Happy Friday Folks, today we have an interview with author Liz Borino and she shares a little bit about herself with Luscious. I mean, seriously, you gotta love someone who likes Stephen King. Liz has also sent up a lovely pretty. Oh how I love a fresh book cover. So check out her interview below then read on…you won’t be disappointed. Have a Luscious day! Kass. What’s your snack of choice for a hardcore writing session? Honey mustard pretzels and Diet Peach Snapple. What is your favorite book on the craft of writing? Stephen King’s On Writing. What do you like best (or least) about writing? I love getting lost in the world of my characters and getting the opportunity to share it with the world. What do you read when you’re not writing? You mean the books I edit for my day job? Or the ones I read for school? On the very rare occasion that I get to choose what I read, I usually go for something in my genre (M/M BDSM). Describe your workspace. On any given day, I could be working at my local Starbucks, the library, or my bedroom. It depends on the social interaction I desire. Favorite quote? “A ship is safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are for.” I have no idea who said it, but I find it inspiring. What’s your favorite romantic comedy and why? I’m not too much into comedy, but I love a romantic drama. Love Story is my favorite because everything from the acting to the script felt real. The character’s relationship was tangible, at least to me. What’s the one place you’d most like to visit someday? I always wanted to see Ireland. But more than that I’d like to go back to London. Have you ever disliked one of your characters? Yes. Josh from the Mine series. Try as I might, I could never relate to him. What are you working on next? Double Exposure, the second book in the Director’s Cut series, due out in July. Meet the author. Hometown: Bethlehem, Pa. Hobbies: Reading, writing (duh, right?) and city exploring. Can Drew trust Alex to help him get over his past? Can Steve manage to keep Zack safe from the man who has haunted him for so long? Find out what happens Behind the Scenes ! Amazon. Excerpt: Zack locked their bedroom door behind them after turning in early on Friday night. In there, he forgot about the media and any other bullshit going on in his life. “Hey, I have a question for you.” “Yeah?” Steve pulled him into his arms and kissed his lips. “What?” Sighing contentedly, Zack returned the hug. “I’d really like to practice my rope work, and I found this interesting picture online. How would you feel about me trying tonight?” Zack asked, anticipating Steve’s hesitation to being bound. “Let me see the picture,” Steve responded and Zack took the handout from the nightstand. “This looks complicated. It won’t be fast.” “I haven’t got anywhere to go.” Zack shrugged, cupped Steve’s chin and added, “Please.” “Sure,” he answered, giving Zack the picture back. “How do you want me?” The corners of Zack’s mouth lifted, happy with the ease of Steve’s agreement. “Take your shirt off and sit however you’re comfortable on the bed. I just need to be able to get in front of you and behind you.” Zack opened the lockbox at the bottom of the closet and took out the blue silk rope and safety shears, in case he had to cut Steve out in a hurry. He turned around to find Steve sitting cross-legged in his boxers in the middle of the bed. Setting the rope and shears on the bed next to Steve, Zack kissed the faint imprint on his neck under his collar. “Mine.” Steve nodded and turned his head to brush their lips together. “Yes,” he confirmed. Zack kissed him again. “I’m going to grab a water bottle, since we’ll be here awhile. Do you want anything else? Are you cold? I can turn up the heat.” “I’m fine, love,” Steve told him with fondness in voice. After climbing down from the bed, Zack hurried to the kitchen and took out two water bottles and a bar of chocolate for the aftercare. He planned to spend the rest of the night completely devoted to Steve. When he came back in the room, Zack placed the candy and water on the nightstand. He then got on the bed behind his husband again. “Relax your arms, I’ll position them how I need them on your back.” Steve did, and Zack folded and stacked them. He wrapped the silk around Steve’s wrists and made a knot. The Boy Scouts prepared him well. If only his troop leader knew what he was using the skills for, he would not be a happy camper. Then again, he wasn’t known for being the jolliest of fellows. Zack shook the thoughts away as he pulled the rope up Steve’s shoulder, then down the side of his chest. When he crawled to Steve’s back to secure it over his bent arms, he said, “Breathe, you’re safe. I won’t hurt you, and you can get out at any time if you need to.” Steve took a few deep breaths. “I know. I trust you.” “Thank you,” Zack replied, brushing his bare back with his fingertips. He continued crawling between Steve’s front and back, prompting his husband to ask, “Would it be easier if I stood?” “Probably, but I want you sitting. This way, you don’t need to worry about holding yourself up. Let go. All you need to do is feel my hands and the rope,” Zack instructed, coming around to look Steve in the eye. Steve nodded and Zack pressed their lips together. Zack slipped two fingers under every knot he made to check for circulation and take the opportunity for contact. As he worked, Zack watched Steve’s facial features change. His