Playlist De Joël Mars 2014 Cette Musique Est Une Gigue Irlandaise Le mot de Joël. Voici le mois de mars : celui du printemps et de la St Patrick cher aux irlandais. Rendons-leur hommage par ces belles musiques qui vous permettront aussi de danser. Un petit coucou à Séverine Fillon que l'on embrasse avec la musique de ‘’Green Grass from Ireland.’’ Playlist de Joël Mars 2014 01 - THE IRISH WASHERWOMAN - CELTIC LEGENDS Cette musique est une gigue irlandaise dont la mélodie est familière à beaucoup de gens dans les îles britanniques et en Amérique du Nord. Le refrain est repris plusieurs fois parfois en augmentant graduellement le tempo avant d'être joué très vite et d’arriver à un arrêt brusque. La mélodie a des paroles, mais plus généralement c’est instrumental. 02 - TOSS THE FEATHERS - THE CORRS The Corrs est un groupe pop irlandais aux fortes influences celtiques, dont les membres sont un frère et trois sœurs. Andrea, Sharon, Caroline et Jim. Les quatre membres du groupe font partie de la famille Corrs, et sont nés à Dundalk en Irlande, dans le comté de Louth. Leur premier album, Forgiven, Not Forgotten, un subtil mélange de tradition irlandaise et de musique pop, a eu son plus grand succès en Australie. Les chansons les plus connues sont ‘’Runaway’’ et ‘’Forgiven Not Forgotten.’’ 03 - WHERE THE GRASS GROWS THE GREENEST - CC COOPER * C.C. Cooper * est une chanteuse de Country Music Irlandaise. Elle a reçu plusieurs Awards, en particulier en 2012 avec l’artiste féminine Irlandaise de l’année. 04 - CELTIC ROCK - DAVID KING Dave King né le 11 Décembre 1961 à Dublin, est un chanteur irlandais, auteur principal et parolier pour le groupe irlando-américain Flogging Molly. Il était auparavant connu comme le chanteur d’un groupe de hard rock des années 1980. 05 - FIERY NIGHTS - RONAN HARDIMAN Ronan Hardiman né le 15 mai 1961 à Dublin est un compositeur irlandais, rendu célèbre par ses bandes musicales des spectacles de danse de Michael Flatley, Lord of the Dance, Feet of Flames and Celtic Tiger Live. Fiery Nights se trouve sur l’album Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance. 06 - COONEY'S REEL - IRISH KIND OF Créé en 2008, le trio Irish Kind Of a joué dans de nombreux concerts et festivals, en France et à l'étranger. Il s’est produit notamment en Bretagne à l'occasion du Festival Inter celtique de Lorient et en Irlande à Dublin, au Temple Bar. A cette occasion, le trio a enregistré son premier album « Live in Dublin » en novembre 2009. La flûte, le violon, le chant et la guitare se mêlent avec enthousiasme dans les reels, les polkas, les balades et les slides. 07 - THE MORNING DEW - MICHAEL COLEMAN Michael Coleman est né à Knockgrania, près de Ballymote dans le comté de Sligo en Irlande. Enfant, il apprend la danse traditionnelle irlandaise et la technique du violon et se produit dans les maisons du voisinage. Dans le domaine du violon, James Scott Skinner eut une grande influence sur son jeu. 08 - DUELLING VIOLINS - RONAN HARDIMAN Duelling Violins fait partie de l’album : ‘’ Michael Flatley’s Feet of Flames ‘’. 09 - GET THE HELL AWAY - CELKILT Les Celkilt, un look déjanté, une musique entre celtique et hard rock qui décape, voilà le groupe. Habillés avec des kilts, le groupe Celkit utilise des guitares, des violons et des instruments venus tout droit d'Ecosse. 10 - SUITE IRLANDAISE - ALAN STIVELL Alan Stivell, né le 6 janvier 1944 à Riom en Auvergne, est un auteur-compositeur- interprète et musicien français qui milite pour la reconnaissance culturelle, linguistique et politique de la Bretagne. Chanteur, il est aussi multi-instrumentiste : bombarde, cornemuse écossaise, tin whistle, synthés et surtout harpe celtique. The meal concluded a three-session seminar given by seminarian Kendrah McDonald on sharing your faith with one another and in the world. The Sharing Your Faith meal centered around cards containing faith questions to answer. Participants divided into two tables and then divided the cards into two parts. Each person looked through the cards and picked one he or she wanted to answer. Someone would share for three minutes and then the group would move on to the next person. There were no questions or comments, just sharing. After everyone had shared once, participants switched the cards and shared again. “We learned things about one another we didn’t know regarding what our faith experiences had been like growing up and what they are now. The meal and conversation were rewarding. Several people said they would like to do it again, so we will plan one for the near future,” said Rev. Ann Barker.     