Angel Course Content Are Angels Religious? I hear this question frequently, so I am addressing it first. Although angels appear in different religious stories, they are not necessarily “religious.” In Christianity, the angels announce the coming of Christ; they appear to Mary to tell her that she is carrying a baby, and to Joseph to tell him that Jesus will be God’s son. In Judaism the angels are known as the “messengers of God.” They are spoken of in the Kabbalah, were thought of as spirits who served God, and never having been in human form. Islam teaches that angels are God’s messengers. They are mentioned multiple times in both the Koran and the Hadith. In the Baha’i faith, angels are known to come to us to confirm there is a celestial God of power, and are described as “blessed beings” beyond this world, taking on angelic qualities. Alas, the word “angel” is derived from the Greek word “angelos," meaning “messenger.” I love this, because it sums up so much and brings it together. Most religions can agree on one thing: angels are messengers, bringing forward messages of hope, peace, purpose, and love. There are many angels for different purposes. They will speak the language you speak, which you will understand and build here. It doesn’t matter which religion you choose to identify with, or maybe none at all. Angels are messengers here to help guide you to your best life. Angel Acknowledgement Take a trip down memory lane, and write down a few words that you associate with angels, or maybe even draw an image of what you imagine angels to look like (they will show up how you vision them): © 2017 Gina Nicole www.ginanicole.net The Angels & Their Role in Your Life According to Angelology (theological dogma or speculation concerning angels), there are 9 various types of angels. Here I have separated those into 3 groups; A, B, and C. Group A is known to see the highest power directly. You might refer to this highest power as God, Love, The Universe, or Spirit. Group A consists of Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones. Serpah or Seraphim: These angels are known as having the closest proximity to Universal Source. They put off a fiery light that is intense, yet all loving. When artists paint seraphims, they will often times use the color red to depict their name, “burning or fiery ones.” Cherub or Cherubim: Their name means fullness of wisdom. You may envision cherub angels to look like chubby figures with wings. If you were to refer to ancient art however, you would see them illustrated opposite of a cute cuddly creature. This group of angels keep celestial records and hold the knowledge of The Divine Source. Thrones: Thrones resemble and manage Divine justice, judicial power, and judgment. The symbolism of thrones are unique; two wheels circling each other with eyes. Group B focus on balance between good and bad. These angels fulfill the Divine plan for the universe. they are considered “heavenly governors” between the celestial and human worlds. Dominions or Dominations: Dominions are referred to as “middle management.” They take direction from the seraphim and cherubim, then they delegate onward. Their name invokes authority. Virtues receive direction from the dominions, and regulate the universe Virtues: (sun, moon, stars, and planets). They take a particular keen interest in earthly things such as science, music, healing, and art. Their name suggests power or strength. Powers: As their name suggests, they face and work against against evil, and they stand for peace. They help cleanse the universe of lower energies. They are at work in areas of religion, theology, and ideology. Group C, is the group of angels you will most likely work with the most. As a human, you can relate best because they are most like you. This choir of angels deals with human affairs. © 2017 Gina Nicole www.ginanicole.net Principalities: These angels watch over planet earth, and are actionable where countries and cities are concerned. The Principalities delegate to the archangels and angels (below). They watch over religion and politics. Archangels: The next two mentioned, are the angels I personally work the closest with. They deliver important messaging from the Highest Source, to humans. The archangels (and angels) are the guardians of people. Archangels can be invited to assist with matters involving all humankind. The archangels are known as “The Chief Messengers.” Each archangel has a speciality. Angels: Angels lead and guard people. Unlike the principalities who watch over earth as a whole, the angels guard us personally. They keep individuals and households safe from lower energies. They guide, nourish, and heal. We all have a "personal angel: with us daily. While some want to have an idea of all of the above, for the purposes of this course, you will be focusing primarily group C. They are the closest to you, and deal with human affairs. Angel Acknowledgement Imagine all of the different areas of life; work, career, money, learning, children. Just as various groups of people have their own language, such is true for angels. Fortunately for you, it is universal and easy! Breath is the universal force that will connect you to your angels. As you breath deeper and become more aware of your breath, you become more calm, relaxed, and able to be in the flow of life. This includes giving and receiving loving messages. Let’s examine the four parts to your breath as below: Inhale > Hold > Exhale > Hold Visualize yourself receiving love, with your angel(s) surrounding • On The Inhale: you. They may look like a bright light, a human, or something else. Imagine your face and what you would look like living your very best life. Imagine your heart being filled with so much joy. Notice every good feeling that comes with this receptivity. In my experience, the “holding” spaces at the top and • The Hold After Inhale: bottom of your breath, is where you can make the strongest connection with your angels. This is a good time to send appreciation for what you are wanting to receive. It is important to remember to stay in gratitude, and feel the feeling that overcomes you as you hold, “thank you for ….” • On The Exhale: To stay in constant flow, you must give and receive. Imagine sending big love back to your angel(s) and to the world. Focus on how that would feel. Perhaps that is simple appreciation, or helping mother earth. Use your exhale to visualize shining light from your heart, out to the world. • The Hold After Exhale: The hold at the end of your breath is again a good time to make clear connection, in a thankful way.

