John Bond 2456 Mountain Dr., Bartlesville, OK 74003-6949 [email protected], [email protected], 918-336-3968, 918-815-1007 John cannot attend because he is traveling with five of his grandchildren. John has 8 grandchildren from his two daughters, Rebecca (Becky) and Jennifer, who were both born in Tennessee. They and their husbands are all graduates of University of Oklahoma, so there were tense moments over the last couple of years when they played TENNESSEE! His oldest grandson is 15 and oldest granddaughter is 12. ~ 6 ~

His youngest grandchild (who was born prematurely at 14 oz and is today a smiling, wonderful 1 ½ year old) was called by name on the floor of the US Senate by the Senator from Oklahoma during the battle to defund Planned Parenthood. John considers himself beyond blessed by the family the LORD has given him. After graduating from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, he went to work with TVA in Chattanooga in the Division of Finance as an Analyst/Programmer. Then as a CPA, he was transferred to Knoxville as the Technical Liaison to the Comptroller and later to the Office of Engineering Design and Construction where we designed systems to provide critical path data in the construction of the nuclear plants. After nine years with TVA, it was time for him to strike out on his own. He worked on contracts with TRW in Houston and ADM in Decatur, Illinois. Then a contract in Oklahoma opened up at the headquarters of Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville. It was almost like “homecoming” since his dad owned the Phillips 66 distributorship in Jackson for years. As it turned out, many of the people in Phillips he had met as a teenager were now executives with Phillips in Bartlesville. Two years later, while still in Bartlesville on contract at Phillips, he co-founded Diversified Systems Resources (DSR), a technical services firm supporting large-scale design and programming projects for companies like American Airline, EXXON, and GM. In the early 90s, he acquired 100% ownership of DSR. Over the years, his company has been partners with IBM, ACCENTURE, SPRINT, and AT&T. As a partner with AT&T for broadband communications, today their 300+ employees provide technical services for over 250 projects around the world. And, no, he is NOT retired! He thinks he as a tiger by the tail…. Other interesting things about John….he loves to travel and has been to ALASKA 14 times, including taking my grandson to ride in the 11-mile Ceremonial Start out of Anchorage of the 1000-mile IDITAROD. He has sponsored an IDITAROD team for the last 5 years with four TOP 10 finishes. He is a partner in DENALI ARMS – gun store and firing range. And his blood runs “ORANGE” most Saturdays in the Fall (and his bp is usually high, too!)

He started bridge in about 1980 and he now has about 4700 master points. He started tennis about 25 years ago and has gotten quite good at it for his age (and weight). The middle son and his wife live on the island of Ibiza, off the coast of Spain. The youngest son and his wife and their two sons live in Lake Forest, IL. Their daughter and her husband (a Brit) live in London with their 2 year-old son. Phil and Rebecca save up Frequent Flier miles in order to visit each summer the part of their family which lives “across the pond”. Phil joined the faculty of Covenant Theological Seminary 30 years ago after 12 years of pastoring in the Washington, D.C. area, where he planted three Presbyterian churches (PCA). Since coming to St. Louis, he has started two more Presbyterian churches (PCA) and more recently served for six years as weekend pastor of a local church where he mentored students while continuing to teach full-time at the Seminary. His great joy is taking time to mentor and assist students in clarifying their sense of calling.
