#movetomobile Welcome to your new fares guide

A feature of our new fares is that we are making things simpler – and we’re doing that in two ways.

First, fares are now based on 4 zones: Bristol, Bath, Weston and West of England. So any tickets that were previously limited to our Bath and Bristol Outer Zone or Weston Outer Zone now cover the complete West of England area. Second, we are launching a flat fare in the Bristol zone, so instead of having to work out whether a single trip will attract the ‘short’ or ‘long’ trip price, it’s just one price for all single journeys. This means we now have a flat fare in Bristol, Bath and Weston-super-Mare.

We’ve also now passed 10 million sales through our mTickets app, which is speeding up journeys and making buying tickets more convenient. Our new fares give further incentive to make the switch, with mTickets providing even better value compared to paying the driver. We also want to make sure that our less frequent travellers can use mTickets, so for the first time you’ll be able to buy a single journey on the mTicket app and save against paying on board.

Even if you haven’t switched to mTickets yet, the guide sets out all the places where you can save by buying before you board, whether that’s online, at our travel shops in Bristol and Bath, at an iPoint at all stops, through the Travelwest Smartcard or at one of over 500 Payzone or PayPoint retail outlets. Wherever you choose to buy, you will always save if you buy before you board.

With singles right through to year tickets, free travel for children under 5, up to 50% off for children 5 or over, up to 30% off for 16-21 year olds and students, and fantastic value from our group tickets, we have a great range of tickets to suit everyone’s needs.

Single tickets

A flat fare structure is in place in the Bristol, Bath and Weston-super-Mare Zones.

This means that wherever you travel in that zone, the price of a single journey will be the same.

In the West of England Zone the cost of your single ticket is based on the route distance you travel.

Your fare is determined by how many sections of route you travel through, as defined by the chart on page 22.

Day and season tickets

If you're making more than one journey on a particular day, or are a regular traveller, these tickets can offer you great savings.

Just decide which area you want to travel in and how long you need your ticket to last. Then once you have your ticket you can use it as much as you like in your chosen period of time, making as many journeys as you need to. Our day tickets are valid until 4.29am the following morning so are perfect for a day and night out!

Group ticket

With this unlimited day ticket up to five people of any age can travel together.

Tickets can be bought after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. And as with all our day tickets, it is valid until 4.29am the following morning.

6 Ticket discounts

Children under 5 travel free

Unlimited children under five can travel for free with each fare-paying adult/student/16-21 year old or concessionary pass holder.

Up to 50% discount for children aged 5-15

Children aged 5-15 can get up to 50% discount on all tickets across the West of England.

We would advise all older children to get a free First Photo ID pass as proof of age. An application form can be found on page 27.

Buy your child's ticket on your phone

Child tickets can also now be bought on one mobile phone and transferred to another with mTickets.

For example if a parent and child both have mobile phones with the mTicket app on, the parent can buy a child ticket on their phone using their credit/debit card and then send it to the child's phone for them to use.

Up to 30% discount for young people and students

Young people (16-21) and students (of any age if in full time education) can get up to 30% discount on all tickets if they have a First Photo ID pass or their student photo ID.
