Abstract: A survey on the megachilid bees (Hymenoptera: Megachilidae) fauna of northern Iran, between 2010 and 2011, led to the identification of eleven species of the genus Coelioxys Latreille belonging to subgenera Allocoelioxys (6 species), Boreocoelioxys (2 species), Coelioxys (2 species) and Liothyrapis (1 species). Of these, six species and one subgenus (Liothyrapis) are new to the fauna of Iran. Detailed illustrations of morphological characters, a key to the species of the genus Coelioxys and an updated checklist of Iranian species of Coelioxys are provided. The Data on Periodical (Weekly) Market at the End of the 19th Century in Egypt -The cases of Qaliubiya, Sharqiya and Daqahliya Provinces Hiroshi Kato Some geographers and historians are concerned with periodical market, which they define as the place of economic transactions peculiar to so called "peasant society. In Egypt, which is, as well known, a typical hydraulic society, periodical market, that is weekly market (α1- siiq al-usbu i) in the Islamic world, still has the important economic functions in rural areas at the present, as well as it had in the past. The author is now collecting the data on Egyptian weekly market from the 19th century to the present, based upon source materials on one hand, and field research on the other. The aim of this paper is to present some statistical and ge0- graphical data on Egyptian weekly market at the end of the 19th century to the researchers who are interested in periodical market in agrarian society, before the intensive study, which the author is planning in the future, on the economic functions of Egyptian weekly market and their transformation in the process of the modernization of Egyptian society. The source material from which the data are collected is A. Boinet, Geographie Econ0- mique et Administrative de I'Egypte, Basse-Egypte I, Le Caire, 1902. It is the results of the population census in 1897 and the agrarian census maybe took in 1898 and 1899, being annexed to the population census in the previous year. The data are arranged village by village, and contain the statistics on cultivated area, crops, planted trees, animals, industry, traffic by rail- road, and transportation by the Nile and canals, and the descriptive informations and remarks on school, canal, railroad, market, post office and so on. -

Nour, CARE International in Egypt Executive Summary This study is the third output of the SDC‐funded “Improving Employment and Income through Development of Egyptian Aquaculture” (IEIDEAS), a three‐year project being jointly implemented by the WorldFish Center and CARE International in Egypt with support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. The aim of the study is to gather data on the retailer segment of the aquaculture value chain in Egypt, namely on the employment and market conditions of the women fish retailers in the five target governorates. In addition, this study provides a case study in Minya and Fayoum of the current income levels and standards of living of this target group. Finally, the study aims to identify the major problems and obstacles facing these women retailers and suggest some relevant interventions. CARE staff conducted the research presented in this report from April to July 2012, with support from WorldFish staff and consultants. Methodology The study team collected data from a variety of sources, through a combination of primary and secondary data collection. Some of the sources include: 1. Describing the distribution of bee species along this elevation gradient will help predict how bee communities might respond to changing climate. To address this, we initiated an inventory associated with ecological studies on pollinators that documented bees on the San Francisco Peaks. -

There are 611 specimens were collected in the current study; these Baghdad, Baghdad, Iraq specimens belong to 5 orders, 25 families, 45 genera and 52 species. In total the percent of pollinator groups investigated were recorded; bees and wasps were the most abundant with 51.3% of the total number of individuals, followed by butterflies 16.03%, beetles 14.07%, flies 13.25% and hemipteran with less 5.23%. In this investigation the species of Myathropa florae (Linnaeus, 1758) was registered as a new record from Iraq. Keywords: Bees, Diversity, Flowers, Iraq, Pollinators. 1. Introduction Pollination by animals is an essential ecological process, which ensures plant reproduction in 60-90% of angiosperms [1, 2, 3], and provides products and food for human mankind and animals [3] In natural and semi-natural habitats up to 90% of all flowering plant species rely on [1] pollination by animals, mainly insects such as bees . The most important pollinators for arable weeds are wild bees, honeybees and bumblebees, and sometimes flies and butterflies [4]. Globally, there are 19.500 described species of bee; there are many other pollinating insects such as hoverflies and other flies, beetles, butterflies, moths and beetles. -

Section IV – Guideline for the Texas Priority Species List Associated Tables The Texas Priority Species List……………..733 Introduction For many years the management and conservation of wildlife species has focused on the individual animal or population of interest. Many times, directing research and conservation plans toward individual species also benefits incidental species; sometimes entire ecosystems. Unfortunately, there are times when highly focused research and conservation of particular species can also harm peripheral species and their habitats. Management that is focused on entire habitats or communities would decrease the possibility of harming those incidental species or their habitats. A holistic management approach would potentially allow species within a community to take care of themselves (Savory 1988); however, the study of particular species of concern is still necessary due to the smaller scale at which individuals are studied. Until we understand all of the parts that make up the whole can we then focus more on the habitat management approach to conservation. Species Conservation In terms of species diversity, Texas is considered the second most diverse state in the Union. Texas has the highest number of bird and reptile taxon and is second in number of plants and mammals in the United States (NatureServe 2002). There have been over 600 species of bird that have been identified within the borders of Texas and 184 known species of mammal, including marine species that inhabit Texas’ coastal waters (Schmidly 2004). It is estimated that approximately 29,000 species of insect in Texas take up residence in every conceivable habitat, including rocky outcroppings, pitcher plant bogs, and on individual species of plants (Riley in publication). -