About Our Orchestra Weston Youth Orchestra was established in 1958 to provide an environment for young musicians to improve their performance skills through playing in an orchestra. Many former members have gone on to forge careers within the world of music, including conducting and performing with the world’s top orchestras, arranging and composing music as well as playing for West End shows. In 2010 Nigel Hess, a former orchestra member and prominent composer of television and film scores, became the orchestra’s president. We are run solely by volunteers, and are a self-funding organisation whose running costs are paid for by public performances and annual membership fees. On average we perform four full concerts each year. Repertoire for these is primarily sourced from our own library. He remained in this role for a number of years, whilst his wife Sue acted as secretary, until he retired in 2009. His support of WYO, and his help and encouragement to its members, will be greatly missed. Frances Dewar Frances Dewar was a violinist, and later leader, of the orchestra in the 1980s. She went on to study violin at the Royal College of Music, where she won all the chamber music prizes and gave a recital with her quartet on Classic FM.

    Anne Buckley Anne Buckley wurde am 22. September in Dublin, Irland, geboren. Im zarten Alter von 4 Jahren begann sie mit ihrem Musikunterricht, ebenso spielte sie Piano, tanzte Ballett und nahm Schauspielunterricht. Sie studierte mit Dr. Veronica Dunne in Dublin am College of Music und später mit Elisabeth Jarwes an der Leinster School of Music in London Gesang. Nebenbei machte sie wöchentliche Radioaufnahmen und sang mit dem RTE Chamber Choir. 1989 sang sie als Gaststar mit dem Italian Institute Choral Society in Italien. Die Rolle der „Fionnuala“ in Patrick Cassidy’s „Children of Lir“ mit dem RTE Concert Orchestra in Dublin’s National Concert Hall sang Anne 1990. Später setzte sie diese Arbeit mit dem The Irish Sinfonietta in der St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Kiltimagh Cathedral, Sligo und Old South Church, Boston, USA. Zusammen mit dem The RTE Concert Orchestra und The Palestrina Choir sang sie 1991 Mozarts Coronation Mass, ein Ereignis, das in ganz Europa im Fernsehen übertragen wurde. Auch für ihre zahlreichen Werbeauftritte ist Anne in den USA und im Vereinigten Königreich bekannt, darunter Connaught Gold Butter, Road safety Campaign, Bushmills Whiskey und Bose. Ihre Fernsehauftritte beinhalten “Songs of Praise” und “Go for it” auf BBC, “Live at Three”, “Kenny Live”, “The Late Late Show”, “Billy's Christmas Box”, “Music of the Night”, “Bi Bi Baskin” auf RTE und “Brisant” auf ARD. Im September 1992 hatte Anne ihr Solodebüt in der National Concert Hall in Dublin zusammen mit dem RTE Concert Orchestra. Als Solistin trat sie mit vielen großen Chören auf, unter anderem mit dem Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, Musica Sacra, Palestrina Boys Choir, Tallis Chamber Choir und dem Boston College Chorale, Boston University.

Abstract This paper firstly reviews recent scholarship on music and identity in Ireland. The review detects and discusses a set of issues around the identification of genre and nationality in a country which continues to experience a rapidly changing population structure, against which the mapping of a communal Irishness onto existing categories such as ‘traditional music’ becomes increasingly difficult. Against the grain of this recent scholarship, the paper argues that, in a postmodern and globalised consumer culture, one of the principal locations of music’s affect is through music synchronised to advertising. Having examined the musical content of a number of television advertisements, the paper concludes that the global culture they represent indicates the comparative dis-location of music, identity and Irishness.
