INDEX OF YPS MEMBERS elected 1822-1842

Members were listed fully each year in Jan/Feb/Mar/Apr from 1824 to 1828, then again in 1831, 1834, 1837, 1839 and 1842, following the Annual Reports for the previous year. (NB for some years, the lists are found only in the bound copies of Annual Reports, held at the YPS Lodge.)

Notes Columns 1 and 2 of this index give names, titles, honours, etc., as in the published lists (and occasionally from original minutes). Columns 3 and 6 have been supplied by the compiler of the index. Column 4 gives the member’s address, i.e. city, town or parish from published lists with date of Annual Report, supplemented where known by compiler. Column 5 gives dates of membership, with year of first listing (with month added for 1822-23 only, from Committee minutes). G = year by which member has Gone from published lists (which unfortunately do not list members lost through death, removal or resignation), for example: G 1828 = no longer listed at March 1828; G 1831 = there in March 1828 but not at Apr 1831; G 1834 = there in Apr 1831 but not at Mar 1834, and so on. Column 6: Biographical notes, including years born and died (where known), offices held, and biographical information from sources below and as shown.
