Dear Deremia:

On behalf of the TriangleEastern NC Chapter of -.:Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF),I would like to thank you and Mix 101.5 for your involvement with our 2003 Walk to Cure Diabetes. With your help we were able to increase awareness about the Walk and in return spreading our mission of curing diabetes.

Over 5,000 people attended Walk Day and your contribution helped us produce an event that was a pleasant experience for all participants. The weather was perfect and the atmosphere was festive, which allowed us to hold a great celebration. The grand total raised, as of today, is $490,000 and we are still counting! With your help, the Walk to Cure Diabetes continues to be one of the largest and most successful walks in our area.

The mission of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is to find cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. In a typical year, 85 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and education about research. Your donation helps us to maintain this high level of excellence and to this we are extremely grateful.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Therefore, your donation is fully tax- deductible to the extent of the law.

We look forward to your involvement in next year’s Walk to Cure Diabetes and continue to thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Thank you very much for your generous contribution to our Fourth Annual Children's Hospital Silent Auction. The golf and MIX 101.5 items were a tremendous hit and with your help, our department raised $25,477.62, our best year ever! GEICO associates raised $47,870.52 and GEICO's Philanthropic Foundation donated $22,129.48 making our total contribution to Children's Hospital $70,000. The money will be used towards purchasing equipment, expanding existing buildings and/or the development of new clinics.

GEICO has been a corporate supporter of Children's Hospital for 23 consecutive years and each year we try to set and accomplish greater goals. Without the assistance of our business partners, such as WRAL-FM, we would not achieve our goals.

Again, Thank You for making the 2003 Children's Hospitol Silent Auction a success.

Dear Rich,

I was surprised the day you called to discuss current events at the Coalition You asked many interesting questions and I enjoyed talking with you. This was my first experience at a radio interview, so naturally I was nervous. Although I was not fortunate to hear the broadcast of the program, I have had many people tell me it was excellent

On behalf of the Board of Directors, the staff and volunteers, I extend our sincere gratitude for the opportunity you provided to inform our community about current events at the Coalition You used your talents, skills and broadcast rewurces to promote our agency and it has been successfUl. It is hard to say the exact amount our donations increased but several donors specifically made reference to the program they heard on WIOZ as the stimulus to make a contribution at this time

When Bill Smith hosted their coat and blanket drive in October, WIOZ sponsored coverage of the event and we received about 200 coats. In December, the Coalition also received a positive response to the radio coverage I am personally convinced of the power of radio Again, I cannot overstate my appreciation for your interest and assistance

I hope to have the opportunity to meet you soon

Dear Rich:

Thank you, on behalf of Moore County Action for Animals, for helping us to reach so many with your great PSAs about our organization and the Inaugural Moore County Action for Animals Companion Animal Fair on November 9,2002 at the Nancy Kiser Park in Carthage.

The fair was a huge success in terms of the number of people with companion animals who attended, the number of vendors who participated, and the two bands, 'Teen Challenge" and the McKenzie Brothers who entertained throughout the day.

Children had the opportunity to see 'Gracie" the television star from Bon-Clyde Learning Center, 'Peter, the Pot-Bellied Pig" from Solutions for Animals and numerous puppies available for adoption from the Animal Center of Moore County. Pony rides were also available for children to enjoy throughout the day.

Most of all, Moore County Action for Animals succeeded in planting the seeds of awareness of why spay and neutering is so very important to all of our lives. AS you know, several local veterinarians donated low-cost/free spay/neuters which were raffled every hour.

Our goal is to continue to address the huge problem of dog and cat overpopulation and to make Moore County the safest place to be for a dog or a cat.
