Minister also inaugurated NIDAN (National Inherited Diseases Administration) Kendras, which is being supported by Department of Biotechnology (DBT), M/o Science and Technology. Taking into account that congenital and hereditary genetic diseases are becoming a significant health burden in India and realizing the need for adequate and effective genetic testing and counselling services. As a part of this initiative, in the first phase, five NIDAN Kendras have been established to provide comprehensive clinical care.

IAMAI has assured the Commission that the platforms will cooperate in ensuring the conduct of free and fair elections. During the election period,social media platforms took action on 909 violative cases, reported by the ECI. contribution to Unity and Integrity of India The Award seeks to recognize notable and inspiring contributions to promote the cause of national unity and integrity and to reinforce the value of a strong and united India. The award will be announced on the occasion of the National Unity Day, i.e. the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel on 31st October.

22 Sep India, Pakistan, China participate in Russia's annual military drill TSENTR 2019 The military drills take place annually but Russia has upped the ante this year by inviting forces from China, India and Pakistan as well as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Russia is carrying out massive multinational military exercise with participation from China, India and Pakistan among other countries from September 16 to 21. Three citizen-centric services of the Chandigarh Police, in Chandigarh, was launched by the Union Minister for Home Affairs, Shri Amit Shah which included the services of Emergency Response Support System (ERSS - Dial 112), ‘E-Beat Book’ System and the ‘E-Saathi App’. ERSS is one of the key projects of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs under the Nirbhaya Fund. The ‘Dial 112’ emergency response service is an initiative to strengthen proactive community policing that would end confusion amongst distress callers, who at times end up dialing 100 in fire or medical emergency cases. The ‘E-Beat Book’ is a web and mobile-based application which will ease the collection, updating, and analysis of the information related to crime and criminals in a real-time. Chandigarh has been divided into 54 divisions.

They also inaugurated an Exhibition displaying Energy Efficient Technologies for MSME Sector. They also released Energy Conservation Guidelines for MSMEs and launched the Knowledge Management Portal “SIDHIEE” under the BEE’s MSME Programme. This portal will host useful information including fifty videos of multimedia tutorials for MSMEs for early adoption of energy efficient technologies. For developing a long-term roadmap for enhancing energy efficiency and security for the MSME Sector through focused intervention, an MoU for enhancing energy security in MSMEs was also signed between the Development Commissioner, MSME and DG, Bureau of Energy Efficiency.

25 Sep Amit Shah launches portal for private security agency licencing 'Private Security Agency Licensing Portal' will help private agencies in police verification of security guards, expand their business across the country apart from providing other facilities.

A single-window system for issuing licences to private security agencies was launched by the Union home ministry. Now, operators will no longer need to sweat out in the states to seek security clearances and other controlling authority nods. They can just apply online with information and documents sought. The move attempts to streamline the licensing regime with the ministry becoming the dashboard for regulating the industry under The Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005. The online system has features that enables authorities in states and UTs to e-search criminal antecedents for verification of character and other antecedents of applicants through CCTNS before giving licences for private security agencies and employees/guards The portal will be available in all major Indian languages within the next 90 days and have a section so that people know whether the agency they want hire has valid licence or not.

This rate of interest (8.65 per cent) was approved by the EPFO's apex decision making body Central Board of Trustees.

28 Sep Centre to appoint global consultant to sell surplus land of PSUs The process, to be carried out by the NITI Aayog will be a big source of revenue in the next two years.

The Centre wants to sell excess land holdings held by state-run enterprises and the process, to be carried out by the NITI Aayog with the help of the Finance Ministry’s Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM). It will soon be appointing international consultants to help on the same. The list of excess land or non-crore holdings held by the enterprises will be collected and with the administrative ministry under which the company falls. Once identified, the land parcels will be segregated into three categories as clear title, one with non-clarity and also facing hurdles like litigations.

To negotiate the purchase of up to five million tonnes per annum (5 mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Driftwood, concurrent with its equity investment, which remains subject to further due diligence and approval of its board of directors, the two companies, US natural gas company Tellurian Inc. and Petronet LNG Limited (PLL) of India have signed an MoU. Tellurian and Petronet will endeavor to finalize the transaction agreements by March 31, 2020. The Driftwood project includes natural gas production, gathering, processing and transportation facilities, along with Driftwood LNG, a proposed 27.6 mtpa liquefaction export facility that will be located near Lake Charles, Louisiana on the US Gulf Coast.

European aviation major Airbus will provide component support and repair to the A320 fleet of Vistara under its Flight Hour Services - Tailored Support Package (FHS-TSP). The long-term contract inked with the domestic full service carrier will cover engineering and maintenance for 62 aircraft, including 23 existing ones. An on-site Airbus team will support the daily maintenance activities, including spares, warehousing and engineering to ensure the highest standards of aircraft technical dispatch and operations.

27 Sep Himachal Pradesh, NTPC sign MoU to build hydel plants worth Rs 5,300 crore According to an NTPC statement, the Seli (400 MW) and Miyar (120 MW) projects would be set up at the Chenab basin in the Lahaul and Spiti district.

To set up two hydro-power projects in the state, with a cumulative capacity of 520MW, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with the NTPC and Himachal Pradesh government which would require an estimated investment of about Rs 5,300 crore. The MoU with Himachal to set up hydro-power projects comes at a time when NTPC is eyeing to acquire more than 60% stake in SJVN, a joint venture between the central government and Himachal Pradesh. The move is seen to help the thermal power behemoth reach its goal of achieving 32 GW of renewable energy capacity —25% of its installed base — by 2032.

The Central government has appointed Anil Kumar Jain, 1986 batch IAS officer from of the Madhya Pradesh cadre as the new coal secretary by replacing Sumanta Chaudhuri. Jain has been additional secretary, Niti Aayog, where he specialised in the energy sector. The panel had also recommended the revision of a number of Acts to enable offering of coal blocks on exploration- cum-production lines on a revenue-sharing basis.
