Chris Klein……President, Los Angeles Galaxy Chris Klein is President of the LA Galaxy. Klein serves as the club’s top business executive overseeing all aspects of business operations, strategic planning and overall management of the LA Galaxy. Klein, a product of St. Louis, Mo., was named President of the LA Galaxy in January of 2013. Prior to being named president, Klein served as a Vice President for the Galaxy. Klein retired from professional soccer in 2010 following a distinguished 13-year career in Major League Soccer. As a player, the Indiana University graduate won the MLS Cup in 2000 and set MLS records for most consecutive games started and consecutive games played. Directly after his retirement as a player with the Galaxy, Klein served as the Senior Director of the LA Galaxy Academy from 2010 until February 2012, before being named Vice President in 2012. In January 2014, Klein was named to Sports Business Journal’s prestigious Forty Under 40 award. Klein works closely with Galaxy Head Coach and General Manager Bruce Arena on the soccer aspect of the business. The 39-year-old plays a central role in arranging and organizing the international friendlies that the Galaxy play each year while also serving as the club’s lead on all MLS and community development related matters. Additionally, Klein continues to ensure the long term financial stability of the Galaxy and all of the club’s properties, including the Galaxy Academy and the LA Galaxy Soccer Center in Torrance, Calif., while helping the club continue to strengthen its presence in the local soccer community. Klein also sits on the board of the Hammarby Football Club in Sweden, representing AEG, a part owner of the club. .

Thank you for being a part of the United Nations Foundation's Nothing But Nets campaign, which provides individuals—from CEOs to youth, professional athletes to faith leaders—the opportunity to join in the global fight against malaria by sending a net and saving a life with a $10 contribution. One of the most cost-effective and simple approaches to combat malaria is through the use of long-lasting insecticide-treated bed nets, which can prevent malaria transmission by creating a protective barrier against mosquitoes at night, when the vast majority of transmissions occur. It costs $10 to buy and distribute a bed net and to educate the recipient on its use. In 2008, supporters of the Nothing But Nets campaign have saved millions of lives. With the funds raised, the life-saving bed nets distributed, the number of supporters reached, and the raised profile of malaria, 2008 proved to be a successful year for Nothing But Nets and, ultimately, the global effort to prevent malaria. Building on the momentum of what began halfway through 2006, Nothing But Nets raised nearly $25 million by the end of 2008 from over 100,000 individuals and distributed over 2 million bed nets to areas of greatest need in Africa. Nothing But Nets is linking its partners and individuals to the global movement to support the work of the United Nations to end malaria deaths by 2015. As always, these achievements could not have been possible without our unique set of partners who are helping us reach diverse communities to spread the message that malaria kills and nets save lives.

At least that?s been the case for Major League Soccer veteran and four-time All-Star Chris Klein, who tore his right anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in 2001 and his left ACL in 2004. Both times, Klein made spectacular returns to the field and deservedly earned Comeback Player of the Year honors (2002 and 2005). Although each injury was potentially career ending, he leaned heavily on his relationship with God and a strong desire to show the league and its fans the true meaning of excellence. "Right after that first knee injury, I had a peace in knowing that God had a plan for me,? Klein says. ?That allowed me to put the work into my rehab and come back from the injury and be a better soccer player. The match renews one of Major League Soccer's top rivalries. Franklin was the fourth overall draft choice in the MLS SuperDraft earlier this year. The Galaxy selected him to help shore up their back line after trading veteran defender Chris Albright. Franklin has justified the selection nicely and has started three of the Galaxy's four games this season. Franklin was the Matadors' right back as a senior and has played on the inside and outside as a professional. Daniel Paladini has taken a different route to this weekend's action. After a stand-out career at Northridge in which he was tabbed first-team All-Big West as a junior and senior and earned conference Midfielder of the Year as a senior, Paladini was selected in the MLS supplemental draft by the Galaxy. The midfielder hung on briefly with the team before joining up with the San Fernando Valley Quakes of the Professional Developmental League, and in March, he impressed Chivas USA enough to warrant another professional contract. Paladini has found a place with the team, but is still awaiting his first call up to join the 18-man squad.

Power Finds New York Red Bulls, Chicago Fire, Anaheim Ducks, Houston Rockets Rank Highest in Respective Markets NEW YORK: 16 Aug. 2016 — Major League Soccer teams rank no lower than second in each of America’s four largest markets included in the inaugural J.D. Power 2016 Fan Experience Study,SM released today. The New York Red Bulls and Chicago Fire rank highest in their respective markets while the Los Angeles Galaxy and Houston Dynamo rank second in theirs. The Fan Experience Study measures customer satisfaction of major pro sports teams in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston across seven factors. They are (in order of importance): seating area and game experience; security and ushers; leaving the game; arriving at the game; food and beverage; ticket purchase; and souvenirs and merchandise. Satisfaction is measured on a 1,000-point scale. Additional factors that were measured—but not included in the official ranking—were loyalty and future intentions; team performance (on-field); and team image. The Red Bulls score highest among New York teams for security and ushers (835); seating area and game experience (833); ticket purchase (819); food and beverage (795); and leaving the game (791). The Chicago Fire score highest among Chicago teams for souvenirs and merchandise (875); security and ushers (838); ticket purchase (795); food and beverage (783); and leaving the game (758). In the Los Angeles region, it is a National Hockey League team that ranks highest: the Anaheim Ducks.
