Jeong Yak-yong, one of the most fundamental philosophers and politicians in the Joseon Dynasty, made this machine in order to move heavy materials in the construction field of Suwon castle in 1792. It is widely regarded that using the ‘Geo JoongGi’ was very helpful to shorten the construction period and reduce the cost of construction of the castle. In this respect, the Organizing Committee chooses the image of the ‘Geo JoongGi’ to represent the Korea and Multibody Systems.
