Anime St. Louis 2013 Artist Alley Application and Contract

Thank you for choosing St. Louis as a possible spot on your 2013 tour. We pride ourselves on offering a professional show with plenty of selling opportunity for our participating artists. Due to this, we have a different process and rules than other shows. Please read the following parts before applying.

Application/Juried Process

Anime St. Louis uses an application process in choosing our artists for the year, rather than accepting artists on a first come first serve basis. We do this in order to offer an artist alley with a great variety of talents and styles to our attendees. Sending in just the application and contract does not guarantee you a space, and neither does sending only a payment!

Starting this year, we will first invite back artists we would like to attend our event. Please do not share this document with other artists during this time as they may not be on our invite list. If there are spaces remaining after the invite phase, we will then open up registration to other applicants.

Our process works in the following sequence. Please send only your application and contract to start. If you send a payment with it, it will not be cashed until you have been accepted. When we receive your information, we will send you an e-mail to let you know we have gotten the paperwork. We will then review your information to see if your company will be a good fit for the artist alley. Whether you are accepted or declined, we will let you know through e-mail.

Payment

If accepted, we will send you a counter-signed copy of your paperwork and an invoice for your payment. Payment is done through check or money order to the event company only (Dynamic Midwest Events); never with cash or checks made personally to a member of staff. Paypal will only be used in special cases ([email protected] or [email protected]). Sending in only a payment to start does not guarantee you booth space. Once you have been accepted and payment has been processed, your space will be reserved for the event.

About Anime St. Louis and Dynamic Midwest Events

Our event’s unique attendance was over 2,400 in 2011 and over 2,800 in 2012, not counting guests, entertainers, vendors, and staff. 2013 will be our 8th year of operation. Although we focus on anime, we welcome all nerdy interests, including rooms for tabletop and video gaming. Our venue, the Gateway Center, is a venue experienced with the convention scene; having hosted Archon, DieCon, NatsuCon, and us for many years. There is free parking all around and many hotels and restaurants nearby. It is a great place for a show our size.

We also have a new parent company, Dynamic Midwest Events. This company is owned by the same people who run Anime St. Louis, so there have been no changes in ownership. The new parent company

was started as we wish to run more events in the future, and we wanted the new company name to reflect what we are.

Artist Alley Rules

Fan Art: We do allow fan art at Anime St. Louis. All fan made works must be original creations in regards to composition. No items may be sold that contain screenshots or image captures from shows, , etc.

Adult Materials: While the selling of hentai and other 18+ items is allowed, we ask artists to use discretion when displaying these items. We have a good number of attendees who are under the age of 18, who may or may not be with their guardians. Only attendees who are 18 years and older may purchase or see these items.

Noise: Please avoid using excessive noise or disruptive behavior to attract attendees to your booth.

New for 2013, Website Profile

We would like to start a new tradition by allowing artists a chance to promote themselves and their works on our website. All artists in our Artist Alley will be asked to provide a short bio about themselves or their business and their pieces along with pictures of their works. Details about this will be given to each artist when they are accepted. Everyone will be featured like a guest at our show!

Please send the completed application to one of the following addresses:

Dynamic Midwest Events PO Box 470 Morton, IL 61550

If you have any questions, please contact Jeremy Johnson at [email protected]. Thank you!
