I am yet again delighted to bring you this e-newsletter for the months of January and February, 2020 I feel overjoyed that the College is taking regular strides in improving its academic activities consistently. Of the array of activities the College has been engaged into, I feel especially pleased and contented about the college organizing MMS Seminar Competition in Mathematics, organized by Marathwada Mathematical Society. I am also feel ecstatic for the students of English who bagged prizes in R.K. Narayan Festival 2020, The last two months were indeed eventful especially due to events of Sprark 2020 and I expect the tempo to raise in months to come by.

Celebration of “World Hindi Day” by Department of Hindi

The Hindi department celebrated “World Hindi Day” on 18th January 2020. On the occasion essay competition was conducted for the students. The participated students and winners of competition were honoured by giving certificates at the hands of the dignitaries. The Chairperson of the program was Dr. D. K. Swami vice-principal of the college, Mr. Rajesh Iyengar and Dr. S.K. Hapgunde were the Key Speakers as well as Chief Guests. Dr. K P. Baheti. HOD of Hindi introduced the session and Mr. M. B. Lute expressed his vote of thanks. The programme was graced with the presence of students from various classes and Dr. Raut S. D. graced the function being present for the programme.

Actual interview 4. Aptitude test. NIIT, Asia’s no. 1 Global Talent Development Corporation and ICICI Bank, ’s largest private sector group. NIIT intends to create a global talent pool for modern banking, insurance, financial services and accounting professionals. Total 54 candidates were present, out of that 16 candidates got selected.

Entrepreneur skill Development Programme

Department of Commerce has organised Entreprenuer skill Development programme on

27/01/2020 at Indira Madhav Auditorium, of college. Asst. Prof. Dr. M.S. Rode was the Chief Guest for the Entrepreneurial Skills Development program. Dr. M.S. Rode Sir stated the importance of Entrepreneurial skills Development for new business concept and how to start entrepreneurship and what type of strategy to be developed for achieving a profitable business, while a business is going on at that time values of business policies must be framed precisely for B.Com Students. Rode Sir has answered all the questions of the students. The programme was graced by Principal Dr. K.R. Gangakhedkar (President) and Dr. G.T. Waghmare(Co-Ordinator) Entrepreneur skill development. The programme was anchored by Miss. Lajwanti Chauhan and Vote of thanks is expressed by Adv. Mahesh Bang. Total 107 students are present.

Seminar on Cost and Management Accountancy

Department of Commerce has organized Seminar on Cost and Management Accountancy Course for the commerce students of the college. Students of B.com 1st,2nd & 3rd year st nd students along with M.Com 1 & 2 year students attended and interacted with chief guest. Mr. Parag Mane ( Chairman, Training & Education Aurangabad Chapter , Institute of Cost Accounts of India) was the chief guest of the said program. Dr. G.T. Waghmare, Head, Department of Commerece felicitated to the guest by offering the book. In his valuable speech Mr. Parag Mane focus upon various minute elements in respect of theme of the prog ramme. Post Graduate Department of Commerce has organized one day Workshop for M.Com. IInd Year students on 30th January 2020. The workshop was entitled as “How to Draft

Research Project Work”. Dr. H.S. Patange , Head, Department of Commerce, Yashwant Mahavidyalaya, was invited as Key

Speaker for the workshop. Dr. G.T. Waghmare, Head, Department of Commerce felicitated to the guest by offering the book. While addressing to the students, Dr. Patange elaborated research methodology and he also emphasise on R.P.W. Values and its importance in academic life. Asst.

Essay Writing Competition

Department of Commerce has organised essay writing competition on

25/12/2019 on the play ground of Pratibha Niketan college, Nanded .The main aim of this academic event is that the students should sharpen their discriptive writing skills, imagination power along with knowledge of the current affairs in the country. The topic for essay writing was ‘’Goods and Service Tax and its impact on small scale industries’’. Total 65 students from B.com First, Second & Final year were participated in the event. Ramola Shette obtained 1st rank where as Sayeda Saniya M. and Ashwini Jilhawar received 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

Achivement of Harshvardhan Jaju

Mr. Harshvardhan Sanjay Jaju a 11th Commerce student of our college stood 12th in the

Nantional level ICAI Commerce Wizard Talent

Search 2019 examination. The brilant student is currentely doing his CA foundation classes.This feat is an addition to his glorious past when he stood first in SSC examination in the Nanded Division of CBSE Board.

