BMW MODEL YEAR ACTIONS. JULY AND AUGUST 2014.

BMW Model Year Actions – July and August 2014 This Product News contains information on the forthcoming July and August 2014 product actions for all models across the BMW and BMW i brands.

July actions are effective from production week 27, July 2014 .

August actions for Plant Spartanburg production models (F15 X5, F25 X3 and F26 X4) are effective from production week 32, August 2014.

Insurance Group Ratings Insurance group ratings for all new models listed below have been submitted to Thatcham for group rating and the results will be published in due course.

Online Product libraries The online Product Libraries have been updated to include all of the information outlined below and will be published week commencing 12 May 2014. The Product Libraries can be found under the Product Knowledge section of the Dealer Infonet.

System updates IVS and SA3 will be updated on 9 May 2014. Updates to FAMOS and Autoline will follow in due course.

When ordering, please ensure that you select a Config / Build date of 01/07/2014 or later in SA3, and target July 2014 production onwards using a suitable delivery date.

For Plant Spartanburg production models (F15 X5, F25 X3 and F26 X4), please ensure that you select a Config / Build date of 01/08/2014 or later in SA3, and target August 2014 production onwards using a suitable delivery date.

Sales Literature Online copies of the price list will be available via the InfoNet in early July, with auto-issued printed price lists expected early August 2014. More information will be communicated in a separate Marketing Bulletin. Brochures will follow in late July to August.

BMW 1 SERIES SPORTS HATCH [F20/F21] – EFFECTIVE JULY 2014.

Key changes. - Introduction of the new generation of BMW Navigation (606) which features improvements to the processor, graphics and other hardware and is now available for just £595 across the BMW 1 Series Sports Hatch range, offering excellent customer value for an advanced, integrated navigation system. This represents a £300 saving versus the outgoing system. - Bluetooth hands-free facility (6NH) now features Bluetooth audio streaming as standard in conjunction with a compatible device.

Thanks to innovative BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, the new generation of the 4-cylinder diesel engine features high degrees of dynamism, low consumption and fulfils the strict exhaust emissions standard EU6. While the latest generation common rail direct injection reduces consumption, the turbocharger with variable turbine geometry increases power and response behaviour. The new BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder diesel engine B47 has Best in Class figures with respect to CO2 and consumption and is available from 07/2014.

BMW CONNECTED DRIVE.

Full availability of the new generation Business Navigation system.

Following the initial introduction of the new BMW Business Navigation system (option 606) on 3 Series and 4 Series models from March and as part of the standard equipment of all new X3 and X4 models from April 2014, the impressive new system is now available on the wider BMW model range from July.

As specified in the relevant Product sections above, the new system will be available for the following Series from week 27, July production:

- 1 Series (F20/F21) - 2 Series (F22) - 5 Series (F10/F11/F07)

The updated system combines improved graphics, enhanced processing speeds and extended functionality to deliver an extremely competent built-in navigation and multimedia system. For more detailed information please refer to Product News Bulletin PN-14-G-18306 issued earlier this year.

We are also pleased to advise that the new system is offered at a reduced price on 1 Series and 2 Series models. As part of the optional Media package – Business (ZNB) the new generation system is available for just £595.

New BMW Professional radio system.

A brand new BMW Professional radio system (663) is introduced from July 2014 and is included as standard on the following Series:

- 1 Series (F20/F21) - 2 Series (F22) - 3 Series (F30/F31/F34) - 4 Series (F32/F33/F36 SE and Sport models)

This marks a key technical milestone since its introduction completes a new generation of head units available across the model range (excluding E84 and E89 models). All three multimedia systems (BMW Professional radio, Navigation Business and Professional) are now aligned on a new, modern platform.

The new and improved BMW Professional radio includes enhanced graphics and animations combined with more efficient processing speeds for an all-round better user experience. Multimedia and connectivity functionalities have also evolved with greater compatibility for mobile and MP3 devices (please see below for specific updates on Bluetooth functions).

Bluetooth improvements.

The introduction of the new BMW Professional radio enables improvements in our BMW Bluetooth offer which yield more consistent functions that should help to reduce complexity.

Bluetooth audio streaming.

From July 2014, the wireless playback of music over Bluetooth is now supported with option 6NH, Bluetooth with hands-free facility and USB audio interface in combination with all three multimedia systems:

- BMW Professional radio - Navigation – BMW Business - Navigation – BMW Professional

Therefore, from July Bluetooth audio streaming becomes a standard functionality on all BMW models except for 1 Series ES, X1 and Z4 models. Please note that this functionality does depend on the mobile device being used. Details on Bluetooth compatibility can be found by visiting the ‘Owners’ area at www.bmw.co.uk.

The level of functionality supported with option 6NS, Enhanced Bluetooth with USB audio interface is now also consistent across all multimedia systems. A summary of functions is outlined in the following table (excludes E84 and E89 models):

Online Entertainment.

A special price offer for Online Entertainment (option 6FV) is available from July 2014 when ordered in combination with a harman kardon or Bang & Olufsen sound system.

For a 12-month period only, Online Entertainment will be available at a reduced price of £190 when ordered in combination with the following options – resulting in a customer saving of £135:

Online Entertainment is an innovative music service that enables unlimited music streaming directly from a BMW without the need for mobile or MP3 player. It currently remains the first direct-to-car music streaming service in Europe.
