then pats itself on the back. Be sure to watch the credits through though so you at least get something out of it.

======3. Street Crimes ======One thing that's somewhat hidden in L.A. Noire is that you can go to the "Cases" menu and select Free Roam. This allows you to just run about the city looking for locations, collectibles or do street crimes without anything else acting as a distraction.

* NOTE: If you fail one of these missions you will be brought to a nearby alley as a checkpoint. Just drive back over to retry the event.

======Traffic Level Street Crimes ======3.1 - Masked Gunman ======Location: Hunter St. and Lawrence

When you arrive at the destination you start right in front of a ladder. From here you get to chase the living crap out of this guy as usual. After you've chased him for a good bit you will find him with a hostage. The game implies that you should be trying to subdue him but just fill him full of lead, or use a precise headshot, to kill the perp. That ends this.

======3.2 - Boxing Clever ======Location: 2nd Street and Spring

As you arrive you will see what's clearly a drugged up man robbing a completely trashed pharmacy. Chase him up a few ladders and he will go to attack you with his hands when he stops. Pummel him into the ground so he can be taken into custody. faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 24/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs ======3.3 - Cosmic Rays ======Location: Seventh St. and Flower

This one is actually incredibly annoying. It implies that you're going to want to bring this guy down unharmed but it actually turns out you can't do that. All you're really trying to do is chase him off the roof of a building. You can supposedly catch him when he stops in the middle of the road, causing a bit of a traffic disturbance, but this writer has never been able to do so.

======3.4 - Hung Out to Dry ======Location:

Yay for target practice! Four men are holed up inside of warehouse. When you start this off you will notice that two of the men are talking. Oh and there are actually five hostiles, four with pistols and one in the rear with a damn shotgun. Keep away from him or die rapidly.

Anyways you have an easy shot from the get go so try to take out the two perps you can see right away and then move in. Help your partner take out the others and then carefully snipe the shotgun user from a distance. No reason to get close to him if you can help it afterall.

======3.5 - Army Surplus ======Location: West 9th Street, between Grand and Hope

This is a simple mission. When you arrive two armed suspects are firing at you. All you have to do is take them down, nothing more complicated. Since they're just using pea shooters it's easy enough to just storm their hiding positions if they move out of easy sight (and they probably will).

======3.6 - Shoo Shoo Bandits ======

======3.7 - Gangfight ======

The only thing this mission asks you to do is climb a really long drain pipe and then climb up a ladder. There's literally nothing else to this one.

======3.14 - Would be Robber ======Location: Grand, between 4th and 5th

This one is kind of annoying. When you arrive at the scene the suspects will tear off in a yellow car. You must chase it around the corner to the right, past a bit of a car accident, a right turn followed by a quick left into an alleyway and then down a street. It doesn't seem possible to stay close to them long enough for Galloway to blow out their tires so it'll end up in a standoff at the gas station.

When the guy takes a hostage be really careful. This one seems to have a bit of a hit detection issue where shots that would directly hit the perp only cause him to let go of the hostage (who he immediately executes) while a shot that goes anywhere near the hostage seems to cause them to spontaneously drop dead. Eventually you'll work it out and then you can continue up to the roof to have a gunfight with the second perp. It seems possible to disarm him although this may have been a fluke.

======3.15 - Running Battle ======Location: Mallory's Cafe, 391 South Broadway

Upon arriving at the scene of the crime you get to chase the perp. It is theoretically possible to arrest this man but it's quite hard. You need to get as close to him as you can as he's climbing the pipe, leap the roof gap and then climb the ladder. Now you need to arrest him as he runs across the bridge to the second roof. If you fail then you'll have to either shoot to kill or try to blast the gun out of his hand.

======3.16 - Unsuccessful Holdup ======Location: Figueroa and 4th

When you gain control of Cole run in the direction the men went, following them down into tunnels. Just around the corner two will try to fight you but as soon as you kill one the other two retreat into another tunnel, this one with cable cars running through it. Here you are often at a disadvantage, two guys that are shooting at you as you try to get closer to them. You basically need to gun them down before they manage to take you out.

======3.17 - Bank Job ======Location: 7th St. between Grand and Olive

When you arrive at the bank you're immediately thrown into a gunfight. It may help to yank a shotgun out of your trunk. Use that to dispatch the two guys outside the bank and then march on inside. There are three guys in the main area, two on the left and one in the middle. Take them out but don't follow your buddies, instead grab one of the machine guns off the ground. Now ride down the elevator and clear this area. There's five guys here, one as soon as you exit the elevator, one inside the next room and three in the vault. They're hiding behind the counters here so you just need to wait for them to pop up and shoot them in the mug.

faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 26/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs ======3.18 - Cop Killer Shot ======Location: Sixth St. and Ludley Place

Yay for easy side missions! Climb up on top of the building via the drain pipe and then climb up the ladders. Once on the roof you only need to shoot the two guys dead to end this. The second one takes a helluva lot of shots to the body to kill so aim for the head to end it with few difficulties.