Harshwardhan is a son of Snehal & Sanjay Jagu(C.A.) and grandson of shri Sitaramgi Jaju. Harshvardhan gives credit of his grand success to his grandmother ‘Leela Jaju’.

Certificate Course in Human Rights

A Certificate course in the subject “Human Rights” was organised during 20th December 2019 to 10th January 2020 by Department of Political Science and Public Administration. Certificate distribution of this course was arranged on 15th January 2020 in the ICT hall of the college. Mr. Pradeep Nagapurkar was invited for the Certificate Distribution function for this Course. While speaking on this event Mr. Pradeep Nagapurkar stressed upon the importance of human rights in the life of human being. The function was presided over by Dr. D.K. Swamy, Vice Principal and Dr. P.V. Lonikar, Vice Principal graced the same as a Chief Guest. Dr.K. R. Gangakhedkar, Principal was the driving force and inspiration behind the organization of the Certificate course in the Human Rights along with Mr. R. K. Pathak, Member of the Pratibha Niketan Society. Dr. D. S. Waghmare, Head Department of Public Administration was the convenor of this Certificate course. For the successful completion of this course, Dr. Shrikant Kendre, and Ms. Pallavi Joshi have taken exceptional efforts. The Prize Distribution Function was compared by Dr. Mamta Deshmukh and vote of thanks was offered by Dr. Shrikant Kendre.

Organization of Seminar on Budget 2020

A Seminar on Budget-2020 is organized by the Department of Economics on 14th February 2020 in the ICT Hall of the college. The programme was conducted by the B.A. III year students of Economics subject. The object was to become familiar with core features of Budget 2020. The Introduction session of the programme was conducted by Sunil Khude, followed by the topic presentation of students Nandkishor Wartalkar, Abhijit Kadam, Chitra Pupulwad and Akash Kudmute on the subject Budget: Concept and Historical Background, Composition of Budget, Provision for agriculture in the Budget, provision for Education sector, provision of service sector. In addition to that, students also discussed about the specialities of Budget. Dr Neelkant Patil, Head of Department of Economics, presented gifts to students as an encouragement for their participation. The seminar was attended by Dr. Rajesh Kunturkar and Dr. Shivraj Aundhekar.

Seminar on “Philosophy of Gurudev Ranade and Value Education”

Pratibha Niketan Mahavidyalaya with the collaboration of Samyak Kushal Pratishtan, th Nanded has organised one day seminar in the college on 25 January 2020. “Philosophy of Gurudev Ranade and Value Education” this was the topic of said seminar. The seminar took place at college auditorium from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. The function was presided over by Principal Dr. K. R. Gangakhedkar. The same was inaugurated with Deep Prajvalan and garlanding the photo of Gurudev Ranade. Chief Guest of the programme was famous Educationist Dr. Ujwala Sadawarte. The topic was introduced by Dr. U.G. Kumthekar, the president of Samyak Kushal Prathsitan, Nanded. In the technical session Dr. Ashwini Jog who was resource person from Solapur introduced the audience with work of Gurudev Ranade, where as another resource Person Mayuresh Danke an eminent Psychologist and consultant who highlighted philosophical aspects of Gurudev Randes teachings and its relevance with Value Education.Dr. Gangakhedkar in his Presidential Adress invited attention to the need of Value Education. Dr. Vaishali Goswami anchored the programme. Mr. R. S. Iyenger and other members of Samayak Pratishtan along with Teaching & Non teaching staff of college contributed for the success of the seminar.

Seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights”

Keeping in view, the importance of

Intellectual Property Rights, on 29th January 2020, Department of Library organized a One Day Seminar on the Intellectual Property Rights for the teachers of college. Advocate Chandrashekher Deshmukh , an eminent Legal Expert from Nanded city was invited for the inauguration programme of the seminar. Principal Dr. K.R.Gangakhedkar presided over the said function with the special presence of Shri R. K. Pathak. After the inauguration of seminar, the first technical session commenced. Dr. U.G. Kumthekar was invited as a resource person for this session. He put light on the topic “ Intellectual Property Rights and Traditional Knowledge” . In the next technical Session Mr.Rajesh Iyengar was invited as a resource person. He expressed his views on the theme “Legal Perspectives Under Intellectual Property Rights”. He presented the session with a Power Point Presentation which enlightened the legal aspects with more clarity. After the technical session, an open discussion session was held to address the doubts regarding the legal aspects of the topic. In t he end, a Valedictory function was completed in the presence of Dr. Tasneem Anjum, Vice Principal of college. Total 56 teachers of college were present for the seminar.