Christian Angelology Angelology Introduction Why study Angels? They teach us about God As part of God’s creation, to study them is to study why God created the way he did. In looking at angels we can see God’s designs for his creation, which tells us something about God himself. They teach us about ourselves We share many similar qualities to the angels. We also have several differences due to them being spiritual beings. In looking at these similarities and differences we can learn more about the ways God created humanity. In looking at angels we can avoid “angelic fallacies” which attempt to turn men into angels. They are fascinating! Humans tend to be drawn to the supernatural. Spiritual beings such as angels hit something inside of us that desires to “return to Eden” in the sense of wanting to reconnect ourselves to the spiritual world. They are different, and different is interesting to us. Fr. J. • MIN ANGEL Summary Overall
MIN ANGEL Summary Overall - General sense of moving practice forward, positive direction for most, more direct painting language on a non-high art, disposable ‘punk’ support, personal and universal themes of life/death and memories. Allegorical and spiritual references. Humorous, tender, sad, unsettling, intriguing, immediacy. An exploration of image relationships within the composition and in relation to the configurations of the support and the conversations the support introduces in painting materially and thematically in particular in terms of time and space. The ‘reveal’ of the box. Handing paint with authority and fluidly, ‘treating the paint as a new guest at the table’, forthright, painterly, graphic, illustrative. Good colour. Relationship of the three images. Reflecting on ways forward - Continue with cardboard, use the cardboard colour, build up from photos, directness of paint application, reconsider the dreamy, embrace drawing/ illustrative/graphic qualities. Consider compositions, explore single image paintings of the portraits hung close together, limit palette. Build up from photographic references. Draw more. Comments: Marcus Big changes! The card board is working very well, it seems to invite so much more in. This is early days to analyse the paintings in any depth or indeed the composition and painting so just enjoy letting the work emerge. Having said that........ I detect that these are about family and the source material is family photos. I love the male figure in the suit! The Dean Martinish figure. There is tons of good colour in this painting , the modelling in loose greys on the pink ground with cardboard fringes showing. This limited range really works well and has something of the nostalgia of old photos without being too restricted to monochrome.

  • A Deeper Look… Angelology – the Doctrine of Angels Michael J
1 A deeper look… Angelology – the Doctrine of Angels Michael J. Breznau | 2015 Holy Angels We believe God created an innumerable host of sinless angels to serve and worship Him (Neh. 9:6; Psa. 103:20; Luke 15:10; Eph. 1:21; Heb. 1:14; Rev. 7:12); that because they are merely created beings and not God, they are not to be worshiped (Col. 2:18; Rev. 22:9); that they are spiritual beings possessing great power (Psa. 103:20; 2 Pet. 2:11; 2 Kgs. 19:35; Job 1:6); that they possess moral judgment and intelligence; and that they are a higher order of creation than mankind (Heb. 2:6-10; cf. Phil. 2:5-8). We believe holy angels primarily functioned as divinely sent messengers (within the biblical narrative, i.e. Matt. 1:21);1 but that they also are sent by God as “ministering spirits” to serve believers in Christ (Heb. 1:14; see also Dan. 6:22; 10:13; cf. Matt. 4:11; Matt. 18:10). Fallen Angels We believe that of the host of angels created by God, one named Lucifer – an “anointed cherub” – lifted himself up in pride, thereby sinning and becoming Satan, the accuser of the brethren, that serpent of old, the great Deceiver (Isa. 14:12-17; Ezek. 28:11-19; 1 Tim. 3:6); that a large number of angels rebelled against God with Satan and together fell from their holy estate (2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 6; Rev. 12:9), some of these fallen angels assumed demonic roles subservient to the evil will of Satan2 and other fallen angels have since been “kept [by God] in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day” (Jude 6; cf.

