Programs & Services Gateway Rush Soccer offers programs and services that are crucial to the development of young soccer players and to the growth of a successful youth soccer club. Listed below are the Rush Soccer programs and services that are provided to our membership. The difference between Programs & Services are as follows: 1. Services are offered to the local cubs by Rush Soccer, and have no timeline associated with the individual service. ​ ​ 2. Services Description

Cedar Stars Rush – Created through a historic collaboration between Cedar Stars Academy and Rush Soccer, Cedar Stars ​ ​ Rush, the Bergen County, N.J. based USL League Two franchise, is one of the premier soccer clubs in the region. USL League two is the highest level of development soccer in the U.S., and Cedar Stars Rush is a proud participant. The club is home to a number of top players from around the world that are focused on taking the necessary steps towards the professional game.

Top youth players from around the Rush that are also collegiate athletes participate with this elite level team.

Rush Select – This Rush Select program is an international program in which Rush Soccer forms Select teams (All-Star ​ ​ teams) that are comprised of the top Rush players from across all of our domestic and international branches in the U13-U17 age groups. These teams attend various events, both domestic and international, on a yearly basis. The players get to see new ideas, meet new coaches and make new friends. These are some of the top players in Rush, both national and international, getting together to compete in tournaments in the U.S. and even abroad. Rush Fest - Rush Fest is a five day Rush specific soccer camp in Colorado. Rush Fest is arguably the best program that is ​ offered within the club for the U12 age group. The event is an exciting festival, starting with an opening ceremony attended by over a 1200 players and parents. Over the five days the teams play four competitive games (held in the morning), 3 training sessions (in the afternoon), and 3 classroom sessions (also in the afternoon). In addition in the evenings there are social events for the players including a closing ceremony, a disco/gift exchange. Rush Fest ranges in numbers, but will usually expect over 50 teams. This is a wonderful opportunity for young players to get to meet other players from across the Rush Nation, be saturated in the Rush Way philosophy, provide players, coaches and parent opportunities to learn about the Rush.

The College Advisory Program (CAP) Gateway – The College Advisory or CAP Program is designed to help guide and ​ ​ ​ educate players U15 and older through the college selection process. This program is mandatory for Academy teams and optional for Advanced teams and players. The club averages millions of dollars that are awarded each year to both the male, and the female students. Before starting this program make sure the players are truly on the path to the college game. Assess the quality of the class or classes to come before setting a standard the players cannot fulfill. In addition, Rush Soccer hosts College Exposure Camps to help colleges to observe and work with potential recruits within ​ ​ Rush.

CAP will also work with the International Director to assist in connecting the dots to American College

Summit - The Rush Summit is a conference each year that all coaches from the Rush Soccer organization meet at a ​ centralized location to share the Rush Way Philosophy. This three day event is held in conjunction with the Rush Fest in Colorado. Anyone is welcome. This past year we were lucky enough to have a youth coach from Real Madrid conduct a presentation and training session, Steve Nicol ex Liverpool and Scotland International as well as previous MLS coach with the New England Revolution hold a Q&A as well as a field session, Jerome de Bontin GM of the New York Red Bulls, and Laurent Papillon who is heavily involved with UEFA and the French Football Federation.

REACH – REACH, Rush Equipment Assisting Children, is a program dedicated to assisting our international Rush partner clubs ​ by providing much needed Rush uniforms and equipment. Rush Soccer asks their members to donate new and used soccer equipment, such as balls, shoes, shin guards and uniforms so they can be distributed throughout the world to needy children. Volunteers and donations from companies that assist Rush with the packaging and shipping of these items is paramount in the success of this program. REACH was highlighted on Good Morning America, USA Today and CBS News. In addition to the aforementioned service, our players who volunteer to assist in REACH, called OutREACH Players have the opportunity to travel abroad to conduct humanitarian services with our Rush Partners around the world.

Rush Travel - In 2011, the Rush Travel program was established exclusively for our Rush Soccer membership. Our goal? To ​ ​ ​ save your team money and alleviate the challenge of team travel planning. Tournament lodging & vans for teams and groups are our specialty. Rush Soccer teams will receive the lowest possible prices on group reservations, with minimal involvement and work from team managers. Web-site – Rush offer a template website to all of our partners. The Rush web site has an enormous amount of information ​ ​ for staff, coaches, parents and players. A portion of the web is controlled by Rush Headquarters, while the majority is maintained locally. Our partnership is with Dicks Sporting Goods Team started in January 2017. At Rush Soccer, we provide support to all of the webmasters for each local club.

