Th e Legacy Society

Th e Legacy Society is a very special honorary organization within the Foundation. It recognizes those forward thinking individuals who have remembered a fund within the Foundation in their estate planning.

A legacy gift can be made to one or more of the existing funds in the Foundation or can be used to establish a new fund to support the charitable organization of the donor’s choice. Th ere are several ways this can be done. Estate planning vehicles include:

.Benefi ciary Designation of IRA & Qualifi ed Retirement Plans .Bequests in Wills .Charitable Gift Annuities .Charitable Remainder Trust .Charitable Lead Trust .Retained Life Estate .Life Insurance

To learn how you can support your favorite charity for generations to come, contact the Foundation offi ce at (765) 454-7298 or (800) 964-0508 or by e-mail at [email protected].

Current Legacy Society members have already taken steps to provide support to the community until the end of time, and we certainly appreciate their level of commitment.

Scholarship Refl ects Jesse Dunn’s Love of Sports

Th e Jesse W. Dunn Total Eff ort Scholarship Award was established by family and friends of Jesse Dunn in honor of his retirement from Kokomo Gas & Fuel in 1997. Jesse was a graduate of Kokomo High School and became an avid fan of basketball after he saw his fi rst game at the age of 10.

Th e scholarship honors Jesse’s love of sports and his high school as applicants are required to have participated in sports and are nominated by a Kokomo High School coach.

Because of his commitment to sports and family, Jesse only missed two sporting events of his two sons and daughter. Jesse also shared his passion for athletics by volunteering. He served as league vice president for the Northside Little League, coached and managed UCT Little League, and was Kokomo High School’s girls’ basketball assistant coach for 15 years.

Jesse passed away in 2011, but his legacy of generosity, commitment and honor continues through this scholarship.

38 Carroll County Friends In 2011, a group of donors joined the “Friends of Carroll County,” which supports the annual operating expenses of the Carroll County Community Foundation.
