DJ Hektik is internationally known, as an American Southern DJ-artist from New Orleans, Louisiana. For nearly two decades, DJ Hektik has been spinning, mixing, arranging & hosting radio shows, mainstream CD compilations, party-packed concerts and corporate scenarios of all sorts. Proclaimed music-mix monarch, mix-video jockey, composer, and “seasoned” tastemaker, DJ Hektik is widely sought after by a host of arts & entertainment patrons and fellow artists alike. DJ Hektik’s reputation precedes him for his vast knowledge of the latest technologies and unique quality of blending together both classic and contemporary sounds of Jazz, Hip Hop/R&B. Particularly, to his merit DJ Hektik prides himself as co-founder and (only) Music Ambassador of the New Orleans Society of Dance (NOSD); a community centered, cultural-dance organization. DJ Hektik’s central role of resurrecting, & cultivating the company’s signature “Babydoll Ladies” dance-act and once dormant 102-year-old doll masking, tradition (c.1912) is prominently on exhibit in the Presbytere, LA. State Museum, (January 2013 thru 2014). November 2014, DJ Hektik is featured (performing) with the Babydoll Ladies in the MACYS Thanksgiving Day Parade ® (NYC Herald Square). DJ Hektik’s earliest credits of inciting listeners with his “Heksclusive” music-sets, began in 2002 with an artist in residence (ongoing) at the New Orleans based House of Blues venue. To this date, DJ Hektik opens for House Of Blues acts such as "LL Cool J," “Common,” “Music Soul Child,” “Snoop,” “Robin Thicke,” “Doug E. Fresh,” “Angie Stone,” “Black Eyed Peas,” “Pharrell,” and many, many more. In 2003 DJ Hektik landed his first position co-hosting and mixing on New Orleans former KNOU 104.5FM, ultimately airing for three consecutive years. By 2004 his mixed-music works was awarded a Gold (sales) Plaque from King of Crunk/BME Label in commemoration of breaking in most radio spins for the rap album “Welcome To Trille Ville” featuring “Lil Scrappy” & “Trille Ville,” resulting in over 500,000 copies sold worldwide. During this tenure, DJ Hektik began touring the country with various recording artists and earning (distribution) credits as an in-house DJ-artist with Chopper City/Koch Label. Some of DJ Hektik’s notable mixtape releases include “B.G. & DJ Hektik Present: “Built To Last,” which the Source (Hip Hop) Magazine rated "five out of five mics" and the rare mixtape series: “Uptown Veterans,” co- hosted by DJ Hektik, in collaboration with American rappers “Master P,” “Mac,” “Mystikal,” “Juvenile,” and “Birdman” to name a few. DJ Hektik is presently the DJ-artist to several American rappers, including “Turk”, formerly of Cash Money Records. Additionally to his merit, DJ Hektik is currently one of the longest running mix-show DJ’s on New Orleans’ WQUE 93.3 FM’s “504 Radio”. While recurring on ITunes, datpiff.com, livemusic.com as well as Hip Hop Weekly Magazine, select casinos, festivals and special events across the U.S, DJ Hektik is consistently acquiring followers from all walks of life. As a respected authority on DJ Artistry, entrepreneurship and Nola’s bourgeoning “Bounce” vernacular culture, DJ Hektik also conducts educational forums, live demonstrations, and panel discussions at universities, and festivals including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (historic Alison Miner Stage). .
