Of course, that wasn’t always the case. Inventor Alexander Graham Bell demonstrated the first telephone in March 1876, and Cleveland got its first phone one year later, but it took decades before telephones – the kind attached by wires – became common in people’s homes. It was 120 years ago this fall, in 1901, when phones started to become more than a rarity in homes in and around Olmsted Falls and West View.
