The ant fauna from the Chaharmahal va Bakhtiari Province of Iran was surveyed. As a result, a total of 28 ant species belonging to 11 genera of Formicidae were collected and identified. Species status is proposed for Messor barbarus subsp. mediosanguineus DONISTHORPE, 1946, the species status of Messor platyceras CRAWLEY, 1920 is restored with Messor platyceras var. rubella CRAWLEY, 1920 as a new synonym of the nominotypical form, and Camponotus oasium ninivae PISARSKI, 1971 is removed from synonyms of Camponotus oasium FOREL, 1890. The genera Messor FOREL, 1890, with seven species and Cataglyphis FÖRSTER, 1850 with six species, have the highest species richness. Messor mediosanguineus DONISTHORPE, 1946, Pheidole koshewnikovi RUZSKY, 1905 and Camponotus oasium ninivae PISARSKI, 1971 were recorded in Iran for the first time. KEY WORDS: ants, faunistics, taxonomy, new national records, new regional records, Chaharmahal va Bakhtiari Province, Iran INTRODUCTION Ants are among the most successful organisms on planet Earth (WILSON 1990). Knowledge of Iranian ants is relatively poor. PAKNIA et al. (2008) reviewed the literature, added new records and provided the first checklist of Iranian ant fauna. Since that time, several faunistic and taxonomic studies have been carried out in various parts of Iran (PAKNIA * Corresponding author: [email protected] 164 Polish Journal of Entomology 88 (2) & KAMI 2007, GHAHARI et al.

  • Evaluation of Response to Hepatitis B Vaccine in Iranian 6–18‑Year‑Old
[Downloaded free from http://www.jmsjournal.net on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, IP: 78.39.35.6] Evaluation of response to hepatitis B vaccine in Iranian 6–18‑year‑old students RTICLE Alizamen Salehifard Jouneghani, Morteza Hashemzadeh Chaleshtori1, Abolfazl Khoshdel2, Soleiman Kheiri3, A Effat Farrokhi1, Pooran Khalafian4, Zahra Aliyari4 Department of Pediatrics, Clinical Research Development Unit, Hajar Hospital, 1Cellular and Molecular Research Center, 2Clinical Research Development Unit, Hajar Hospital, 3Biostatistics and Epidemiology Department, Faculty of Health, 4Chaharmahal Va Bakhtiari Province Health Center, Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences, Shahrekord, Iran Background: Hepatitis B is a dangerous disease with high morbidity and mortality rates all around the world. Vaccination is the most important way to its prevention and control. This cross‑sectional study was carried out to study the levels of immunogenicity to RIGINAL hepatitis B vaccine in students. Materials and Methods: Six hundred and forty‑four students aged 6–18 years including 316 girls and 328 boys were selected from the Chaharmahal Va Bakhtiari province. Selected students had been received three doses of recombinant O vaccine (0, 1, and 6 months). Blood samples were taken and the titers of hepatitis B surface antigen were studied. Results: From a total of 644 students, 396 (61.5%) had a titer lesser than 10 mIu/ml and 248 (38.5%) had a titer higher than 10 mIu/ml. Therefore, the level of respond to vaccine with 95% confidence was 38.5% (34.7%–42.4%). Levels of respond to vaccine were related to age, body mass index (BMI), and educational level and were not related to sex and habit of students.

Conclusion: Reverse significant relation was seen between the respond to vaccine and age and BMI in a way which the titers of antibody were lower in students with higher age and BMI.

The Received 17th June, 2014 objective of this study was to evaluate of nitrate and nitrite in drinking water of some rural areas of Received in revised form Shahrekord, Iran. We collected 490 drinking water samples from49 villages in the rural areas of th 05 July, 2014 Shahrekord, Iran and analyzed them for NO3-N and NO2-N. Nitrate and nitrite ions were analyzed by Accepted 22nd August, 2014 Spectrophotometer 2100 UV-Vis, at 220 and543nm. The highest (29.94±4.2 4mg/L) and lowest th Published online 18 September, 2014 (9.82±2.6 mg/L) concentrations of nitrate in duration 5years were belonged to Sartashnez and Qaraqush, respectively. The highest (0.069±0.004mg/L) and lowest (0.005±0.001mg/L) Key words: concentrations of nitrite in duration 5years were belonged to Shurab-eShagir and Salm, respectively. In this hypothesis, the larger of the settlement, the more administrative and social services are provided, and thus has a more complex administrative and economic structure than smaller ones.Accordingly, with the aim of determining the central place and hierarchy, the middle and late Chalcolithic sites ofthe Laran districtin the Zayandeh-Roud basin were studied. To determine the central place and hierarchy of settlement in a mountainous area, using GIS and SPSS software and using cluster analysis method, middle and late the Laran district, along with other Zagros valleys, have taken to complex societies, so that there is a two-rank pattern in the middle Chalcolithic periodsites were and classified there is a andthree-rank studied pattern and it was in the determined late Chalcolithic thatsocieties period. of Chalcolithic period in the mountain valleys of Keywords: Zayandeh-Roud Basin; Hierarchy; Central Place; Settlement Patterns; Chalcolithic Sites; Iran Geography and Ecosystem of Laran of -24 °C and the highest recorded temperature in July and August Laran district with a total area of 516.28 km2 is adjacent from with an average of 46 °C [1-8].
