Maritime Mobile Service List of Call Signs and Numerical Identities of Stations used by the Maritime Mobile and Maritime Mobile-Satellite Services (List VIIA) (21st Edition – April 2003)

Note from the BR By Publication Notice No. 214-03 of 10 March 2003, the ITU has addressed to the Administrations and recognized operating agencies (ROAs) the order form for the List of Call Signs and Numerical Identities of Stations (List VIIA) (21st Edition – April 2003). Administrations/ROAS are invited to complete the order form and return it to the ITU Sales and Marketing Division.

International Call Sign Series

Following changes in the administrative situation of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, the international call sign series 4WA-4WZ formerly provisionally allocated to the United Nations for specific purpose has been provisionally re-allocated to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, in accordance with number 19.33 of the Radio Regulations and subject to confirmation by the next competent World Radiocommunication Conference.

Telegram Service Telex Service

Israel Switzerland Joint Communiqué of 6.V.2003:

– «Bezeq» Telex Service “Bezeq”, The Israel Telecom. Corp. Ltd., Jerusalem (Israel), and Swisscom, Berne (Switzerland), announce in this joint communiqué that, as from 1st July 2003, Bezeq will no longer be handling telex traffic to and from Israel, such traffic being handled instead by Swisscom. The Telex Switching Centre in Tel Aviv will be closed and all direct circuits to and from Tel Aviv will cease operation. All traffic destined for the Tel Aviv centre will have to be routed via the Telex Switching Centre of Swisscom in Lugano (Switzerland). Bezeq subscribers’ national telex numbers, together with the telex destination code (TDC) “606” allocated to Israel under ITU-T Recommendation F.69 and the telex network identification code (TNIC) “IL” allocated to Israel under ITU-T Recommendation F.68, will remain unchanged. As from 1st July 2003, the responsibility for international rates and settlements will reside with Swisscom, which will handle direct all negotiations related to telex accounting rates. Telex traffic sent to or by Bezeq subscribers shall be considered as Swiss traffic. The total accounting rates and rates division as applied in relations with Swisscom shall be applied also for telex traffic originating or terminating in Israel. All Administrations/ROAs are kindly requested to update their records accordingly. As from 1st July 2003, Swisscom will handle the settlement of telex accounts, which will have to be done separately for telex traffic from/to Switzerland (telex destination code 45) and telex traffic from/to Israel (telex destination code 606). Separate telex accounts should be sent to the following address:

For their numbering website, or when sending their information to ITU/TSB (e-mail: [email protected]), Administrations are kindly requested to use the format as explained in ITU-T Recommendation E.129. They are reminded that they will be responsible for the timely update of this information.