Prize Distribution of “Vedic Mathematics Certificate Course”

Certificate Course in Vedic Mathematics

was organized during 18th December to 27th December 2019 by the Department of Mathematics. This certificate course was concluded with the internal exam of students. To motivate the students, three prizes of worth Rs. 900/- Rs.700/- and Rs.400/- were sponsored by Bhagyalaxmi Bank Nanded. The Prize distribution programme of Vedic Mathematic Certificate Exam was held on 26th January 2020 in Indira Madhav Auditorium of the college. Mr. Prabhakarrao Mahajan,Vice President of Bhagyalaxmi Bank, Nanded was the guest for the prize distribution programme. Ms. Payal Pensalwar received first Prize of worth Rs.900/- whereas Mr. Dattatraya Dakore (Rs.700/-) and Mr. Vishal Thorat (Rs.400/-) received second and third prize respectively.

Three prizes in R. K. Narayan National Festival 2020

Students of Department of English participated in R.K. Narayan Festival 2020, organized by Maharashtra Udaygiri College, Udgir, on 11 February 2020. Students participated in Quiz, Storytelling and wall poster competitions. In quiz, the team of Varun Chandel, Payal Pensalwar and Harshada Markunde bagged the first prize while the team of Saniya

Deshmukh, Gopal Singewar and Dinesh Srashe won the third prize. In the individual performance of storytelling, Saniya Deshmukh clinched the third prize. Vice Principal Dr. Tasneem Anjum, Dr. Swati Tande, Mr. G.B. Hambarde and Mrs. Swapna Yohan encouraged and guided these students. Nanded Regional Seminar Competition in Mathematics

This year Nanded regional seminar competition of Marathwada Mathematical Society was organized in Pratibha Niketan Mahavidyalaya Nanded on 28th & 29th January 2020. Participants from various colleges in Parbhani and Nanded districts presented their topics on

Mathematics & Applications. Inaugural function was presided over by the Principal of College Dr.K.R. Gangakhedkar. Dr.R.N. Ingle Principal from B.S. College Basmath was invited as the Chief Guest. Dr. B.D.Karande from M.U. College Udgir and Dr. Vinod Kulkarni from Sawarkar

Mahavidyalaya, Beed were invited as examiners for the seminar competition. Joint Secretary of MMS Prof.B.B. Kulkarni was present to conduct seminar competition smoothly. Regional Co- ordinator Dr. V.C. Borkar also was present & graced the function. For the prize distribution

Final Level MMS Seminar Competition in

Mathematics, organized by Marathwada Mathematical Society was held on 11th February 2020 at N.E.S. Science College, Nanded. Total 16 students from the various colleges of Marathwada region had participated in this competition and presented their topics. Student of our college Ms. Pooja Madhavrao Solanke, studying in B.Sc II Yr presented seminar on the topic ‘Geometrical Proofs of Some Mathematical Results’ got 2nd Prize with Prize Amount Rs. 900/- and Certificate in the memory of Dr. K. S. Bharuka. Principal of college Dr. K.R.Gangakhedkar, Vice Principal Dr. D.K. Swamy, Joint Secretary of MMS Prof. B. B. Kulkarni, Prof. Bhandwalkar, Prof. Jannawar, Prof. Sai Yadav congratulated Pooja Solanke.

One day Study Tour by Department of History

The department of History organised a Study Tour to Kandhar district Nanded on 8th Feburary 2020 for the students of M.A. First year. The main aim of the tour was to observe and study historical sites of the Kandhar. Near about 50 students participated in the study tour along with Dr. Rahul Varvantikar, Head of the department of History, Dr. Kanchanmala Baheti, Head of the department of Hindi, Dr. Parag Saley and Mr. Komal Kalbande. The tour team left at 08.00 am from the college campus and proceeded towards Kandhar. The team first visited Department of History, College Kandhar, where well known writer and Head Dr. Anil Kathare welcomed team. He also gave detailed information about Kandhar. Then team further proceeded towards the famous Dargah of Kandhar. After the team visited Rashtrakuta Bhavan, where the students observed and studied various statues and other things which were found in the excavation. In the actual visit of fort, students found various attributes of Rashtrakuta King Krishna III. The fort is extremely difficult for the rulers to conquer it. Apart from its strong structure the fort is known for its spots like Jinsi Gate and the Machhali Gate. Lal Mahal and Darbar Mahal are worth a visit. Despite of tight schedule students enjoyed lot. The team reached at 06.00pm at the college campus.

