INNOVATION is powered by an infrastructure that ensures success, from the budgets we set to the facilities we build. It means we anticipate the needs of our university, nation, and world. INNOVATION demands action-oriented research and the passionate pursuit of discovery. It must be interdisciplinary, because problems do not confine themselves to individual theoretical frameworks. INNOVATION requires agility, ingenuity, and an eagerness to embark into unknown territory. In all of these respects, AU students, faculty, leaders, and alumni exemplified innovation this year. We worked to improve our institution and our society, and those efforts contributed to our enduring prosperity. At AU, innovation is more than an idea.