======3.19 - Canned Fish ======Location: Alameda and First

This one is a bit deceptive. It starts off simple enough - you and Rusty having a two-on-two brawl with some goons. This isn't very hard at all as these guys don't have a whole lot of health. If they're blocking alot then just use a grapple move to take them down. With that done though things get tough. You're in a non-police vehicle, by yourself, chasing down a big ol' truck you can't possibly run off the road. The trick here is to just follow him. Don't ram him, don't try to stay too close to him but just simply follow him at a distance. It will keep you safe from hitting him, pedestrians or vehicles he causes to crash which is the only thing that can make you fail this mission. When you get to the watefront just drive over, get out of the car and you will arrest him.

======3.20 - Vengeful Ex ======Location: Olvera Street Plaza

This is simple enough. Follow the crazy old bastard down the street a bit and when you have a clear shot at him, and not the civvies, shoot him dead. There, problem solved.

======3.21 - Honey Boy ======Location: 3rd St. off Grand Ave.

This one seems to be rather cut and dry. I haven't found a way to subdue him, even shooting the gun out of his hands seems to kill him so just take a head- shot and bring this cop killer to justice.

======3.22 - Thicker Than Water ======Location: Trolley Station off Glendale Blvd.

As is par for the course you can't actually catch these subjects. You need to wait for the game to cause them to crash, leaving you the ability to apprehend them. As such drive slowly, patiently and avoid causing too much damage

======3.23 - Misunderstanding ======Location: Union and Rockwood

Easy enough, once again. All you need to do is chase the guy long enough for him to make a stand in a garage. Once here paint the walls with his skull gravy and then get back to the case.

======3.24 - Killer Bandits ======Location: Broadway, between 9th and Olympic

When you arrive at the liquor store you find out that some thugs just killed faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 27/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs somebody. Cole and Rusty confront them in an alley. The black man will take cover and begin firing at you while the other guy runs off. Shortly after you take out the first perp the second speeds past in a truck. Luckily he crashes before this turns into a car chase. Gun him down and you'll finish this.

======3.25 - Bowling Lane Robbery ======Location: Olympic Ave. & 9th St.

This one can be kind of tough. There's one guy out front who will basically chage out with a shotgun. He's an idiot and you can kill him for his gun easy. But the next three are tricky. The next guy has a shotgun and can kill you very fast if you try to barge in. The two to the left have very strong pistols that can do much the same so use that shotgun to down them one at a time. When the only one left is the guy in gree he will run off and grab a hostage. There's no way to defuse this one so just pop him in the face and be done with it.

======Vice Level Street Crimes ======3.26 - The Blue Line ======Location: Franklin Ave, near Highland and Las Palimas

This one is kind of interesting. When you arrive at the scene there are five guys to deal with. One is just ahead of you, behind the truck, with an automatic. He's easy enough to take out from where you start so do so. Then look to your left for the guy that is hiding in the framework of the house. Then move forward and pick up that machine gun. The other guys are hanging out in far back corner so use that gun to kill two of the last three guys. The final punk will try to run off by getting into a car. If you don't kill him before he gets in he'll try to run over you and then be stopped by a patrol car so you can subdue / kill him.

======3.27 - Commies ======Location: Hollywood and Highland

Pfah, easy mission! Whenever you're ready to start the killing simply stand up and quickly fill this guy outside full of bullets. You can either use your pistol from now on or get a better gun out of the trunk. Either way, storm the place and ventilate the other two to finish it off. One is behind the counters right ahead of you and the other is to your let as you enter.

======3.28 - Daylight Robbery ======Location: 3rd St. & Union

This mission is a bit of a trip. At any point during the foot chase you can point your gun at the perps back to get him to stop by firing a few shots. But even if you miss your chance at the end of the chase he get stopped rather... interestingly by a third party. Yay!

======3.29 - Fatal Plunge ======Location: All the way in the middle of no-goddamn-where

Seriously, I hate this goddamn mission. There's no easy way to complete this one because apparently this truck that Dudley is driving is a mix between F1 racer and magical device as it can go faster than your speedy car and yet makes perfect turns without basically ever crashing. There's one point where a flat bed will pull out and block the road. If you're lucky he will crash here but if not you may as well restart the case. The next few minutes are designed to do nothing else but piss you off so just restart it and try to get him to crash here. Your partner is useless as well so don't rely on him. faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 28/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs

======3.30 - The Badger Game ======Location: 4th Street between Shatto and Virgil

The idiot steals a patrolmans car and speeds off in it because, clearly, he's too stupid to live. Start chasing him in your car whenever your partner deigns to step inside and try to catch up to him. Eventually he will ram a garbage truck so slam into his rear bumper and then get out to subdue him.

