Whilst restrictions in late May have begun to marginally ease, I imagine most of you have had little or no access to your boats for many weeks. I hope that as we roll into the summer, we will all be able to get out onto the water, even in limited circumstances. Thank you for renewing your subscription, or if you have recently become a member, a warm welcome Association Regalia aboard. As most you will know, we normally issue our full colour printed version of the yearbook in early May. As the lockdown continued, with our printers not able to work, it became apparent that we would have to issue the yearbook in a different format this year. Hence this PDF version sent to you by email. Like myself, I know that many of you will keep the yearbook on board – please bear with us for 2020 and print a version should you wish to do so. We hope normal service will be resumed for our 2021 edition. As always, please complete your profile information via the website. In line with GDPR, this information gathering and updating is now firmly in your hands, but we do need the information to fully populate the yearbook. Association Ties Regretfully, much of the Association’s rally season has already been curtailed – such a shame after a Pennants, ties and badges are full year of events in 2019 and more so for the branch chairman, who spend many winter days £6.00 each normally on sale at SSOA functions arranging the local programmes, only to see them falling away. I very much hope we will be able to Navy with red/gold deliver at least one or two later in the year, but only time will tell if this is possible. We will, of course, be in touch once we know and give as much notice as possible if we can confirm dates. Please also logo check the branch pages on the website and look out for announcements on our Facebook page for all Navy with pale Order directly from the SSOA Shop the details. blue/gold logo on the Website at Our membership continues to thrive, the forum (including all legacy posts) is lively and informative and Association Facebook is working well for instant comment and sharing. Pennant https://sadlerandstarlight.co.uk Following our successful 2019 AGM at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club (with the East Coast branch), this year we are heading to the West Country Branch area. Please note the date for the 2020 AGM is 14th £15.00 each with easy payment online November at Salcombe Yacht Club. I very much hope we will be allowed to gather by then and details will be emailed in due course. With an afternoon AGM, we will have a guest speaker and host a dinner at the Yacht Club in the evening. Broach/Badge I am keen to add more member content to the website, so share with us your blogs, reports and £4.00 each maintenance solutions. As always, the ongoing and future working archive of the Association lies with Gilt and pale blue you, the membership. We also now have more historical archive to add in the coming months. enamel Perhaps most importantly right now, continue to keep safe and well. "Voile & Voiliers" (French magazine) sailed an ETAP 21i with through-hull fittings open in a single day from Calais to Dover and back. Average speed: 5 knots in a 20 knot breeze. Since its foundation 40 years ago, ETAP's aim is to build the safest sailing yachts in the world . Besides selecting superb materials and paying close attention to ergonomics, we feel it imperative that ETAP yachts should be made unsinkable.
