SUBJECT: P2226 • Barometric Pressure Sensor

OVERVIEW: This bulletin involves replacing the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) due to a P2226 Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).

2018 (BU) Renegade 2018 (FB) 500X 2018 (KL) Jeep Cherokee 2018 (MP) Jeep Compass

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: NAFTA, APAC, LATAM and EMEA. NOTE: This bulletin applies to KL vehicles built on or after November 14, 2017 (MDH 1114XX) and on or before January 02, 2018 (MDH 0102XX) equipped with a 2.4L I4 Multiair Engine (Sales Codes ED6 or ED8). NOTE: This bulletin applies to BU vehicles built on or after February 02, 2018 (MDH 0202XX) and on or before March 09, 2018 (MDH 0309XX) equipped with a 2.4L I4 Multiair Engine (Sales Codes ED6 or ED8). NOTE: **This bulletin applies to FB vehicles built on or after January 24, 2018 (MDH 0124XX) and on or before March 09, 2018 (MDH 0309XX) equipped with a 2.4L I4 Multiair Engine (Sales Codes ED6 or ED8).** NOTE: This bulletin applies to MP vehicles built on or after **November 20, 2017 (MDH 1120XX)** and on or before January 04, 2018 (MDH 0104XX) equipped with a 2.4L I4 Zero EVAP M•Air Engine W/ESS (Sales Code EDE). 18•060•18 REV. SYMPTOM/CONDITION: Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle may go into limp in mode due to an inaccurate barometric pressure sensor reading. Upon further investigation, the technician may find the following Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) has been set: • P2226 • Barometric Pressure Sensor.

DIAGNOSIS: Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH 2) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If any DTCs or symptom conditions, other than the one listed above is present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin. If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. If any vehicle not on the VIN list exhibits the symptom/condition or DTC, perform normal diagnosis. This RRT only applies to vehicles on the RRT VIN list.

REPAIR PROCEDURE: 1. Replace the powertrain control module. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT> TechCONNECT under: 08 • Electrical/8E • Electronic Control Modules/ Module, Powertrain Control (PCM)/Removal and Installation. 2. Using the scan tool (wiTECH 2) clear all DTCs that may have been set while performing this procedure.

POLICY: Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
