Cliff Pennington’s walk-off home April 19 @ Buffalo PPD (Rain) run in game one capped a RailRiders rally over the Mets, while a late comeback fell short in Saturday’s regularly scheduled game. April 20 @ Buffalo - Game 1 PPD (Rain) @ Buffalo - Game 2 PPD (Rain) The RailRiders continued Friday evening’s suspended game against the Mets Saturday after 3:05 worth of delays Friday night April 22 @ Rochester L 8-6 in which the two teams played one half inning. Friday, Danny Espinosa homered early in the first for the Mets on a line drive to April 23 @ Rochester L 8-1 left field during the first inning Friday night. April 24 @ Rochester W 5-0 As play resumed Saturday afternoon, the RailRiders tied the game 1-1 with a run in the bottom of the 2nd. In the top of the third, April 25 @ Rochester L 4-3 (10) Carlos Gomez singled on a ground ball to left fielder Zack Zehner. Gregor Blanco and Espinosa both scored, bringing the tally to 3-1. April 26 vs. Syracuse PPD (Rain) In the bottom of the inning, Zehner singled to right field scoring Ryan Lavarnway to bring the RailRiders back to within a run, 3-2. April 27 vs. Syracuse W 7-6 (10) vs. Syracuse L 3-2 (7) The tally remained the same until the top of the seventh when Espinosa doubled on a fly ball to center fielder Matt Lipka. Tomas April 28 vs. Syracuse 1:05 PM Nido and Blanco scored for Syracuse extending their lead to 5-2. In the bottom of the seventh, the RailRiders rallied to tie the game. Lipka singled on a line drive to left fielder Tim Tebow and Gosuke Katoh scored to cut into the lead and make it 5-3 Syracuse. They entered last weekend’s series with a scheduled doubleheader set for Saturday June 7 PNC Field 6:35 PM at 1:05 p.m. which was supposed to be the second one of the young season and now they will officially be playing June 8 PNC Field 4:05 PM in their second doubleheader Saturday against the Mets. The three postponements against the Bisons are all on June 9 PNC Field 1:05 PM July 11 NBT Bank Stadium 6:35 PM the schedule for three dates later in the year when the two teams lock antlers June 3, June 5 and June 27. That said, last April was a strong month for SWB on the base paths, going GB: 4.5 Lehigh Valley (15-6) 14-for-15 in SB but only 35-for-64 (54.6%) over the final 115G of the season (1 SB every 3.3G from May 1st onward). 3rd Place, I.L.
