Please watch the below video so you know what to expect at the access control: Clear guidelines have been drawn up concerning the items that are/aren't allowed inside the King Baudouin Stadium. An overview of those items can be found below this practical mailing. Everything will be put in place to make the additional checks go as smoothly as possible, so you can enjoy an exceptional concert night. We would like to thank you in advance, for your understanding and your spontaneous cooperation at the security checks. TRAVELLING TO AND FROM THE CONCERT Due to infrastructure improvements and a cycling event around the Heysel exhibition park, only a limited number of parking spots are available and some streets may be closed to traffic. You should avoid coming to the King Baudouin Stadium by car. We strongly encourage the use of public transportation. NMBS/SNCB will offer special night trains after the concert. If you have a ticket for the Standing Pitch or Grandstand 2 then you should get off at Houba- Brugmann. If you have a ticket for Grandstand 3 or 4 then you should get off at Heizel/Heysel. To avoid queues after the concert, we advise you to purchase your tickets in advance. Tickets for the metro can be purchased in BOOTIK, KIOSK and GO vending machines. More info via this link. Trams and buses from De Lijn and MIVB/STIB also stop near the King Baudouin Stadium. Tip: A handy route planner for public transportation in Belgium can be consulted via this link. BY BIKE The King Baudouin Stadium is easy to reach by bike. Lots of municipalities are within cycling distance. We have mapped out the area for you. A free, guarded bicycle parking area will be provided near the entrance at the Victor Boin stadium (Houba de Strooperlaan, Brussels). The first 1,000 cyclists to arrive will be rewarded with a small gift from Metallica! Also handy: you can use the Villo shared bicycles in Brussels. A day pass costs 1.60 euros. There are four Villo stations around the King Baudouin Stadium: Heizel/Heysel, Atomium, Stadion/Stade and Houba-Brugmann. You can find more information about Villo here. You live too far away to come by bike? Park & Bike is a good option. You bring a bike in your car, park your car just outside Brussels and then bike to the King Baudouin Stadium. Parking is available at: • Botanic Garden in Meise (Nieuwelaan 38, 1860 Meise – a 4.5 km bike ride) • Hypermarkt Carrefour Sint-Agatha-Berchem (Keizer Karellaan 560, 1082 Sint-Agatha- Berchem – a 5 km bike ride) BY COACH OR BUS Will you be organising your own coach or bus? If you register beforehand by emailing [email protected], your bus can park at Brussels Expo Parking C for 40 euros. You will then receive specific accessibility details a few days before the concert. BY CAR We strongly advise against coming to the King Baudouin Stadium by car, but if you do, you will have to take a few things into account: The organization provides tickets to two car parks in pre-sale: Parking Trade Mart and Parking Tour & Taxis. Only those in possession of a parking ticket will be granted access to these car parks. A parking ticket costs 20 euros maximum. Tickets can be purchased via this link. When purchasing a ticket you must select a car park. Your reservation is only valid for one parking spot and only on the car park that you selected when purchasing the parking ticket. Parking C is accessible and is hosted by Brussels Expo. Pre-booking is not possible. A parking ban is in effect at the Heysel exhibition park. The traffic police keep a close eye on violators. No parking spots are available outside the official car parks. A cycling event is taking place on the same day, so be sure to take traffic jams into account. Be sure to leave on time. Exits can be closed at any time. It's so much more fun to ride to and from a concert together with others. We encourage you to carpool. Eventpool brings concertgoers who want to ride together in touch with each other! Interested? Click here. To avoid traffic jams around the King Baudouin Stadium you can try Park & Ride. You park the car at one of the transit car parks around Brussels and then take public transportation to the King Baudouin Stadium. MIVB/STIB will deploy extra metro carriages on line 5 after the concert. The following transit car parks are accessible with this line: Erasmus, Delta, Herrmann-Debroux. You can find more information about the transit car parks here. IN THE STADIUM Find your spot in the stadium Follow the sign ‘tribune’ or ‘veld’ and the corresponding colour! The standing pitch (GREY) is only accessible via tribune 1 (RED). Use the entrance at the Sportslaan for ‘Golden Circle & GA Floor – Entry Sportslaan / Avenue des Sports’. In the past, they’ve done some amazing shows, but this is more sophisticated and artistic.” Braun found inspiration in the world of art. The video cubes that are such a striking feature of the design, he says, “came out of an industrial architectural sculpture in an Amsterdam building. I was fascinated by the way it jux - taposed light and shape in lines and cubes and boxes. I thought, I could do that with those little light panels, but then we wouldn’t get any light on the stage.” Then another art project, this on in New York City, came into the design - er’s view.

  • Inclusive and Participative Decision Making for Improving Environmental Performances in Football Stadiums: Brussels’ Roi Baudouin Stadium Study Case
Inclusive and Participative Decision Making for Improving Environmental Performances in Football Stadiums: Brussels’ Roi Baudouin stadium study case Abstract The last several years have seen a never larger interest in climate change and its consequences. This phenomenon is going beyond any generational, gender, national or any other barriers. In fact, this concern became a cross-industrial, cross-sectoral and cross-institutional involving a large number of different individual entities acting together, reviewing and assessing their environmental practices. The world of sports was not left out either. This paper reports on a successful case study of Roi Baudouin stadium in Brussels, presents findings and data on key environmental indicators and analyses the involvement of local stakeholders in improving them.