Volunteers Represented College in the State Level Camps.

One of the NSS volunteers of the college unit Mr. Datta Tambde has represented the college in the State Level Camp held at Roha Dist Raigad , Maharashtra. The camp was organized on the occasion of “Fit India” movement started by the government of India under the Ministry of Sports And Youth Affairs. Mr. Datta Tambde actively participated and successfully completed the camp during 12-012020 to 18-01-2020. He received a certificate of participation and merit.

Two girl volunteers, Neha Thorat and Rohini Thorat participated in the state level camp organized at Ulhasnagar Dist Thane. The theme of the camp was “Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat” and organized during 15.01.2020 to 20.01.2020. . NSS Volunteers Represents the University at National Level

One of the important achievements of the NSS unit for the academic year 2019-20 is the participation of the volunteer in the National level, National Integration Camp. Mr. Mangesh Sasane one of the volunteer has represented the college and university at national Level camp held during

24th February to 1st of March 2020 at Bengaluru, Karnataka. He as an active volunteer performed various activities at college and University level in different departments like Sports, Cultural, academic etc. Therefore he got selected for the National camp at the university and successfully completed the camp as well. He received the certificate of participation and excellence in the camp activities. The camp was Organized by Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt. Of India at NSS Regional Directorate, Bangalore on the them “National Integration-2020”.

13.01.2020 Vice Chancellor Dr. Udhav Bhosle had appealed the NSS units in the city to hold Cleanliness drive on the Campus of Swamy

participated along with Programme Officer and District (Nanded) Co-coordinator of SRTM University Nanded Mr. M. B. Lute. Students

actively participated and made the event successful by putting their all out efforts.

Awareness Rally for Voters on the Voters Day

On the occasion of Voters Day on 24th January 2020 National service scheme (NSS) unit of

Pratibha Niketan Mahavidyalaya, Nanded organized the Voters Awareness Rally. All the volunteers of the unit participated in the rally. The route of the rally was from College gate--Mahavir chauk--Vazirabad--S.P.Office--Tiranga Chauk -- Gujarati High School To College gate. About 100 students participated in the rally. Slogans were used by the students to awaken the voters about their right to vote. Honourable Principal Dr. K. R. Gangakhedkar welcomed the rally in the S. P. office Chauk and boosted the confidence of students by congratulating them to participate in such a noble work for the nation building. The rally was lead by NSS Programme Officers M. B. Participation in National Integration Camp

Datta Tambde one of the bright volunteers of the college represented the College as well as

University in the regional camp on National Integration held at Nagpur. Maharashtra during 17th to 23rd February 2020. The camp was organized by Ministry Of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India NSS and Regional Directorate, Nagpur. Mr. Tambde has participated in the various activities organized by the college and university at various levels. Hence he got the opportunity to represent University at the regional level which is a proud moment for the college. . Visit of Eminent Marathi Author Sudhir Rasal

An eminent Author, Reviewer in Marathi Literature Shri Sudhir Rasal visited to College on 08 th February 2020 to discuss various aspects of Marathi Literature with Principal Dr. S. D. Mahajan, who is also a prominent personality in Marathi Literature. Shri Sudhir Rasal was also in Quest of Rare Marathi Literature, with this regard he visited to college Library. Principal S. D. Mahajan showed him the section of Marathi literature along with other section of other rare books. Mr. Rasal expressed his happiness and satisfaction about the holdings of library and also suggest an effective measures to Librarian. Principal Dr. K. R. Celebration of “Marathi RajBhasha Din”

Eminent Marathi Poet, Playwright, Novelist and Short Story writer Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar (Kusumagraj) whose birth anniversary is celebrated as “ Day” or “Marathi RajBhasha Din” in Maharashtra and Goa state. This day is celebrated in our college by department of Marathi on 27th February 2020. Dr. K. P. Baheti, Head department of Hindi was the chief guest for the programme. Dr. P. Neelkantrao, Mr. M.B. Lute, Dr. R. D. Varvantikar, Dr. D. S. Waghmare, Dr. Rajesh Kunturkar, Dr. Rajesh Chalikwar and other staff were present for the programme. For the success of the programme, students of B.A. Second and B.A. Third Year took efforts under the guidance Dr. Bharat Kachare and Mr. V.D. Jadhav.

Participation in Workshop on “Outcome based NAAC Accreditation”

Two faculties of this college namely Principal Dr. K. R. Gangakhedkar and Dr. P.

