Cal Poly Pomona Music Department Announces Songwriters-in-the-Round Concert Page 2 of 3 • Eleni Mandell has released ten critically acclaimed solo records and three records with her band, The Living Sisters. A native of Los Angeles, she is inspired by the landscape of her hometown and the nation; by words, melodies and even her two children who have toured the country and Europe with her multiple times. Now living in Los Angeles, Sarah is expanding her scope by completing her master of social work degree while teaching music. • Keaton Simons has enjoyed international recognition for his role in the singer-songwriter/pop world while on major labels Maverick and CBS Records. The Los Angeles Times described the voice of their native son as having a “lived-in quality that will echo in our minds and hearts for years to come.” In 2008 Keaton released his first full-length album,Can You Hear Me, co-produced with David Bianco (Tom Petty, Bob Dylan) and in 2013 followed with Beautiful Pain, co-produced with Mikal Blue (Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz). Proving that genres are just a state of mind, Keaton Simons has even had success in the hip hop world as a writer, musical director, singer, bassist and guitarist with notable acts like Chris Cornell, Snoop Dogg, Gnarls Barkley, Tre Hardson of The Pharcyde and underground hip hop legend Medusa. He’s also performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Last Call with Carson Daly and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Keaton’s music is regularly placed in feature films and television shows, includingSuits , Miss Sloane, Sons of Anarchy, Private Practice, NCIS, Malcolm in the Middle and Numb3rs. • Sonja Midtune is a singer songwriter from Minnesota located in Los Angeles. She got her B.A. in Music Theory and Composition at St. Olaf College in MN and studied at La Schola Cantorum in Paris with Juilliard’s Phillip Lassser. Sonja is known for her poignant lyrics and storytelling, with a back to basics style, nodding to the modern pop song style but incorporating her composition skills. She has played all over Los Angeles including the Vibrato Jazz Club in Beverly Hills, House of Blues main stage in Hollywood, the Viper Room, and Bar Lubitsch. Sonja’s live album recorded at Universal Mastering Studios was released in late 2016 and she has a new single coming out Spring 2018. www.sonjamidtune.com • Mara Connor is a singer/songwriter from Los Angeles and a graduate of Vassar College. She just finished recording her debut album in Nashville at the Bomb Shelter with Andrija Tokic (producer of Alabama Shakes) featuring duets with Langhorne Slim & Joseph Arthur. Stay tuned for the music video for her first single “No Fun” this Spring.maraconnor.com Cal Poly Pomona Music Department Announces Songwriters-in-the-Round Concert Page 3 of 3 • Prof. Arthur Winer (host) teaches music technology, the recording arts, songwriting, music business and more in the Music Industry Studies program at Cal Poly Pomona. He is the creator and director of the Songwriter Showcase concert series. Prof. Winer is also the founder and songwriter for the indie rock band MacArthur. MacArthur’s 13 song album The Fall Guy is available at http://macarthur.bandcamp.com . About the Songwriter Showcase ensemble In 2007, Prof. Arthur Winer hosted a master class with acclaimed songwriter Mike Viola. Mike was running a bit late, so Prof. Winer had students go up on stage and perform to pass the time. Prof. Winer quickly realized that students performing original songs would make a fabulous concert, and the Songwriter Showcase emerged. Now, the Songwriter Showcase is an official Music Department ensemble to promote the creativity of Cal Poly Pomona’s student songwriters. Songwriters from throughout the University perform original songs in all styles of popular music accompanied by producers, musicians and vocalists from the Music department. Cal Poly Pomona students must audition original songs to be included in the 15th Songwriter Showcase. This year’s auditions were held January 16th & 17th. The 15th Songwriter Showcase concerts will take place May 17th & 18th, 2018 in the Music Recital Hall. For more information, please contact Prof. Arthur Winer at [email protected]..

  • 2021 Breeze Show Choir Catalog
Previously Arranged Titles (updated 2/24/21) Specific details about each arrangement (including audio samples and cost) are available at https://breezetunes.com . The use of any of these arrangements requires a valid custom arrangement license purchased from https://tresonamusic.com . Their licensing fees typically range from $180 to $280 per song and must be paid before you can receive your music. Copyright approval frequently takes 4-6 weeks, sometimes longer, so plan accordingly. If changes to the arrangement are desired, there is an additional fee of $100. Examples of this include re-voicing (such as from SATB to another voice part), rewriting band parts, making cuts, adding an additional verse, etc. **Arrangements may be transposed into a different key free of charge, provided that the change does not make re-voicing necessary** For songs that do not have vocal rehearsal tracks, these can be created for $150/song. To place an order, send an e-mail to [email protected] or submit a license request on Tresona listing Garrett Breeze as the arranger, Tips for success using Previously Arranged Titles: • Most arrangements can be made to work in any voicing, so don’t be afraid to look at titles written for other combinations of voices than what you have. Most SATB songs, for example, can be easily reworked for SAT. • Remember that show function is one of the most important things to consider when purchasing an arrangement. For example, if something is labelled in the catalog as a Song 2/4, it is probably not going to work as a closer.
