Wednesday, March 4th: Guests Arrive in CA: Transportation from airports provided by Fender University Staff.

Arrival Until 5PM – Free time, get settled in your room and check out the amazing grounds of the Mission Inn.

5PM – 7PM Registration begins: You will receive your student ID, information pack, gift bag and your very own guitar or bass. After registration, Fender professors will be on hand to answer any questions you have. Registration will be outside the Music Room, located in the hotel lobby near the hotel Registration counter. (Spouses Welcome)

7PM – 9PM Dinner and Reception in the Music Room

7PM Opening Remarks from Richard McDonald, Dean, Fender University 7:15PM Dinner 8PM-9PM Musical Performance by Dick Dale. The self-styled “King of Surf Guitar,” Dale will be forever remembered as the man behind the epic instrumental “Miserlou”; a pioneer whose staccato machine-gun picking style, Middle Eastern melodic sense and reverb- drenched sound launched an entire genre. He is a longtime Fender friend and family member who was often consulted by Leo Fender himself on design matters during the company’s original ’50s-era golden age.

Thursday, March 5th:

7AM – 8:30AM Breakfast Buffet at the Hotel, located in Santa Barbara/Oriental Court.

8:45AM Meet in the lobby, Casual Attire and CLOSED TOED SHOES ARE REQUIRED. (Spouses Welcome)

9AM Depart for Corona Factory Tour.

9:30AM – 11:30AM Corona Factory Tour: Tour the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Corona. The 177,000 square-foot facility was built on a nineteen acre site. The entire line of American-made Fender guitars are built at the Corona factory. The tour includes a glimpse into the world-renowned Fender Custom Shop.

11:30AM – 12:30PM Lunch at Corona Factory: During lunch, you will have the opportunity to hear from our Custom Shop Master Builders, who have built instruments for many artists, including: John 5, Billy Gibbons, David Gilmour, John Mayer, Pete Townshend, Joe Walsh and Ron Wood.

1PM – 3PM The Fender Experience: Meet the marketing geniuses responsible for some of the industry’s finest electric guitars, basses, and amps. This interactive presentation will give you a brief indoctrination into the 50-plus year history of Fender Musical Instruments.

3PM Depart Fender Factory for Hotel.

3:30PM – 5:30PM Free time

5:45PM Meet in the lobby, Casual Attire

6PM Depart Hotel for Fender Center

6:30PM – 10PM The Fender University Staff Present an Open Band Jam. Dinner will be served at the Fender Center. Featuring performances by • Gary Hoey • Greg Koch • Tony Franklin • Adam Gust • Fender University Staff

10PM Bus back to hotel.

Friday, March 6th: Class is in Session at Fender Center, Corona, CA.

7AM – 8:30AM Breakfast Buffet at the Hotel, located in the Santa Barbara/Oriental Court.

8:45AM Meet in the lobby, Casual Attire and remember to bring your instrument!

9AM Depart hotel for Fender Center

9:30AM – 10:30AM Instrument Setup: It’s time to get your new axe ready to rock! We’ll help you get your new American Standard instrument set up to your specifications and offer some advice on instrument care and maintenance.

10AM – 10:45AM Artist Introductions: You will meet your professors. Fender has gathered some of the music industry’s finest guitar players to provide you with instruction, from beginners to advanced players. These professors will cover it all!

10:45AM – 11AM Break

11AM – 12PM Fender Presents: Phil Collen Lead guitarist for one of the biggest-selling rock bands to ever grace this planet–the hugely influential, U.K. hit factory known as Def Leppard. Phil Collen has deftly wrung so many classic riffs, solos, parts and progressions from our guitars that it’s impossible to imagine the ’80s and ’90s rock charts without him.

12PM – 12:45PM Lunch at Fender Center:

1PM – 2:30PM Fender Presents: John 5 Featured Lesson in Fender Center Lounge His work is both extensive and eclectic. His range sees him fit into many different genres which makes him hard to label. He has however become one of the best shred guitarists of recent years and has won the admiration of artists such as , Bumblefoot, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani – to list but a few.

3PM Depart Fender Center for Hotel.

3:30PM – 6PM Free time

6PM – 7PM Dinner at Mission Inn served in the Galleria. (Spouses Welcome)

7:15PM Meet in the lobby, Casual Attire (Spouses Welcome)

7:30PM Depart Hotel for Wild West Guitars, Voodoo Lounge

8PM – 10PM Private VIP concert experience featuring ’s Bombastic Meatbats and Philip Sayce. Long-time drummer Chad Smith, guitar star Jeff Kollman, multi-faceted keyboardist Ed Roth, along with Motor City bass ace Kevin Chown, striking out on their own, together as one, in what is easily one of the most accomplished and exciting instrumental outfits to emerge some time: Chad Smith’s Bombastic Meatbats. Philip Sayce - Billboard proclaimed him an "outstanding songwriter and stylish rock guitarist," and as "one to watch." Truly a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience!