======3.31 - Camera Obscura ======Location: Corner of Fountain and Cole

This one is pretty obnoxious. You've only got a very small window of arresting this guy without causing a huge scene, notably when you and him get on a fairly long straightaway. The rest of the time you don't have a chance of stopping him so just try to keep up with this idiot. If you don't stop him a trolley will so thank the citizens of L.A. for being better at this than Cole.

======3.32 - Secret Keepers ======Location: L.A. Auto Club

This is a rather simple one so long as you don't mind car chases. You'll end up in the Delahaye 135MS Cabriolet for this one as when you confront the Red in the parking lot it's the closest car and Earl jumps right into it. Chase after him but be more concerned with not pasting pedestrians than catching him. He will crash himsel after a bit if you can't shoot out his tires.

======3.33 - ======

======3.34 - ======

======3.35 - ======

======Arson Desk ======3.36 - Bus Stop Shooting ======Location: Corner of Beverly Blvd. and Union

Yay for another easy street crime. Pull one of the bigger guns out of your trunk and then go storm the place. Blow the first two guys apart to prompt the third to run out the back door.

======3.37 - Paper Sack Holdup ======Location: Main St. between 2nd and 3rd

Aaaaand now another car chase. Great. You've only got one chance to stop these idiots and that's very early on when, after going through a few alleys, they slow down enough for you to pull alongside them. If you don't stop them here faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 29/32 11/7/12 L.A. Noire Walkthrough - IGN FAQs then the chase will end up with a big jump and an even bigger crash after you chase them halfway around town. If you lose them once you'll be behind them from that point on so just try to stay close.

======3.38 - Cafe Holdup ======Location: South Hill st. between 5th and 6th

This one is tough but only if you're caught off guard. To start with you have to shoot the mook with the pistol before he blows the brains out of the cook. Take careful aim and either headshot him or fill him full of body shots. Now run outside and take cover behind the crates. Try to kill these three guys VERY carefull. Two have machineguns and one has a shotgun meaning they can kill you ridiculously fast. The shotgunner is dangerous but not too bad at this distance so deal with those machinegunners first

======3.39 - Accident Prone ======Location: Sixth and Alvarado

This is beyond easy. Go into the alleyway you're directed to and go left. Past the trucks, in a small loading area, you can find the perp hiding behind the dumpster. Punch his face in to subdue him.

======3.40 - Hot Property ======Location: Catalina St. between Beverly Blvd. and Council St.

And we finish of these street crimes with another damn car chase. Urgh. This one is kind of annoying as he drives that beat up clunker so fast that if you slow down, even for just one second, then you're going to have to let the game stop him for you (he runs into a freaking truck).

======4. Newspapers ======1. During "Upon Reflection" this is found in the alley underneath a light. It's resting on some crates and is kind of hard to miss.

2. The second newspaper is found during "The Driver's Seat" on the kitchen table in the black household.

3. During the case "A Marriage Made in Heaven" pick up the newspaper from the bar, near the bartender.

4. During the mission "The Fallen Idol" walk over to the painted on backdrop hiding the secret room, turn around and walk over to the work bench. The newspaper is sitting on it, nearby the shrunken head mold.

5. When you investigate the Henry's residence during "Red Lipstick Murder" look in the living room, on the floor, by the record to find this paper.

6. After beating up Stuart Ackerman in "The White Shoe Slaying" go straight ahead of you into the shed. It's on a crate right in front of you.

7. During "The Black Caesar" this is inside of Ramez Removals. After you enter the warehouse go to your left and look on the table there.

8. As soon as you start the case "The Set Up" it's in front of you on one of the locker room benches.

9. During "Manifest Destiny" you will chase two shooters until they crash in an alleyway. The newspaper is on the floor here near the dead bodies.

10. After the conversation at the house in "A Walk in Elysian Fields" look on the right side of the yard to find this newspaper. faqs.ign.com/articles/118/1185725p1.html 30/32 11. During "A Polite Invitation" when you reach Monroe's office during the big shootout search on the bureau behind him to find this newspaper.

12. The next newspaper is found during "A Different Kind of War" at the first exterminator company, Rapid Exterminators. It's on a counter right in plain view so grab it before going.

13. The final newspaper is also found in "A Different Kind of War" when you get to Fontaine's office. It's right on the desk and you really can't miss it.
