I'm in two minds about this story in one hand the actual story is very similar to the original with the added extra of the dog in the real world and snow world. He rushes out to build a snowman as in the photograph, but after barely completing his lower body he realises that not enough snow has fallen to complete the task, having already used all the snow in the garden. As Billy realises his discovery, he peers out of the bedroom window and sees that it has begun to snow. Lovely and heartwarming! The story is magical and fantastical-more so than the original. A great Christmas story to extend the love of the movie into story time, it has the same soothing tone and illustrations as the movie and is perfect for bedtime.
