If a painting is big and fills your vision, how does that affect you? Is it overwhelming or immersive? If it’s small and it draws you in to look closer, what does that do? Does it make you feel larger or is it slightly off-putting? In his lecture, Professor Michael Farrell will discuss the issue of scale and how artists utilize the largeness or smallness of a work of art. Professor Farrell believes that there is a profound difference between looking and seeing. Bob’s affiliation with the FIA began 50 years ago, as a volunteer through the Friends of Modern Art at the first Art Fair. Art was integral to the lives of both Bob and his late wife, Judy. His enthusiasm for art manifested in multiple ways: traveling, participating in studio classes, collecting contemporary prints, and observing beauty.
