OneAsia was formed in 2009 by the Golf Association, the PGA of Australia, the Korea Golf Association and the Korea PGA. It is the first time a tour has existed that stretches across the whole Asia-Pacific and it allows the region’s best to gain access to million-dollar events. It is also now regularly joint-sanctioning events with Japan.

FIJIAN HISTORIC EVENT

The Prime Minister of Fiji, Voreqe Bainimarama, and the PGA of Australia have announced plans to stage Fiji’s largest and most acclaimed sporting event to date, the Fiji International Golf Tournament.

On Thursday 19 September, the Prime Minister signed the MOU to host the Fiji International for a five year period with a guaranteed minimum prize-purse of US$1 million. The Prime Minister stated;

“The signing of today’s MOU is a significant moment for Fiji because it demonstrates that the PGA has faith in our country to hold one of its major events. Faith in our infrastructure. Faith in our economy. And faith in our people. I am here to say that we are equal to the opportunity and look forward to a strong and lasting relationship with the PGA.”

This is the first step towards adding the new jewel in the OneAsia crown – The Fiji International!
