MAIN STAGE PEST & ADVISORY CROPS DISEASES Kharif Seed Collect good quality high yielding variety Rice collection, and start land preparation for kharif rice Seed seedbed. treatment, Seed treatment: Seed treatment can be and Seedbed done in two ways — dry seed treatment and Preparation, soaked seed treatment. Carbendazim (50%) Field or mixture of Carbendazim (25%) + preparation Mancozeb (50%) (Sprint or Clear) 2 gm per liter of water and soak 1 kg seed in that solution for 8-10 hours. Then you have to dry the seeds in the shade. Organic fungicide Trichoderma viridi can be mixed with 4 gm per kg of seed to treat the seed. Land selection: It is better to have fertile land in such places where there is water system nearby. Land a little higher than the surrounding land is ideal for aman paddy seedbed. Seedbed size: Usually one-tenth of the main cultivated land will be seedbed (i.e. 2 kathas for one bigha of land). If the seeds are sown thinly, the seedlings will be healthy, strong and thick. Seed rate: For one bigha of cultivable land, 4-5 kg of treated seeds should be sown in 2 kathas of land. Fertilizer Application: If sufficient amount of organic fertilizer is used, good results will be obtained later (Healthy seedlings). Generally, for 2 katha of seedbed, 200 kg of decomposed dung manure, 1-1.5 kg of Urea, 2 kg of Single Super Shosphate (SSP) and 500 gm of Muriate of Potash (MOP) should be applied at the time of mud bed application and 650 gm Urea per katha should be applied one week before planting. Field preparation: Seedlings will be ready for transplant at 21 days of age. For transplanting prepare the main field by ploughing. Do not allow water stagnation in the seedbed for a long time. To control the sucking pest Acephate 25% + Green Growth Sucking pest Fenvelerate 3% @ 1.5g/lit. Of water in the Gram plant at evening hour may be sprayed.
