Universal Music Publishing Group Signs Robbie Williams to Global Administration Deal UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP SIGNS ROBBIE WILLIAMS TO GLOBAL ADMINISTRATION DEAL Home > News > UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP SIGNS ROBBIE WILLIAMS TO GLOBAL ADMINISTRATION DEAL LONDON, November 4, 2019 – Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), a leading global publishing company, today announced the signing of a global administration deal with Robbie Williams’ publishing company, Farrell Music. The agreement includes Robbie Williams’ existing catalogue and future works. British superstar singer/songwriter Robbie Williams is one of the UK’s most prominent entertainers and one of the best-selling artists of all time. He first found massive fame with Take That from 1989 to 1995 and later became a hugely successful solo artist. With Take That, Williams and his bandmates released three multi-platinum hit albums and toured the world to much acclaim. Among their biggest songs include ‘Back For Good’, ‘Patience’, ‘Never Forget’ and ‘Pray’. Setting the stage with his 1997 solo debut ‘Life Thru a Lens’, Williams scored the first of many hit singles with the anthemic ‘Angels,’ an enduring UK classic that became his breakthrough worldwide hit. His second album ‘I’ve Been Expecting You’ was a career peak, certified ten-times platinum and breaking into new markets with the timely ‘Millennium.’ With each successive album, Williams released numerous other number one singles including ‘Rock DJ,’ ‘Somethin’ Stupid,’ and ‘Candy.’ In 2013, Robbie released ‘Swings Both Ways’ which went two-times platinum in the UK, followed by his eleventh album ‘The Heavy Entertainment Show’. The latter debuted at Number 1 in 2016, making him the most successful British solo act in Official Albums Chart history, with over 70 million records sold worldwide. Before the end of 2019 Williams is to release his thirteenth studio album and first Christmas record; a double album of festive covers and original songs. The announcement arrives after news that Robbie will sing the theme song for Channel 4’s Christmas TV adaptation of classic children’s book ‘The Tiger Came To Tea’. On making the announcement, UMPG UK MD Mike McCormack said: “It’s such a pleasure to be reunited with Robbie and his management team at ie: music after so many years. I first signed Robbie as a young, fresh faced member of Take That back in the early 90s when I was at Virgin Music and even then, he was a huge personality and a pleasure to work with. He’s gone on to become a global superstar and an incredible songwriter – so it’s a privilege to represent all these great songs and the new material he will be writing in the future.” Williams has won a staggering 18 Brit Awards (including those won with Take That), more than any other artist in music history, five Ivor Novello Awards, including Songwriter of the Year in 1999 as well as two VMA awards and two NME awards. He was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2004, among many other accolades. In the summer of 2018, Williams performed at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony, issuing ‘Under the Radar, Vol. 2’ (part of his non-album compilation series) a month later. He also joined the judges’ panel for the 15th season of the UK X Factor. A third addition to the ‘Under the Radar’ series arrived in 2019. Williams has toured worldwide performing to thousands of fans. This year, he played spectacular shows at his first ever Las Vegas residency. • Midnight Special Songlist
west coast music Midnight Special Please find attached the Midnight Special song list for your review. SPECIAL DANCES for Weddings: Please note that we will need your special dance requests, (I.E. First Dance, Father/Daughter Dance, Mother/Son Dance etc) FOUR WEEKS in advance prior to your event so that we can confirm that the band will be able to perform the song(s) and that we are able to locate sheet music. In some cases where sheet music is not available or an arrangement for the full band is need- ed, this gives us the time needed to properly prepare the music and learn the material. Clients are not obligated to send in a list of general song requests. Many of our clients ask that the band just react to whatever their guests are responding to on the dance floor. Our clients that do provide us with song requests do so in varying degrees. Most clients give us a handful of songs they want played and avoided. Recently, we’ve noticed in increase in cli- ents customizing what the band plays and doesn’t play with very specific detail. If you de- sire the highest degree of control (allowing the band to only play within the margin of songs requested), we ask for a minimum of 100 requests. We want you to keep in mind that the band is quite good at reading the room and choosing songs that best connect with your guests. The more specific/selective you are, know that there is greater chance of losing certain song medleys, mashups, or newly released material the band has.

  • The Barroom Door Swings Both Ways (09/17/20)
The Barroom Door Swings Both Ways (09/17/20) When I started practicing law, we brought many due process challenges to the actions of government. Due process is found in the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The Fourteenth Amendment, according to the United States Supreme Court jurisprudence imposed due process requirements on the states. An individual is entitled to a fair and impartial hearing from the government when the citizen is deprived of his or her rights. With the evolution of the law from the mid-1970s into the new century, due process was given less respect. Akin to due process is what is sometimes referred to in the law as “substantive” due process. This concept requires the government to act in a rational fashion, and to make decisions that have a discernible relationship to the issues confronting government. The courts routinely dismissed due process and rational relationship claims. The courts gave the government the benefit of a very high hurdle that no horse could jump. The courts said that government actions are “presumed” to be constitutional. It was necessary that there be proof of an intent to deprive a person of constitutional liberties. If the courts could find any articulable “rational relationship” between the harm and government action, the complaining citizen was thrown out of court. Successful due process and rational relationship substantive due process claims became rare. At the same time that hurdles to Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment claims were being erected, the First Amendment was being used to prevent the government from impinging upon the First Amendment religious rights of others.