brown eyes glazed over and his breathing evened as the rope tightened on his body. Zack smiled to himself, proud he had been able to bring him to subspace. “I’ve got you,” Zack whispered. “You’re amazing, the best husband anyone could dream of.” He made the final knot on Steve’s chest, clicked a picture of his back and front. He then spread his legs around Steve’s hips, and wrapped his arms over the other man’s bound body, leaning him against his chest. Pacific Loon presents Stillness in double exposure [mix] Stillness in double exposure is a calming mix translating images into sound, courtesy of Naples’ Francesco Busiello aka Pacific Loon. With Leana Pizzoferrato, Busiello inaugurated the Pacific Loon project in London during the summer of 2012, and has since developed projects channeling Berlin and Naples. Each Pacific Loon work begins with images, seeking to translate the feeling of a place into sound. I’ve spent a lot of time in Naples, as regular readers might remember, and over the past decade have helped to document the city’s rich experimental music scene, which often incorporates improvisation, noise, and struggle in ways that seem to mirror the city’s own beautifully chaotic energy. But there are always new artists and scenes to discover, so I was pleased to come across Pacific Loon’s more soothing atmospheres. Busiello’s work veers more toward the dreamy and contemplative, just the right accompaniment to the uncertainty of the present. Stillness in double exposure weaves together ten tracks from many old favorites sure to be familiar to our readers, a relaxing pause to accompany the warming weather. Enjoy. ( Joseph Sannicandro ) MINI-INTERVIEW. Please introduce yourself. Pacific Loon is a project born years ago. It started as visual until merging with music. I’ve always been attracted by images and places and feelings you can have from them, to express a record as a concept. I just did it with my band Starframes , we did release a record Nicht Vergessen in 2018, a concept about Berlin in 1989. I consider records always as a concept of lyrics, sound or feelings. It was darker, then lighter till it was all drowned in splendor II is the second part of a record about places in Naples, echoes of beauty. Tell us about the mix. Stilness in double exposure collects a series of photographs taken last years, I tried to expose in sound these pictures with some of my favorite artists, and one track “Lux Cristallum” from my EP It starts with one of the best thing in 2021, “Siblings” by Alex Somers, to end with Kyle Bobby Dunn, a master of sound. “Vapor Trails” is the only one featuring singing. I love Liz Harris and I consider her voice as a synth. How are you dealing with quarantine? How are things in Napoli? It’s been a tough year, personally. I spent my time during this quarantine especially with reading, I’ve been lucky enough to meet on my road poets like Ernest Dowson and Lionel Johnson, it helped me especially to keep in touch with nature even if you’re at home. I hope we can be together again soon, the last years were so good for the city, LA DIGESTION – musica ascoltata raramente, was spinning some great moments here in Naples. Anything else you’d like to mention? I’m going to to write the third part of this concept, this last one will be out maybe in later 2021. After that, I will be in sound research and will find new topics for a new record. You can follow my Bandcamp for future releases. Double Exposures. Houston wedding photographer. Images from Marc Ecko’s latest campaign debuted yesterday with Lindsay Lohan in a starring role, only to have it revealed the body photographed for the ad doesn’t even belong to the actress. The image, for his new “Cut & Sew” line, features Lindsay peeling off a black sweater, partially revealing her breasts and the rest of her underwear-clad body. Only thing is, those boobs don’t belong to the Mean Girls actress—her face was superimposed onto a model’s body to create composite images for the campaign. Despite this strange take on her role as Marc’s muse, it was also reported the 24-year-old will make another post-jail appearance, this time in a digital hologram. Before being locked away behind bars, Lilo apparently filmed four film noir-inspired skits with Double Exposure team Markus Klinko and Indriani with high-definition cameras and “augmented reality” technology. Photographer Markus Klinko is threatening legal action against bosses at news network CNN after they aired a report about Mexican actress Fernanda Romero's alleged marriage scam, suggesting he had turned her over to police. Romero, who had a small role in 2009 horror film Drag Me to Hell, was arrested in April and accused of organising a sham marriage to American Kent Ross in order to become a U.S. citizen. CNN recently ran a story on the case, portraying Klinko - a former lover of Romero's - as a "jilted boyfriend" who exposed the alleged scheme to federal agents. But the fashion photographer has been left fuming by the report - because he was wrongly identified as the "snitch". Klinko is demanding a retraction from CNN producers and is contemplating pursuing the matter in court. He tells TMZ.com, "CNN published an article a little while ago that contains a lot of false statements, things that never happened, and we've been trying for days now for them (sic) to issue a retraction and unfortunately they are not forthcoming." Klinko is no stranger