10 West Virginia West Virginia CHUCK MATHENA CENTER Now in the sixth season, the CMC stage has featured Grammy award winning artists, Tony award winning musicals, and world renowned theatre productions, comedians, orchestras, ballets and more. As the only theatre in the area that presents national touring productions, the community now enjoys year-round performances previously only o ered in Charleston, WV or further. Without sacri cing quality, CMC has managed to maintain budget friendly ticket prices, charging an average of around $20, nearly $35 less than the national average for live theatre performances. In addition to the regular performance throughout the year, CMC also presents a series of daytime performances exclusively for preschool, public, private, and homeschool students. With ticket prices for students at only $5 or $7, schools and homeschool families are easily able to attend the performances based on historical events, popular children’s books, and other educational topics. For the 2013-2014 Season, CMC is o ering “Honey in the Rock” and “Four Score and Seven Years Ago” for middle and high school aged students, and “The Shoemaker and the Christmas Elves” and “Seussical” for pre-k and elementary students. Registration for each daytime performance is open now, and due to limited space, CMC encourages early registration.
