After the Sunburn Tour Dates (7.16.2018) https://www.tennessean.com/story/entertainment/music/2018/07/16/kip-moore- after-sunburn-tour-up-all-night-slowheart-something-bout-truck/790503002/ Kip Moore revealed his fall tour Monday and for the first time in nearly four years, Nashville is on his itinerary. Moore will launch his After the Sunburn Tour in Maryland in September and visit cities including Denver, New York City and Los Angeles before concluding at Music City’s War Memorial Auditorium on Nov. 17. “I’ve kind of purposely stayed away,” Moore said, explaining that he had actively avoided routing a tour through Nashville because he had played multiple large, free partial shows in the city in recent years. Since then, the “More Girls Like You” singer said he and his team have elevated his live show to the next level. “I feel like the groundswell has even gotten way bigger over the last couple of years,” said Moore, who released this third album “Slowheart” in September. “It’s been pretty amazing going out and doing this tour around ‘Slowheart.’” While Moore promised plenty of “Slowheart” songs on the After the Sunburn Tour, he said he’s also planning to reach back to his platinum-selling debut album “Up All Night.” Home to hit singles including “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck,” “Beer Money” and “Hey Pretty Girl,” the popular album also includes fan favorites “Drive Me Crazy” and “Reckless.” “I can only ever guarantee that you’re going to get my heart and my passion on stage,” Moore said. “Beyond that, the beauty in an actual live show is there’s a lot of (impulsive moments) stage. Every night our set list changes and we’re playing off what the crowd is doing, so you can expect a lot of unexpected things. It’s us always being authentic with ourselves. You’re getting real human interaction. I think that by being vulnerable and authentic on stage, that keeps (fans) coming back.” Moore’s “Slowheart” is still new in music industry terms – not turning a year old until Sept. 8. But the singer said he’s already working on new songs and promised that fans will hear them soon. He said he’s not trying to create a new album to replace “Slowheart,” but intends for the new music to come out “in bits and pieces” to hold his “hungry fan base” over until the next album. “I’ll never be settled,” Moore said. “I’ll always approach (my career) like it could evaporate at any moment so you have to continue to push yourself and stay on your game and not get complacent. It’s just making sure that you’re trying to be great for people. My feeling now is that I’m going to pour my heart out. I’m going to show you these songs, and (darn) it, you’re going to like it.” Moore's single "Last Shot" is currently on country radio. Support acts on Moore’s After the Sunburn Tour are Jordan Davis, Jillian Jacqueline, The Wild Feathers and Caroline Jones, depending on the show. Davis and Jacqueline will open for Moore at War Memorial Auditorium. Tickets for the tour will go on sale Friday at kipmoore.net. September 5, 2017, Issue 566 Spring Blooms For Country Spring Diary results blossomed with dozens of Country stations at the top of their markets. We asked several of these ratings win- ners what ingredients went into their secret sauce for spring. WXBQ/Johnson City, TN: PD Bill Hagy begins, “I had to look it up. It is 92 books in-a-row at No. 1 – a point of pride [over] a lot of years and attention to details.” Hagy notes every daypart and demo stays stable year-in and year-out except for the 18-34 cell he describes as “more of a yoyo.” He adds, “That demo came back very strong this Spring, more than a 10-point jump to 32 shares.” The annual spring NASCAR race landed at the beginning of the book and “generates a lot of enthusiasm” in the market. • Kip Moore on Building a Loyal Audience, Why Music Row Wears ‘Blinders’
(07.17.18) - https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-country/kip-moore-on-building-a- loyal-audience-why-music-row-wears-blinders-700338/ Kip Moore on Building a Loyal Audience, Why Music Row Wears ‘Blinders’ “You can have these hits on radio, but it doesn’t really translate,” says Moore, who despite any major chart success has cultivated an extensive international touring base. It’s barely 11:00 a.m. on the second day of Nashville’s summertime centerpiece, the CMA Music Festival, and Kip Moore is sitting outside of the HGTV Lodge stage in the blazing June heat, waiting to perform. Moore, who just returned from months of sold-out European and Canadian dates, isn’t exactly used to starting gigs before noon. But as Nissan Stadium looms across the river, waiting for the night’s CMA Fest lineup of radio-friendly all-stars, he’s no less ready: for Moore, a show is a show, and he’ll give it everything he’s got, even if he’s barely finished breakfast. “A lot of artists put it on cruise control,” Moore tells Rolling Stone Country, sitting in a director’s chair in jeans, a black sleeveless shirt and boots. “A lot of times, stuff feels stock. They might put on the same exact show, and have the same exact conversation with the audience, and eventually the audience picks up on it. I always try to stay very present during my shows. I’ve never missed a soundcheck in my career. I think that pays dividends.” Indeed, Moore, who will be launching a new run – the After the Sunburn Tour – in September, with the Wild Feathers, Jordan Davis, Caroline Jones and Jillian Jacqueline joining on select dates, is quickly becoming one of country music’s most tireless and powerful live draws, and not just within the Unites States.

