Australian Rugby Union - Media Update AUSTRALIAN RUGBY UNION - MEDIA UPDATE AUSTRALIAN RUGBY - Highlights Of The Week Ahead The RaboDirect Rebels will kick off Round 13 of the Asteron Life Super Rugby Competition on Friday evening when they host the Hurricanes at AAMI Park. Saturdaywill bring a mouth-watering clash in the nation's capital when the University of Canberra Brumbies take on the Sharks for top spot on the overall ladder at GIO Stadium. It doesn't stop there, as Nick Cummins and the Western Force embark on a Rugby safari to South Africa for a clash with the Cheetahs in the early hours ofSunday morning. On behalf of its members, Australia's professional Rugby players, RUPA has in 2017 been particularly vocal in advocating for the retention of all five Australian Super Rugby teams as being in the best interests of Rugby in Australia. Throughout the Australian Rugby Union and SANZAAR's protracted process to reduce the number of Australian teams competing in the Super Rugby competition beyond 2017 from five to four, RUPA has been more prevalent in our media presence and commentary than has been our recent nature. We have expressed our organisational views and those of players' collectively in numerous media articles and interviews this year.
