the Plan and your role in it 1.1 What is the Site Allocations and Policies Plan for? 1.1.1 The purpose of producing this document is to set out Copeland’s supply of development land to meet the Borough’s needs and growth aspirations for the fifteen year horizon of the Local Plan. The Core Strategy sets out the strategy for growth in the borough and the Site Allocations and Policies Plan will identify the pieces of land that will deliver this growth. 1.1.2 The ‘headline’ figures for how much land is needed are based on documents in the Local Plan evidence base, available on the Borough Council website. They are based on independent data sources and research, and have been verified by the debate that accompanied the production of the Core Strategy, and the public examination which endorsed it. 1.1.3 We now, therefore, have to give a firm base to the Local Plan by identifying the land which will make up that supply. 1.2 What does this document do? 1.2.1 There are several elements to the site allocation process: . It takes forward the strategic policies of the Local Plan Core Strategy. The Core Strategy was adopted in December 2013 following wide consultation and a public examination. It gives us the basic principles of how land will be earmarked for development in order to meet the sustainable growth objectives of the strategy; . It chooses which sites in the identified supply are suitable to be allocated now - for development over the next 15 years; . It evaluates the supply of land available for employment development, to see if any undeveloped sites would be better put to other uses (this is a Government requirement); . It checks that there is enough open space and other recreational land to support a good quality of life, and that it is protected from development. Note that the Site Allocations and Policies Plan is a part of the Local Plan. So the following questions must be asked of any site that has been proposed for development. Does it meet the Is it OK in terms of Will it help to meet the Development Strategy sustainable development needs of the Borough and (and, therefore, the (see the Sustainability its communities, and Government’s national Appraisal published with provide a sound basis for planning policy)? this document)? economic growth? Copeland Local Plan 2013-2028: Site Allocations and Policies Plan Preferred Options (January 2015) Page 1 1.3 How can you have your say? 1.3.1 This document presents a range of possibilities, both in terms of general approach in settlements as well as specific sites, and we want to hear what you think. This is a formal 10 week public consultation on the Preferred Options that runs from Monday 12th January to Friday 20th March 2015. 1.3.2 You can choose to comment on particular approaches to development in an area that are outlined in the document and/or comment on an individual site, and we have produced different Representation Forms in order to help this process. Appendices to the Appraisal of Sustainability Site Report for Braystones EN-6: Revised Draft National Policy Statement for Nuclear Power Generation Planning for new energy infrastructure October 2010 Appendices to the Appraisal of Sustainability Site Report For Braystones Appraisal of Sustainability of the revised draft Nuclear National Policy Statement The Appraisal of Sustainability (AoS), incorporating Strategic Environmental Assessment, of the draft Nuclear National Policy Statement (Nuclear NPS) has been undertaken at a strategic level. It considers the effects of the proposed policy at a national level and the sites to be assessed for their suitability for the deployment of new nuclear power stations by 2025. These strategic appraisals are part of an ongoing assessment process that started in March 2008 and, following completion of this AoS, will continue with project level assessments when developers make applications for development consent in relation to specific projects. Applications for development consents to the Infrastructure Planning Commission will need to be accompanied by an Environmental Statement having been the subject of a detailed Environmental Impact Assessment. The AoS/SEA Reports are presented in the following documents: AoS Non-Technical Summary Main AoS Report of revised draft Nuclear NPS Introduction Approach and Methods Alternatives Radioactive Waste Findings Summary of Sites Technical Appendices Annexes to Main AoS Report: Reports on Sites Site AoS Reports Technical Appendices All documents are available on the website of the Department of Energy and Climate Change at http://www.energynpsconsultation.decc.gov.uk This document is the Appendices to the Appraisal of Sustainability Site Report for Braystones. There is also a need to provide the schools, health and leisure services. These services are provided by a range of organisations but there is currently little or no integration of that provision to meet the needs of existing communities nor their future needs. The preparation of an integrated Infrastructure Plan is essential for local authorities and their partners to fulfil their place shaping role. The revised Planning Policy Statement 12 (PPS12)1 identifies the Core Strategy as the to ensure that sus considered sound , the Core Strategy must identify the infrastructure requirements for its area; who will provide it and when. The production of an integrated Infrastructure Plan will also yield significant benefits for their partner organisations need to actively engage in the process. Revisions to Planning Policy Statement 122 have meant that local planning authorities are now required to demonstrate a reasonable prospect of infrastructure delivery in relation to land allocations for development.

Blackshaw Report Sent to S. Blacker SRE associates 1 Introduction 1.1 Introduction Nevis Environmental Ltd (Nevis) was commissioned by SRE Associates in October 2020, to carry out an Ecological Walkover Survey of the site known as Kirkland Road, Ennerdale, hereafter referred to as ‘the site’. This report has been prepared by Nevis ecology consultant, Rob Mansbridge, BSc (Hons) ACIEEM. 1.2 Site Details and Location The site is located to the north of Ennerdale Bridge village in Cumbria and is centred on Ordnance Survey (OS) grid reference (NY 07061 16205). The survey area is shown on Figure 1 and comprises approximately 1 ha of agricultural land and is currently used as grazing land for livestock. The site is within an agricultural field with no physical boundary to north. Kirkland Road borders the site to the east and an access track to residential and agricultural properties to the west. A residential property and associated garden borders the site to the south, with the main residential areas of Ennerdale Bridge village beyond. The wider landscape is dominated with agricultural grassland with pockets of broadleaved woodland which are largely associated with the River Ehen and its tributaries. 1.3 Proposals It is proposed to develop the site for housing. Current development proposals consist of nine residential properties and the creation of an access route onto Kirkland Road.
