Opening in 2012 The New Northwest Baseball Facility Construction to Begin Spring of 2011 Stadium to be located near the intersection of McCormick & Cherry on the northwest side of campus

The 2011 season will be Purdue’s last at Lambert Field. The new northwest baseball facility is set to open for the 2012 home opener. The $21 million baseball stadium, to be financed with athletics department funds, could eventually seat up to 2,500 spectators in the first phase of improvements to the Northwest Athletics Complex that includes the adjacent soccer facility. The intercollegiate baseball stadium will replace the existing 1,100-seat Lambert Field, which has been the team’s home since 1965. Purdue will close out Lambert Field this year with an eight-game homestand from May 11-21, highlighted by series against and Iowa.
