The course was intended to give Afghan judges, attorneys and criminal investigators at Parwan Prison, located adjacent to the military installation, a basic understanding of first aid tech- niques in the event they are attacked while conducting their duties. “We talked about what to do in the event of an emergency,” said Sgt. 1st Class Bartholomew Anderson, the 3rd Inf. Div. RSSB Senior Medic who helped lead the training. “The intent was to show them the right order in which to treat a casualty.” During the course, Anderson identi- fied some of the most life-threatening conditions and demonstrated how to provide immediate care for those condi- tions.
