THE PERU DAILY TRIBUNE 2010 Obits Collected by Régine Brindle LOLA (BOWLAND) MILLER Peru Tribune, The (IN) - Wednesday, January 6, 2010 Lola (Bowland) Miller, 84, formerly of Peru, passed away in Naples, Fla. on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, after a long illness. She was born Dec. 22, 1925 to Charles and Ethel Bowland, spending most of her life in Amboy. She served as a clerk in the Amboy Post Office until her retirement in 1988. Always pleasant and smiling, there were few people in Amboy who didn t know and love her. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Dinsmore and husband Howard, Marco Island, Fla., and Sapphire, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Dawn Ford and husband Greg, Columbus, Ohio, and Jennifer Henton and husband Bret, Zionsville; four great-grandchildren, Gage Porterfield, Wyatt Ford, and Mallory and Phoebe Henton; a brother, Clyde; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac; her brothers, Carl and Ralph Bowland; and her sister, Eva Davis. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday at Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main, Amboy. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation, with burial at Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lola¹s memory may be made to the Alzheimer s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011 (www.alz.org). JEFFREY A.
