William Sr. King was born before 1760, died before 1850, and was buried in King Cemetery. General Notes: Came to America on June 11, 1833 and landed in Philadelphia. He is shown living with his son John in 1840 census listed as over 80. Then when his son, Reverend William King came back for a visit in 1847 William Sr was still living but he is not found in the 1850 census. So his death occurred sometime between 1847 and 1850. His grave is in the King Cemetery but no dates are on the stone or at least none that are still readable. Inscription of gravestone says: "to the memory of William who for sake of his family willing permitted his earthly remains to lye in a foreign land. " William married Elizabeth Torrence, daughter of Unknown and Unknown,. Elizabeth was born in 1768 in Limnavady, Ireland, died on 26 Aug 1839 in OH at age 71, and was buried in King Cemetery. Children from this marriage were: 2M i.James King was born in 1792 in Ireland and died in 1879 in Louisiana at age 87. General Notes: They came to America in 1830 and settled in St Johns, New Brunswick. In 1834 they came to Ohio and settled on part of the King family Homestead in Delta. Children from this marriage were: +24F i. Eliza Jane Donahue was born on 21 May 1829 in Ireland and died on 2 Nov 1895 at age 66. 25 M ii. James H. Donahue was born on 15 Apr 1831 in St, Johns, New Brunswick, Canada and died before 1900. General Notes: James Donahue is not found in 1900 census and wife Ann Ridsdale Hancock is found and has taken back the name Hancock. I guessing James died though he may have divorced and moved away??? 3 Produced by Legacy Descendants of William Sr. King James married Anna Catherine Ridsdale, daughter of Miles Ridsdale and Jane Gray, on 18 Jun 1877 in Fulton Co. OH. Anna was born on 13 Jun 1834 in NY, died on 13 Apr 1916 in Fulton Co. OH at age 81, and was buried in Old Delta Cemetery. + 26 F iii. Catherine Donahue was born about 1833 in St, Johns, New Brunswick, Canada and died on 10 Feb 1892 about age 59. +27M iv. William King Donahue was born in Jun 1835 in Delta, OH In Fulton Co., died on 4 Mar 1907 in Delta, OH at age 71, and was buried in Raker Cem., Swancreek Twp Fulton Co. OH. +28M v. John Donahue was born about 1840 and died in Jul 1883 about age 43. +29M vi. David Donahue was born on 10 Apr 1842, died on 18 Dec 1915 at age 73, and was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Delta, OH. 30 M vii. Thomas Donahue was born on 11 Jun 1844, died on 26 Jul 1864 in Fortress Monroe VA at age 20, and was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery. + 31 M viii. Theophilus Donahue was born about 1848. +32F ix. He and his family were members of the Methodist Church. We believe, but must still find a baptism entry to prove this, that he was the son of Rev. John Nesbitt as Wesleyan Methodist Minister. Jane Douglas, 1816 – daughter of Rev. William Douglas and Mary Atkin P a g e | 2 Rev. John Nesbitt was born abt. 1776 in Donaghmore, Donegal, Ireland and was married to Margaret (last name unknown). We know that they had a son named Rev. Thomas Nesbitt (Methodist Minister) who was born abt. 1809 and died 13 June 1832 in Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Ireland. They also had a son William Nesbitt who was born abt. 1824 in Enniskillen, Fermanagh and died 26 November 1881. William was a well-known professor of Latin at Queens College, Ireland. From what little we know, we see that Robert will have been born between Thomas and William, so John and Margaret being his parents is possible.

The Jones Family Pioneer Life on the Bay of Quinte, 1904; (pages 447 - 452) "Born in the County of Armagh, Ireland, in 1780, of Welsh-Irish parentage, Robert Jones, the pioneer of the Jones family in Prince Edward County, belonged to a class of farmers in Ireland, though heavily handicapped as lease- holders and often rack-rented, have always given a good account of themselves. To Robert was given as good an education as his prospects demanded and the times permitted; and he also received a thoroughly good agricultural training on the family homestead, until he was of age to begin farming on his own account. This he did, at the same time marrying Mary Bell, the daughter of a neighbouring farmer, and of the same age as himself. The farm he chose was cultivated by him for twenty years, during which time all his sons and daughters, to the number of eleven, were born. Determined Peter McMahon was the son of John McMahon and Helen Duffie, all born in Ireland. Identified five potential candidates for Peter’s mother, Helen Duffie, in the Irish baptismal records. Identified Margaret Hughes’s parents—John Hughes and Helen Simond. Discovered the baptismal record for Margaret Hughes. Identified six siblings of Margaret Hughes. Discovered the existence of Margaret Hughes’s illegitimate son, born ten years after Peter’s death. RECOMMENDATIONS 1. Utilize the client’s autosomal DNA results to search for Irish (McMahon) and Scottish (McMahon and Hughes) relations who have also taken autosomal DNA tests. To increase the efficiency of the comparison of genetic cousins, it is suggested the client’s father, a direct descendant of Peter McMahon and Margaret Hughes, also participate in autosomal DNA testing. 2.     The Home Office and Public Disturbance, c.1800-1832 Nathan Ashley Bend Submitted to the University of Hertfordshire in partial fulfilment of the requirements of the degree of PhD. May 2018 ii Abstract This thesis examines the role of the Home Office in the machinery of order from c.1800-1832. It combines institutional enquiry with the study of popular protest by examining protest from the viewpoint of the Home Office. It looks at how the growth of the Home Office was stagnated due to efforts to economise, and how it transformed its systems to make them more efficient in response to peaks of administrative work caused by popular tumult. The different roles that each person performed in the Home Office is outlined, and by doing so the pivotal role of the permanent under- secretary of state, who remains underrepresented in histories of protest, is exposed. It also looks at what powers the home secretary had at his disposal, and how they were used to repress food riots, the Luddite disturbances, the movement for parliamentary reform, the Swing riots, political agitation leading to the Great Reform Act, and trade unions. It compares the different approaches of home secretaries and argues that although the use of powers was generally guided by established precedent, others such as domestic espionage were more divisive, and were influenced by the personality and experience of the home secretary. The thesis also examines the relationships between the Home Office hierarchy and government departments with authorities in the provinces. This thesis brings together all the available records which relate to the Home Office as an institution and those which relate to public disturbance.