Saturday, March 7th: Class is in Session at Fender Center, Corona, CA.

9AM Depart hotel for Fender Center.

9:30AM – 11:30AM Study Hall: Learn from the pros – everything from tuning to soloing. This is your chance to spend some quality time with your instructors and learn something new. We’ll be covering all levels of skill from beginner to advanced – all styles of music. There’ll be something new for everyone to discover. (break during sessions)

11:45AM – 12:30PM Fender Presents: James Burton Best known as Elvis’ guitarist in the later years, James Burton created a blistering Telecaster rockabilly style in the early days of rock ‘n’ roll playing with teen idol Ricky Nelson.

12:30PM – 1:15PM Lunch at Fender Center.

1:30PM – 3PM Fender Presents: A Lecture/Seminar with Producer/Engineer Eddie Kramer Unquestionably, one of the most renowned and well-respected producers/engineers in all of rock history is Eddie Kramer. The amount of legendary rock artists he has worked with over his long and illustrious career is staggering -- the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, , and Kiss lead his long list of credits, as well as the original Woodstock soundtrack.

3PM Depart Fender Center for Hotel.

3:30PM – 5:45PM Free time

5:45PM Meet in the lobby, Business Casual Attire and you might want to bring a sweater or jacket since dinner will be served outside. (Spouses Welcome)

6PM Depart Hotel for Fullerton

6PM – 10PM Fullerton Museum - You will enjoy a tour of Fender’s historical past. Take a journey to some of the original sites Leo Fender began his business over 60 years ago, including an exclusive tour at the Fullerton Museum presented by Richard Smith featuring the Leo Fender exhibit. Dinner will be served at the Fullerton Museum on the patio. You will be joined by Richard Smith and Tom Wheeler, two of Fender Musical Instruments greatest historians.

Sunday, March 8th: Class is in Session at Fender Center.

7AM – 8:30AM Breakfast Buffet at the Hotel, located in the Santa Barbara/Oriental Court.

9AM Depart hotel for Fender Center.

9AM – 10AM Study Hall: Get your morning off to a great start with a warm up and practice session with your professors. You’ll get plenty of help to get every last note nailed. And if you are up for it, a jam session later this afternoon with fellow classmates and your professors.

10AM – 10:15AM Break

10:30AM – 12PM Fender Presents: Robert Knight, legendary photographer to the rock stars talks about his awe-inspiring career. As a student at Fender University, you’ll get the most genuine rock and roll souvenir, your photo taken by this legendary artist. Robert’s career spans from 1968 's to the present. Robert is best known for his "Guitar Legend" archive, having worked with such artists as Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, to such contemporary artists as John Mayer, Tom Morello, and John-5.

12PM – 1PM Lunch at Fender Center

1PM – 2:30PM Fender Presents: G.E. Smith with James Burton One of the most in-demand blues/rock guitarists in the world is a mysterious character who goes by the name of G.E. Smith. Millions of TV viewers know his face -- and the shock of unruly blond ponytail that was always falling across it -- from his 10 years (1985-1995) of fronting the Saturday Night Live band.

2PM – 3PM Study Hall: Last chance for you to practice the jam songs and get prepared for the Open Jam Session.

3PM – 3:30PM Break

3:30PM – 4:30PM Open Jam Session at Fender Center. Time to put all that practicing to good use! You’ll have the chance to take center stage along side your classmates and professors. If you would rather get a little more instruction, there will be some professors available to you.

5PM Depart Fender Center for Hotel.

6:30PM – 10PM Graduation Night at the Mission inn: Casual – Business/Casual Attire (Spouses Welcome) 6:30PM Enjoy drinks and appetizers at the Atrio, located outside the Galleria on the 1st floor. 7PM Dinner is served inside the Galleria. 9PM Graduation Ceremony: Now that you have officially been initiated into the Fender Family, Fender University will present you with a very rockin’ diploma for completing your course work. You’ll enjoy one final and very worthy performance featuring Willy Porter. A Porter performance simply must be seen and heard to be believed, because while he is charmingly unassuming off stage, he’s something else entirely when show time rolls around.

Monday, March 9th: Class Dismissed! Transportation to airports provided by Fender University Staff.