International Exchange – Rush Soccer has brought in many international players from our Rush Partners oversee. The ​ players are hosted in a guest house for a period of time and then return home. The length of stay varies from 10 days to 6 months. The cultural exchange program has been a wonderful benefit to individual, teams and the impact can spreads to through out the club in most cases as these friendships are built.

Coaching Education/Exchange – Rush Soccer provides great resources for its coaches. Through our Coaching Education ​ and Exchange programs we provide informations for coaching of all ability and experience levels. Working with Colorado Rush and the Titan House (see below) we can set up coaching exchange programs where we will host foreign coaches for extended periods of time. We also have the ability to set up our domestic coaches to work in foreign clubs. Sharing our resources we can provide more for our coaches than any other club in the world. Each year, the Rush organize an event for coaches to participate in. To date we have visited France, Holland, Germany and Spain. The events are for anyone in the Rush organization that has the time and money!

Rush Juggling (KEEP IT UP) - The Keep it up/Juggling program is designed to motivate and enhance player’s ability and ​ ​ ​ comfort juggling the ball. The “Keep It Up” program challenges players to improve their juggling skills. The program is honor system/checked by coach based. There are four levels within the juggling program. All levels receive recognition on the club website. The three highest levels receive a T-shirt with levels differentiated by a different color.

International Sports Tours with Bravo Sports Bravo Sports Tours is honored to be the official partner of Rush soccer. Each travel package to Europe is custom and are always carefully designed to create great value and to meet the goals of the trip. Our 27 years experienced leadership team has access to top facilities, tournaments, training sessions and games with the world’s most recognized clubs. Our effective fundraiser allows each players to raise $2000 + to put toward their trip. Rush Female Coaches Alliance The Rush Female Coaches Alliance develops and enhances opportunities for female coaches within Rush, with the goal of increasing representation and supporting coach development. RFCA's purpose is to provide mentorship, development resources, and educational opportunities to Rush clubs to recruit and retain more female coaches, assist with licensing, and encourage female coaches to be leaders in the game.

Guest Playing/Player Loan Program – Rush Soccer facilitates a guest playing system that is quite popular. Whether the ​ player is looking to guest play, or a coach needs to fill a spot on a roster, we have placed hundreds of players through our network successfully. The program is quite simple, request a tournament, date and location and there is a good chance we can fulfil your needs. More opportunities for growth and bring the Rush together.

Capelli Uniforms and Equipment - Capelli Sport is the official uniform sponsor of Rush Soccer and is able to provide our ​ ​ membership with uniforms and equipment. They have worldwide shipping capabilities and can assist in helping all of our programs around the world look their best in the Rush “R”. St.Benedict’s Preparatory School & Cedar Stars Academy - St.Benedict’s Prep is a distinguished leader in New Jersey in ​ ​ ​ regards to their program and reputation. They emphasize excellence, not only in their sports programs, but their academics and community involvement as well. Through, Cedar Stars Academy, St.Benedict’s Prep provides youth boys the ability to play soccer at a high level and obtain an education simultaneously. In other words, the soccer program at St.Benedicts acts as a gateway for youth boys to play professional soccer with Rush.

Rush Gap Year is an unique opportunity for our high school grads who are taking a year off prior to going to college. Why Take Part in the Rush Gap Year? It is a year long structured travel opportunity! Have the ability to continue to train and play soccer wherever you go! DA Affiliate Program - Rush Soccer allows the top players in Rush clubs that are not currently in the Development Academy ​ to register as discovery players for one of the Rush Clubs that does have a Development Academy Program. Through an online request form, certified by the players Technical Director, Rush Soccer helps connect players with DA clubs to get the experience and benefit of playing in the top youth league in the Nation whilst still be able to play with their local club team.

Coming soon: Rush Soccer is Launching our Progression Manual. Although the manual has been available for some time, Rush Soccer has a dedicated Director of Coaching and Player Development to implement the Progression Manual. The activity will include weekly updates on Session Plan sharing, comments, video, accountability and tracking.

