FACTORY 25 AND FANDOR TO JOINTLY RELEASE 7 FILMS

Film streaming service plans day-and-date theatrical releases in expanding partnership with distributor Factory 25

(Brooklyn, NY June 25, 2015) – Fandor, the leading curated subscription streaming service in partnership with indie-film distributor Factory 25 announced today at BAMcinemaFest that they will jointly release seven films day-and-date. The move reinforces Fandor and Factory 25’s commitment to providing extraordinary cinema to an ever-growing audience of film enthusiasts. The two companies have partnered on numerous releases since 2012 but this is their first pact for joint-releases. The announcement today also marks Factory 25’s six-year anniversary.

The films included in this partnership offer an eclectic range of independent cinema that have been critically acclaimed at festivals. Todd Rohal’s Uncle Kent 2 won the Audience Award at SXSW this year. Charles Poekel’s Christmas, Again was a 2015 Sundance Film Festival and New Directors/New Films favorite. Nathan Silver’s Stinking Heaven is an award-winning feature that premiered at Rotterdam International Film Festival. Pavan Moondi and Brian Robertson’s Diamond Tongues is a Toronto-set, Slamdance debut film. Critic’s favorite Maximón Monihan’s La voz de los sileciados (Voice of the Voiceless) has played at over a dozen international festivals. Lynn Shelton’s award-winning first feature We Go Way Back will also be celebrating its ten-year anniversary with a 35mm print touring theaters. Alexander Rockwell’s Hero, his first film, shot in 16mm received a Special Jury Prize at the first Sundance Film Festival in 1984 (then called U.S. Film Festival) is also part of the partnership.

“Fandor is one of the few like-minded companies that really care about cinema as much as I do. I'm really excited about working together to release this slate of films by some of the most influential voices in independent film right now,” says Factory 25 founder, Matt Grady

The release of Uncle Kent 2 and Stinking Heaven that both played at BAMcinemaFest this year extends Fandor’s long-standing relationship with filmmakers Todd Rohal and Nathan Silver, whose earlier works are also available on Fandor.

"We're deliriously excited and honored to be working with Fandor and Factory 25, two companies that push some of our favorite movies into the world,” said Nathan Silver, director of Stinking Heaven. “The fact that they're joining forces is a cause for total celebration."

Fandor will be releasing the films day-and-date on their subscription service with Factory 25 releasing the films theatrically and through transactional platforms.

"The films that we are releasing together with Factory 25 represent many of the best works that we have seen at film festivals over the past year," stated Jonathan Marlow, Fandor co- founder and Chief Content Officer. "Coordinating the on-demand debuts of these extraordinary films with their respective theatrical releases is critical to reaching discerning audiences everywhere."

The 5 new releases that will be released on Fandor day-and-date with Factory 25 are:

Christmas, Again, directed by Charles Poekel Christmas, Again made its world premiere at Locarno International Film Festival, had its North American debut at Sundance 2015 and was an official selection of New Directors/New Films. Diamond Tongues, directed by Pavan Moondi and Brian Robertson In the vein of a modern All About Eve, Diamond Tongues follows Edith and her dreams of being a successful actress. But she just can’t seem to make things happen. When she can’t figure out what she’s doing wrong, she starts to do everything wrong.

Stinking Heaven, directed by Nathan Silver Silver’s follow-up to Uncertain Terms is a black-as-tar comedy charting the dissolution of a commune for sober living in ‘90s suburban New Jersey featuring an all-star cast of independent actors including Keith Poulson, Hannah Gross, Deragh Campbell, Eleonore Hendricks, Cindy Silver and Tallie Medel.

Uncle Kent 2, directed by Todd Rohal SXSW Audience Award-winning Uncle Kent 2 features animator in a desperate attempt to create a follow-up to ’s 2011 film Uncle Kent. He travels to a comic book convention where he loses his mind and confronts the end of the world.

La voz de los sileciados [Voice of the Voiceless], directed by Maximón Monihan This unconventional “silent” film takes us inside the mind and heartbreak of Olga, a deaf teenager brought from Latin America to New York City under the false promise of attending a “Christian Sign Language School.” La voz de los sileciados will have a non- conventional release and will tour venues with a live score by Prince Paul and Edan.
