DRIZZLE RAINBOW HAIL THUNDER T.SHOWER T.STORM HAZE

The rain gauge used in observations from 1958 to 1984 was about 2.5 - 3.0 inches square at the top. It was tapered to a smaller size at the bottom that exaggerated the scale more at the bottom than the top. This gauge worked poorly to measure snows particularly if they were more than 3 or 4 inches. This gauge was then replaced with a 4 inch plastic gauge that was scaled in hundredths of an inch on the inside cylinder.
