The WISD Leos Charter Night at Weber’s Inn proved to be an evening filled with fabulous food, good humor, spontaneous wit and delightful entertainment. And the ceremonies themselves, filled with décor and protocol, were not without their moments – fun things that just happen when you put the energy of young people into the mix. Our dance card is rapidly filling with fun We’re in that transition period when most all events throughout the district. DG Barry A DOCTOR’S EXAMINATION… During a patient's two week follow-up appointment with his cardiologist, he informed me, his doctor, that he was having trouble with one of his medications. 'Which one ?'. .. I asked. 'The patch... The Nurse told me to put on a new one every six hours and now I'm running out of places to put it !' I had him quickly undress and discovered what I hoped I wouldn't see. Yes, the man had over fifty patches on his body! The little league fields will get a complete makeover financed by donations from all the area service clubs and grants from the Wellness Foundation. Blissfield Lions Renovate the Hall of Presidents by Lion Dick Saxton, Club Secretary The Hall Of Presidents within the Blissfiel d Elementary School is a photographic display of the Presidents of the United States. Until the Blissfield Area Lions Club undertook the project to update the four displays, the portrait of President Bill Clinton was the most recent. The displays were totally renovated by removing the old portraits, covering the black backing with flag material, replacing the old gold matting, attaching new updated portraits and reassembling the displays. Lions Dick Saxton, Linda Hamann, Bob Forf and Stan Masters Hanover Horton Leos Launch Website, Prepare for Charter Night What just might be the fastest “Charter-to-Website” launch schedule – at least in this District – the Hanover Horton Leos have utilized the eClubhouse website to get off to a good start with their web presence! To take a look at the website, click here: http://www.e-leoclubhouse.org/sites/hanoverhorton and enjoy! While basic and modest, it has the essentials and plenty of room for future upgrades and expansion. Any club that is interested in setting up a website at e-clubhouse can find more information at www.lionsclubs.org – just type e-clubhouse into the search field (upper right)! This month, Hanover Horton Leos have their Charter Night to look forward to. The event will be held April 15 th at the Hanover Horton Middle School from 6PM to 8PM. For more information see the flier on page 6. - 4 - Michigan Lions District 11-B1 Newsletter April 2014 Homer Lions Raffling ½ Hogs for Boy & Cub Scouts. The Homer Lions are currently sponsoring a raffle that will benefit the Homer Boy Scout Troop and Cub Scout Pack. The raffle prizes will be 1/2 hogs and the drawing date will be at the May 12 business meeting.
