  • A Christian Guide to the Anti-Israel Boycott Movement (BDS) by Father Gabriel Naddaf
June 2015 Dear brothers and sisters, It takes great wisdom to understand the heart of God, and the matters closest to him. God teaches us in his Word that Israel is the apple of his eye (Zechariah 2:8). Yet there is much confusion in the global church about Israel, and God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). Rather, God wants us to seek after his heart; to get wisdom and to get understanding (Proverbs 4:5). God does not want his church to be ignorant about such an important topic as Israel, yet there are many in the church today sowing confusion, spreading hatred of the Jewish state. We learn from James that if anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him (James 1:5). God’s wisdom is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace (James 3:17-18). Yet God laments that "my people perish for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). We present this guide to you humbly, knowing that we will one day stand before God and give account of every word we utter (Matthew 12:36). As the spiritual leader of the Christian Empowerment Council here in Israel, it is my responsibility to encourage Christians across the world to think about Israel in Biblical and moral ways. As you consider personally your own spiritual towards Israel, it would be prudent to consider these points.

Gerstenfeld explains what the dangers are and what to do about them in this important book.” —John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations “Manfred Gerstenfeld not only carefully documents the plethora of current expres- sions of hatred of Jews and Israel, its instigators and promoters; by connecting the bits and pieces, he confronts the reader with a chillingly accurate picture. It is a book not just to read but to act upon.” —Daniel Herman, minister of culture, Czech Republic “This is a must-read book that unravels the complex process of the delegitimiza- tion and demonization of the Jews and Israel. It lucidly exposes the perpetrators and suggests how to combat them successfully. I recommend it to anyone who cares about effectively presenting Israel’s case.” —Steve Linde, editor in chief, The Jerusalem Post “I hold to this inescapable historical truth: it will never be time to forget Israel. There will never be a time when we can abandon the cause of justice for the Jewish people: the right to be. Peace in the Middle East, to which we all aspire, will only be possible when all, and I mean everyone, effectively recognize and respect the right to the existence of the state of Israel.

Netanyahu warned against the deal being negotiated between Iran and world powers, saying it would not block Iran’s way to obtain nuclear weapons, but rather pave the way to a nuclear bomb. Contrary to expectations raised in briefings by Netanyahu’s staff ahead of his speech, he revealed no classified information regarding the emerging agreement with Iran. Although the speech had caused tensions between Netanyahu and the White House, President Barack Obama contained any major fallout, telling news sources on Monday that he would meet Netanyahu again, soon after Israel’s March 17 elections, if the prime minister gets re-elected.