Neelkantrao participated in one day Workshop titled “Outcome based NAAC Accreditation” jointly organised by Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University

Nanded and Joint Director of Higher Education Nanded region, Nanded on 24th February 2020. This workshop was divided into three sessions besides inaugural session; two sessions were conducted by Dr. Rathod (Resource Person from Mumbai) and Dr. V.N. Laturkar (Nanded).

Smooth Conduction of H.S.C. Board Examination .

The college was an exam center for Latur Board HSC Feb.2020 Examination. The exam was th th held between 18 Feb. 2020 to 17 March 2020. A total of 700 students appeared from the college center. The exam was conducted in two sessions i.e. 11.00 am to 02.00 pm and 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm. Mr. V. V. Ghongade took charge as the Exam Superintendent where as Mr. B.K. Yashwantkar was his assistant. The examination was smoothly conducted under the able guidance of Dr. P.V. Lonikar,Vice Principal of the college. There were in all 32 invigilators allotted from Yashwant Mahavidyalaya, Nanded for our college center. The exam center was visited by the vigilance team of the Education Department time and again consisting of Mr. Salgare, Education Officer and Mr. Nizam Shaikh, Extension Officer of Zilla Parishad. The exams were held in accordance with the strict disciplinary code enforced by the Board.

Study Tour of Arts Faculty

Three day study tour for students of Arts faculty has been successfully finished between 17.02.2020 to 19.02.2020. The tour was organized to historical places like Aurangabad, Verul, Ajantha & Khultabad under the supervision of Dr. K. P. Baheti. The supportive team includes Prof. M. B. Lute, Dr. Shivaraj Aundhekar, Dr. Megha Pathak & Mr. Komal Kalbande. Total 35 students were part of the study tour. The tour was departed towards Aurangabad by Railway on 17th Feb. 2020. On the first day team viewed famous Biwi Ka Makbara, Devgiri Fort, world famous Ellora Caves , Ghrishneshwar Temple, Bhadra Maruti Temple. On the next day team headed towards the Ajanta Caves and after it team visited to Babashaeb Ambedkar Marathwada University. Then after the return journey commenced and team came to Nanded on 19th Feb. 2020.

Retirement of Mr. Mahadu Suryawanshi

Mr. Mahadu Suryawanshi , a senior class-4 employee retired on Superannuation on 28th

February 2020. A send-off function was held on the afternoon of 28th Feb. 2020. The function was attended by all the teaching and non teaching staff in large numbers. The function was presided over by Dr. Kishor Gangakhedkar, Principal of the college, with august presence of of Mr. Rajesh Pathak, Member of Pratibha Niketan Education Society, Nanded. The Programme was anchored by Mr. Rajesh Iyengar, Office Superintendent. Dr. P.V. Lonikar, Vice Principal and Mr. S.B. Joshi

articulated their perspectives on this occasion. Teaching and non teaching staff of the college was present for the programme. At the end of Programme, Mr. K. P. Rathod expressed his vote of thanks.

SPARK 2020 : College Festival

College festivals are very precious to every student, as it is in the prime youth that students get excellent opportunities to enjoy and display their talents. Spark, the annual college festival organised by the Pratibha Niketan Mahavidyalaya, Nanded, is a festival where students from all faculties take a three day break from the daily curriculum to indulge into live music, talent show and competitions. This year Spark festival comes with a brand new theme where students expected the unexpected. The three days festival was arranged between 30 January to 1st February 2020, brings new theme titled 'A Fun and Frolic Ride'. On the 30 th Jan, there was a pre festival show for the students showing Hollywood thriller movie -Speed. It was followed by Chalta Bolta, Nail Arts , For and Against, PPT Presentation, Best out of Waste and Soap Carving. 31st January began on a very auspicious note with official inauguration of the festival by our principal Dr. Kishor Gangakhedkar by releasing balloons in the air. After that there was Musical show followed by Portrait Shayari, Quiz Time and Baidbaj Ghazals. The 1st February started with a Musical Fishpond and remaining events like Aap ki Adalat and Fashion Show. The afternoon session was reserved for the award and talent show, in which Classical Dance, Western Dance, Folk Songs etc. were performed by the students. The winners were encouraged with medals and certificates almost for the entire events. This festival enjoys massive publicity and popularity and is a true delight for every college student because of its refreshing experience. Spark definitely looks the most interesting festival to attend and explore, this year, among college festivals in Nanded.
