Cameron joined us after playing 37 first-class matches and 57 one-day games for his native state South Australia. The 29 year old opened the batting in round one against Northern District at Oval and was run out for seven off 12 balls backing up.

By his own standards Cameron had a poor season averaging just on 14. While his best score was an important 41 against Sutherland in the Qualifying Final the only other totals of note were 35 and 28 in the two games before that. His best two scores were in Twenty20 matches where he has made himself something of a specialist in that form of the game. His 51 against and 87 versus Easts was an indication of his expertise in such matches as was his membership of the Big Bash League team.

Apart from the Big Bash competition Cameron played in the New Zealand Domestic T20 for Wellington, the Bangladesh Premier League for Rangpur Riders and the Sri Lankan Premier League for Basnahira Dundee thus restricting his availability for Sydney to just 10 matches.

With the Big Bash League providing Cameron an opportunity to again line up for Randwick Petersham in 2013-14, he played in two games but because of the dominance of the side in winning both matches easily, did not get a chance to bat.