Visual Metaphors on Album Covers: An Analysis into Graphic Design’s Effectiveness at Conveying Music Genres by Vivian Le A THESIS submitted to Oregon State University Honors College in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Honors Baccalaureate of Science in Accounting and Business Information Systems (Honors Scholar) Presented May 29, 2020 Commencement June 2020 AN ABSTRACT OF THE THESIS OF Vivian Le for the degree of Honors Baccalaureate of Science in Accounting and Business Information Systems presented on May 29, 2020. Title: Visual Metaphors on Album Covers: An Analysis into Graphic Design’s Effectiveness at Conveying Music Genres. Abstract approved:_____________________________________________________ Ryann Reynolds-McIlnay The rise of digital streaming has largely impacted the way the average listener consumes music. Consequentially, while the role of album art has evolved to meet the changes in music technology, it is hard to measure the effect of digital streaming on modern album art. This research seeks to determine whether or not graphic design still plays a role in marketing information about the music, such as its genre, to the consumer. It does so through two studies: 1. A computer visual analysis that measures color dominance of an image, and 2. A mixed-design lab experiment with volunteer participants who attempt to assess the genre of a given album. Findings from the first study show that color scheme models created from album samples cannot be used to predict the genre of an album. Further findings from the second theory show that consumers pay a significant amount of attention to album covers, enough to be able to correctly assess the genre of an album most of the time.

  • Sweetland Amphitheatre to Host Steve Earle & the Dukes and Los Lobos Saturday, August 28Th
Media Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 25, 2021 Sweetland Amphitheatre to Host Steve Earle & the Dukes and Los Lobos Saturday, August 28th Tickets Available at sweetlandamp.com LaGrange, Ga. August 25, 2021 – Two incredible acts are teaming up for a fantastic night of music at Sweetland Amphitheatre Saturday, August 28th - Steve Earle & the Dukes and Los Lobos. Steve Earle & the Dukes Steve Earle is one of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters of his generation. A protégé of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, he quickly became a master storyteller in his own right, with his songs being recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, The Pretenders, and countless others. 1986 saw the release of his debut record, Guitar Town, which shot to number one on the country charts and is now regarded as a classic of the Americana genre. Subsequent releases like The Revolution Starts...Now (2004), Washington Square Serenade (2007), and TOWNES (2009) received consecutive GRAMMY® Awards. Los Lobos The journey of Los Lobos began in 1973, as the band earned their stripes playing revved-up versions of Mexican folk music in restaurants and at parties. The band evolved in the 1980s as it tapped into L.A.’s burgeoning punk and college rock scenes. Early on, Los Lobos enjoyed critical success, winning the Grammy® for Best Mexican-American Performance for “Anselma” from its 1983 EP And a Time to Dance. In 1987 with the release of the Ritchie Valens biopic, La Bamba, the quintet’s cover of Valens’ signature song topped the charts in the U.S.

July 1, 2013, Issue 352 Hank In The Chain: Indy Analysis In April, something pretty impressive happened in Indianapolis: Emmis’ WLHK (Hank FM) beat Cumulus’ longtime market leader WFMS in every major demo, while ranking No. 1 in each of them. The only exception was 35-64, but even there the two tied for third. It was a feat that WLHK PD Bob Richards and his team had been working towards since Richards took control of Hank FM in late 2009 after a 15-year run at WFMS – the last 11 of those as PD. Indicative of one of the format’s fiercest Bob Richards fights, WFMS reversed some of those gains the very next month by regaining its lead with persons 6+, Party Crashers: Capitol’s Luke Bryan (sporting a Georgia 25-54 and 35-64. “I’m proud of the WFMS team, who always Bulldogs t-shirt) invites a few friends to a listening party remain focused on our plan,” PD Mark Hamlin said at the for his brand new album Crash My Party. Over the course of eight years, the station and 1,000-capacity bar have hosted country’s biggest names ... long before they really had names. The result is one of country’s most vibrant new music scenes. “Fans of their station are conditioned to not only embrace new music, but new acts,” says Stoney Creek VP/Promotion Chris Loss. “And they do so time and time again. And they do it with passion. I don’t know if there are any other stations that marry the on-air and live aspect better.” KRTY GM Nate Deaton breaks down the keys to the partnership’s success and recounts its remarkable history: “Probably like a lot of successful things, it got started quite by accident,” he admits.