to controversy - he and his business partner Indrani were recently embroiled in a dispute with Lindsay Lohan after she accused them of setting her up and giving her an incorrect call time for a photoshoot, which was being filmed for the couple's U.S. reality TV show Double Exposure. Lohan maintains they created a drama for the show - an allegation Klinko has denied. Meanwhile, Romero has denied the charge of marriage fraud. If found guilty, she faces five years behind bars. Filed under: Celebrity Interviews. Celebrity photographers Marcus Klinko and Indrani usually sit behind the lens, but their new Bravo reality show 'Double Exposure' has turned the camera around to document their world-trotting photo shoots and once-romantic, sometimes-contentious relationship. The former couple, now just business partners, were thrust into the limelight last week thanks to an episode about a photo shoot with Lindsay Lohan, who was shown to arrive 11 hours late. The actress fired back on Twitter by saying she was "set up" and that it "sucks when friends use you in this case for ratings even if they're lying." At today's photo shoot for 'Real Housewives of New York' star Jill Zarin, Klinko and Indrani addressed Lohan's remarks, plus gave me a preview of tonight's episode featuring Brooklyn Decker (11Pm Et, Bravo). All you have to do to see that is look at the comments on our last post about Family Guy which generated very heated discussion. That same issue came up twice this week, first with a discussion of gay male sexuality and the use of the word "faggot" on the new FX series Louie, and then again on an episode of The Boondocks that joked about prison rape. When it comes to the use of the word "faggot" I don't like hearing it. Permalink Report this. Lights, Camera, Lohan on Double Exposure. 01 July 2010 E! Online. Permalink Report this. Double Exposure by Liz Borino. Meru is a documentary about the impossible. The mountain is impossibly steep, the risk impossibly high, the reward impossibly spectacular. A plotline as dripping with suspense as “three men overcoming insurmountable odds to climb a mountain never before summited” needs to be handled with extreme care. (And seriously: I will personally refund the ticket of anyone who sees the movie and finds “insurmountable odds” to be an overstatement.) Thankfully, Jimmy Chin – climber, skier, filmmaker and photographer extraordinaire – was just the man for the job. Chin has created an intricately woven combination of mesmerizing cinematography and paralyzing suspense that serves both as a vehicle for an incredible sensory experience and an examination of abstract ideas that transcend mountain-climbing. From the very beginning, Meru is the anti- Everest . To summit Meru, the climbers must be totally self-sufficient and at the same time interdependent. There are no Sherpas to haul supplies, no oxygen tanks to counteract the altitude, and no pre-set ropes or ladders to guide the ascent. To put it another way: Everest focuses on a guide service stewarding paying customers to the summit; Meru features three men at the pinnacle of dedication, experience and talent who choose to climb together based on trust, not finances. At the helm of the expedition is Conrad Anker, who is trying to complete the “cosmic plan” of his late mentor Mugs Stump. The other two climbers, Jimmy Chin and Renan Ozturk, are simultaneously his peers and his students. Meru is as much about getting to the top of a mountain as Moby Dick is about killing a whale. The brilliance of this documentary is its ability to speak genuinely and unassumingly about situations that could easily be melodramatized into oblivion. It is a soap opera without all the bells and whistles (and tears). Chin uses a combination of sit-down interviews and quick dispatches from the mountain to create a raw and introspective narrative. The mid-ascent comments can change quickly from quips about the weather (like being “inside of a ping pong ball”) to emotionally charged statements like “I don’t wanna go down. I’ll never forgive myself.” The more the climbers are tested physically and psychologically on the mountain, the more profound the commentary becomes both in the moment and during retrospective formal interviews. This kind of character development comes in surprising measure from the protagonists’ families. The film’s numerous interviews with family members provide arresting reminders that Jimmy, Conrad, and Renan are mortal men doing dangerous things, the consequences of which extend beyond themselves. Conrad’s wife, a climber herself, is a total badass but also a human being. The most detail she can manage about her husband’s job is, “I know that stuff can happen.” Simplicity speaks volumes. Another interviewee, the author Jon Krakauer, compares “big wall climbing” to making a cabinet; every move is calculated, exacting. The caveat to the metaphor is if you split a cabinet, you can start over. If you split a mountain, you’re dead. The most remarkable thing about Meru is not its expansive panoramas of the Himalayas, or the climbers’ relentless exhibition of mental and physical strength. It is easy to be impressed by mountain climbing. It is hard to understand why the hell anybody would do something so irrational. Meru stands out to me because it takes a long, hard look at that impossible question and formulates a response no less involving for its being ultimately inconclusive.
