Erdmann, Andrzej Suchanowski and Piotr Aschenbrenner Jedrzej Sniadecki University School of Physical Education, Gdansk, Poland The aim of this paper is the presentation of the geometry of the alpine ski giant slalom at the highest world level in order to calculate the obtained time by videorecording velocity and acceleration of running. KEY WORDS: alpine skiing, giant slalom, fis world cup, geometry INTRODUCTION: In alpine skiing the role of a coach is a difficult one. This is due in part, to the fact that during the competition he would be unable to observe the athlete for the entire track, regardless of the position he chose, because of the extensive terrain. Before the competition the organizing committee provides data only on general description of the course, i.e. the length of the slope (measured usually without snow) and few data on the incline of the slope. Unfortunately, no data on geometry of gates is supplied to the coaches. During the competition the time of running of the entire course and of one or two segments of the course are displayed. These data do not provide sufficient information with which to evaluate adequately an athlete’s performance on the course. Possession of detailed data on the geometry of the poles setting and on the time of the running between them would allow the coach to more accurately assess the performance of the skier on the course, i. e. what velocity and acceleration he had achieved between the gates.

    LO SCI ALPINO Silvia Martinalli 1) Storia STORIA DELLO SCI Lo sci alpino in senso moderno iniziò a svilupparsi soltanto a partire dalla metà del XIX e nel 1896 un Austriaco introdusse un nuovo metodo per curvare che si avvicinava molto a quello dello sci moderno. Nel secondo dopoguerra lo sci alpino non è più solo un passatempo per gente di montagna o ricchi turisti ma diventa sport di massa grazie anche al nascere di stazioni sciistiche attrezzate con numerosi impianti di risalita. Lo sci alpino moderno si articola in 4 diverse discipline: discesa libera, super gigante, slalom gigante e slalom speciale. GARE ED EVOLUZIONE DELLA DISCIPLINA Le gare di sci erano assai diffuse già nel XIX secolo nei paesi scandinavi, ma si trattava principalmente di gare di sci nordico. A fine Ottocento sulle Alpi iniziarono a disputarsi le prime gare alpine, come la discesa del 1893 in Austria o la discesa organizzata in Germania dal Club della Foresta Nera, con un dislivello di 160 metri. Alla fine del XIX secolo e l'inizio del XX nacquero numerosi club e associazioni per la promozione dello sci soprattutto nei paesi alpini, in quelli scandinavi e nel Nord America; furono soprattutto gli inglesi a contribuire allo sviluppo delle gare di discesa, tipicamente alpine, snobbate per altro dagli scandinavi, appassionati di sci di fondo. 2) Gli sci Sci da discesa Per lo sci alpino, fino alla metà degli anni 90, gli sci erano lunghi e quasi dritti lateralmente (in realtà già avevano una leggera sciancratura). Na Pohorje sem se sicer vselej z največjim veseljem vračal, pa če je šlo za dnevno smučarijo, poletne priprave namiznoteniškega kluba ali pa le ob pogledu iz družinskega vinograda, ko se pred očmi za Ptujskim in Dravskim poljem razgrne v vsej mogočnosti. Čeravno sem sam zgolj rekreativni smučar in sem bil tekmovalno zapisan namiznemu tenisu, občudujem vse slovenske športnice in športnike, ki s trdim delom predano sledijo postavljenim ciljem, imajo najvišje ambicije in dosegajo izjemne rezultate v svetovnem merilu. V športu je vse jasno in običajno ni prostora za iskanje izgovorov. Podobno filozofijo gojijo tudi slovenske podjetnice in podjetniki, ki dosegajo vse boljše rezultate v globalni konkurenci. Vnaprej se veselim časa, ko si bomo tudi v oblastnih strukturah in Za to skrbimo na več načinov. In 1987 at the third Ancient Skiers’ banquet, the first of the Northwest Legends of Skiing were honored. They all had been previously inducted in the National Ski Hall of Fame. In 1990 all the remaining Northwesterners in the National Ski Hall of Fame were inducted along with four others. Inductions take place at each Ancient Skiers biennial banquet. In February 2014 The Northwest Ski Museum and Hall of Fame opened the Northwest Ski Hall of Fame exhibit in Leavenworth in the Enzian Inn.
