OVERVIEW Southwest Gas is excited to announce that we are currently recruiting for Internship positions in our Engineering Department. Southwest Gas is a natural gas service provider serving more than 1.8 million customers throughout Nevada, Arizona and Southern California.
Role and Responsibilities This is a Summer Engineering Internship program for our Las Vegas, Southern Nevada operations and corporate engineering functions. We are looking for smart, enthusiastic and self- motivated engineering students that have good communication skills, critical thinking skills, are well organized, are detail-oriented and can work independently in a fast-paced environment.
The summer internship program is designed to provide a foundation of technical knowledge and professional experience while giving students the opportunity to learn the business of distributing natural gas. To foster professional growth and development the intern is expected to participate in weekly Lunch and Learns, field trips, and individual and group projects. All interns will provide a summary presentation of lessons learned to Company management at the end of the program. Interns are expected to fulfill a 12 week commitment. This position is 5 days a week for a total of 40 hours a week.

Qualifications and Education Requirements Intern candidate must be an actively enrolled student at an accredited college and/or university and currently enrolled in an engineering degree program Candidates must be in at least their sophomore year and must be majoring in fields related to the Company. Internship positions are filled through our staffing partner; Interns are not direct employees of Southwest Gas. Additionally, candidates must meet the following criteria: o Cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 o Most recent semester/quarter GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 o Unofficial transcript submittal is required with resume Candidates must be in at least their sophomore year and must be majoring in fields related to the Company