Programs Description

School of Excellence - School of Excellence (SofE) is a seven-week program designed and modeled after the elite programs ​ ​ ​ of European Professional Clubs. School of Excellence programs have existed in many top programs in Europe for the past 30 years. Players like David Beckham, Lionel Messi, Fernando Torres and Cristiano Ronaldo began their careers as soccer-crazed eight year olds. As a direct result of the consistent training that they received through such schools, now they are regarded as the world's elite players. ***Here is the School of Excellence curriculum*** ​ ​

The Center - The Center is a before school program that is tailored toward the athlete that wants more. The Center runs for ​ an hour session and is all technique based. A local club’s best technical coach should lead this program. It is all about refining a player's ability on the ball.

Tutor – The Tutor program simply means anyone in the Rush has the opportunity to train with any team in the Rush. The ​ Rush encourages players to play at a higher level within their age group or at an older age group. This is a core program in the manipulation of the training environment for the growth of individual player within the club. Elite girls should be sent to play with boys. Elite boys should be pushed up one two three age groups depending on ability.

Elite Program – The Elite Training program is designed for players that possess unique talents and characteristics – both the ​ passion and the ability. The unique talents are the player’s technical abilities within the game of soccer. This individual is gifted and consistently performs in the top percent of their respective team both in games and training. The unique characteristics are traits such as desire, dedication, self motivation, intelligence, punctuality, and leadership to name a few. In a nutshell, he/she has a passion to excel. The Elite program is open to all ages but is limited to those players selected by the head coach. Approximately 25 athletes participate, and all progress is logged in the Player Training log. ​ ​ Blue Friday - This program is a combination of a multitude of programs offered by a club. The goal of having this type of ​ ​ ​ program is to promote club unity. A local club should choose their best three or four programs and then host them all in one place at the same time. This allows the kids to see and notice that they are apart of something bigger. When players and parents see this, they will find more passion for their club.

RASL - This program targets all adults interested in learning and enjoying the game of soccer. The goal of RASL is to educate ​ ​ ​ recreational coaches, parents and anyone interested in getting more out of the game through both teaching and creating a competitive environment. The sessions run for seven consecutive Friday's Mid-March through early May. Each session is 75 minutes with the first 30 minutes scheduled for training and drills, and the last 45 minutes for league play. The trainings are designed so that the participants learn basic skills and drills that can be easily translated into the coaching of recreational players and a better understanding of the game. New training topics will be introduced each week. The league is designed to create a fun and competitive environment allowing participants to get match experience. The men's league will be 7v7 and the women will play 4v4. Through RASL, we to create an environment where the love of the game is passed from one generation to the next!

Mighty Mites/Turbo Tots - The Mighty Mites (U4) and Turbo Tots (U5/U6) programs are a unique opportunity to introduce ​ ​ your child to soccer. It is an eight week program which is run in conjunction with our School of Excellence (U8-U10) program. Mighty Mites and Turbo Tots will give your child a great start to this lifetime sport by engaging motor skills, ball skills, and concepts of small sided games. Sessions are led by Rush Coaching staff and last for 45 minutes. Sessions are formatted to allow parents to participate with their children during the session if required. The emphasis is very firmly on FUN! We feel that kids will be more comfortable and develop faster in this type of environment.

TOPSoccer/Thunder - TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based program for young athletes ​ with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, age 8-19, who has a mental or physical disability.

The Rush Thunder is a member of USYS, Total Outreach Program for Soccer (TOPS). This is a national program for soccer players with special needs and was established to promote the game of soccer in a unique segment of our club’s community. The Thunder will play once a week for eight weeks beginning April 2nd, culminating with a Player-Parents games on the seventh week (May 14th) and a tournament with another TOPS Soccer Program on the eighth week (May 21st). Players on the Thunder team range in ages from U5 to adult, both boys and girls - all ability levels are welcomed. The program is free for all its players with only ONE prerequisite for each player…he or she must want to have fun playing the game of soccer.

Friday Night Finishing - The Friday Night Finishing program is open to higher level players of all ages.Those of Friday Night ​ ​ Finishing is to provide forwards and other attacking players the opportunity for many shooting repetitions in front of goal. Each player gets approximately 80 shots per session and it is our goal not to have more than a 12:1 player to coach ratio. Goalkeepers are selected by the DOC Goalkeeping. This program began has an early morning summer extra for the following individuals, when they were youth players: Mike Piserchio, Justin Neerhof, Conor Casey, David Wagenfuhr, James Riley, and Todd Dunivant. Obviously, the extra effort to train from 7-8:30 am paid off for the players and the club. This program will have an impact on a club’s results at State Cup, Regionals and or any high level event.

