It is a colorful bird with a distinctive facial pattern and a mottled brown back. The male has blue-gray wings and the female has mottled brown wings. Though common throughout North America, they are frequently spotted in Yellowstone National Park. They have many nicknames, such as ‘K-bird’, ‘sparrow hawk’, and ‘Mom’s falcon’. Administration • 80% of respondents were established in the year 2000 or later. • 82% of respondents describe themselves as a Community Cinema or Film Society. • Community Cinemas and Film Societies were seen as different by 60% of respondents, with the main cited differences being in administration (open vs membership organisations) and programming. • Staff or volunteers from just under two thirds (64%) of responding organisations attended an event aimed at film exhibitors. • 18% of respondents had paid members of staff. • Most respondents (80%) used just one venue for all of their screenings, and almost half (45%) of respondents’ primary venues were village halls or community centres. • Over a third (35%) of responding groups purchased equipment during the relevant period. Audience, Membership and Admission • The average audience size was 56, which is a decrease from 75 reported in both 2009 and 2014. • Despite the lower average audience size, admissions seem to have risen; the average total number of admissions this year was 2,383, up from 1,360 in 2009 and 1,891 in 2014. • Just 15% of groups reported a decrease in their audience size. -

Internationally known for its historical collections, the AHC first and foremost serves the students and citizens of Wyoming. The AHC sponsors a wide range of scholarly and popular programs including lectures, symposia, and exhibits. A place where both experts and novices engage with the original sources of history, access to the AHC is free and open to all. Collections at the AHC go beyond both the borders of Wyoming and the region, and support a wide range of research and teachings activities in the humanities, sciences, arts, business, and education. Major areas of collecting include Wyoming and the American West, the mining and petroleum industries, environment and natural resources, journalism, military history, transportation, the history of books, and 20th century entertainment such as popular music, radio, television, and film. The total archival holdings of the AHC are roughly 75,000 cubic feet (the equivalent of 18 miles) of material. The Toppan Rare Books Library holds more than 60,000 items from medieval illuminated manuscripts to the 21st century. Subject strengths include the American West, British and American literature, early exploration of North America, religion, hunting and fishing, natural history, women authors, and the book arts. -

UW-PARKSIDE FOREIGN FILM SERIES 2018-2019 Dear Patron, The 37th consecutive season of the UW-Parkside Foreign Film Series (FFS) includes 14 internationally acclaimed films, including François Truffaut’s classic first feature filmThe 400 Blows (France, 1959), the 2018 Oscar winner for Best Foreign Language Film, A Fantastic Woman (Chile, 2017), and three other films that made the Oscar shortlist. The other films in the program have been recognized for excellence in numerous international film festivals and competitions around the world such as the Asian Film Awards, Venice Film Festival, Golden Globes, and Cannes Film Festival. For film lovers who are new to the UW-Parkside Foreign Film Series, be aware that admission is by season subscription only. Tickets are not available for individual films. At less than $2 per film, a season subscription is an outstanding entertainment bargain. In addition, all season ticket holders will receive three free guest passes. We recommend that you order your season tickets as soon as possible. Our most popular show times, Thursday 7:30 pm, Friday 7:30 pm, and Saturday 5:00 pm, have sold out for a number of years running.