Pre-Season Friendlies - The Preseason Friendlies is an event for all competitive teams to participate in prior to the start of ​ the Fall and Spring seasons. The uniqueness of the event circles around the opportunity for Rush teams to play other Rush teams that are a year older or younger, teams in different divisions, as well as girls teams playing boys teams. Oftentimes, the schedule includes matchups that would not happen in the regular season.

Summer/Winter Jam - Rush Summer/Winter Jam is a summer training/game program designed for boys and girls ages 5 to ​ ​ 10 years old. Summer Jam is a five week program beginning late June until late July with sessions being held every Tuesday and Thursday (5:00-6:00pm). Winter Jam has two sessions running mid-November until mid-December, and early January until early February. All Winter Jam sessions are held on Sundays. Every participant will be trained by Rush Staff with volunteer coaches assisting throughout the summer with 30 minutes of instruction and 30 minutes of games. All games will be either 3v3 or 4v4 to allow players more touches on the ball in a short amount of time. Games are very fast paced which makes the experience for each player more unique.

Captains - The Captains program is a leadership program provided by coaches for each team within the competitive branch. ​ ​ The idea of the program is to help develop those players who have real leadership potential into real leaders. The best case scenario is selecting appropriate candidates after their U11 year, and to have one of those three captains still in place when their respective team enters U19.

Goalkeeper Program - The Goalkeeping program is designed for our DOC’s, team coaches and players in the development ​ ​ of our club’s Goalkeepers. The information provided, while comprehensive, yet not exclusive, is intended to strengthen the knowledge and application of the Goalkeeping position so that this union of players has the best possible opportunity to be the best in their field. The Goalkeeper program is under the direct control and supervision of the Director of Goalkeeping. These trainings include, but are not limited to, the eight weeks of Staff Training during the fall and spring seasons.

Staff Training - Staff training is a 9 week program for each Division during both Fall and Spring seasons. The DOC’s are ​ ​ responsible for communicating and conducting their divisions staff training. Staff training is currently broken down into four components, 4v4, box on box, divisional scrimmages (Nero vs Azul etc) and 7v7.

Strength & Conditioning - Proper conditioning provides the player with the physical and psychological foundation to meet ​ ​ the requirements of the game. In order to carry out the technical and tactical demands of the game, players must be physically and mentally fit. Without fitness, technique and tactics soon disappear from the game. Physiology, physiology of exercise, nutrition, stretching, rest and recovery are all parts of the total fitness program. Coaches knowledgeable in each area of the discipline are better prepared to enhance a player’s physical capabilities in the game.

Club Development - The Club Level Program is designed as a blueprint to build a Rush Soccer Club from the ground up. The ​ ​ idea is to allow Rush Soccer to help clubs develop a chronological step by step guide of the Administrative, Political and Technical aspects of a Rush club that will build incrementally through the levels. We have a full-time dedicated individual who focuses on assisting the Technical Directors fulfil there local mission.

Titan House - In conjunction with Colorado Rush, Rush Soccer offers a great place for players to stay and train to experience ​ ​ the Rush Way in Colorado. Through this residency program, players will stay with Colorado Rush for extended period of time to immerse themselves in not only the club but the local culture. We have hosted players from all over the world, including Japan, India, Honduras and Belize among many more. Hiro Shimakura (Japan) resident at Titan, “I moved to the Titan House when I was 18. I moved there to learn more than just soccer. I wanted to grow as a person, learn another culture and find some new friends. I ended up living there for 3 years. I left to go back home for family personal issues. I loved my time there. I accomplished what I set for and much more. I will never forget the great memories I had and am forever grateful because it has shaped me into a better person."

Alumni Week - Alumni week is hands down the best week for any Rush Soccer Alumni. Not only is it the week before ​ ​ Christmas, but it is a time when old teammates and coaches can get together, play some amazing soccer “The Rush Way”, and socialize with players and coaches they grew up with. Alumni week should be 4-5 days of soccer, and should be advertised on Social media and on email so they word can get out to all Alumni to come and play great soccer.

Rush Video - The Rush Video Program is a season long program enforced by US Soccer for the Developmental Academy but ​ ​ is also offered by Rush Soccer Clubs to their ECNL and competitive branches. The program will provide professional quality film of Developmental Academy games, per federation rules, as well as provide competitive and ECNL teams the option to purchase film of games they seek access to. This program will be helpful to our players through the recruiting process as well as be beneficial to coaches in their ability to educate their teams and individual players.