  • Dark Mirrors: Azazel and Satanael in Early Jewish Demonology
Orlov Dark Mirrors RELIGIOUS STUDIES Azazel and Satanael in Early Jewish Demonology Dark Mirrors is a wide-ranging study of two central figures in early Jewish demonology—the fallen angels Azazel and Satanael. Andrei A. Orlov explores the mediating role of these paradigmatic celestial rebels in the development of Jewish demonological traditions from Second Temple apocalypticism to later Jewish mysticism, such as that of the Hekhalot and Shi ur Qomah materials. Throughout, Orlov makes use of Jewish pseudepigraphical materials in Slavonic that are not widely known. Dark Mirrors Orlov traces the origins of Azazel and Satanael to different and competing mythologies of evil, one to the Fall in the Garden of Eden, the other to the revolt of angels in the antediluvian period. Although Azazel and Satanael are initially representatives of rival etiologies of corruption, in later Jewish and Christian demonological lore each is able to enter the other’s stories in new conceptual capacities. Dark Mirrors also examines the symmetrical patterns of early Jewish demonology that are often manifested in these fallen angels’ imitation of the attributes of various heavenly beings, including principal angels and even God himself. Andrei A. Orlov is Associate Professor of Theology at Marquette University. He is the author of several books, including Selected Studies in the Slavonic Pseudepigrapha. • 'Everybody Loves Angels' by Amy Simon
EVERYBODY LOVES ANGELS Amy Simon The very first time the Bible mentions the word “Cherub”, or the plural cherubim, is soon after the creation of the world. It is summarized in early teachings that they were originally depictions of storm deities, especially storm winds, a possible explanation for their wings. Later, this is described as acting as the chariot of the LORD in Ezekiel’s visions. As guardians, devoid of human emotion, they held duty to both represent God and guard his sanctuaries. It is here that after Adam and Eve were exiled from the Garden of Eden, the cherubim were stationed at the East end along the path that led to the Tree of Life. However, these particular cherubs are not those that we know today, small chubby benevolent babies who happen to bear wings, but a more ferocious ancestor. At their inception, as stated in scripture, these guardians of God’s work were alleged to have been a combination of characteristics. From Ezekiel’s description they reveal themselves to be compound figures, unlike any real object found in nature. They are artificial images possessing the features and properties of several different beings. Arriving, as he envisioned them, through a luminous cloud in perpetual motion as if in flames, Ezekiel was able to distinguish four beings. The cherubim had bodies of men with human faces in front, an eagle behind, a lion on the left, and an ox on the right. With hooves for feet they possessed arms that did not bend, for they were wings. These guardians carried the fire of the ever-turning sword.

  • Incarnation in Christian and Hinduism Arts Manifestation in Islamic Arts (A Comparative Study)
International Journal of Arts 2014, 4(2): 25-30 DOI: 10.5923/j.arts.20140402.01 Incarnation in Christian and Hinduism Arts Manifestation in Islamic Arts (A Comparative Study) Hasan Bolkhari Ghehi Associate Professor of University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran Abstract Incarnation theory is one of the most important Christian and Hinduism theological teachings. According to this theory, God as the most Supreme Being incarnate in human appearance. In chapter 11 of Bhagavad Gita (as a part of Mahabharata which is the greatest poem book of wisdom among Hindus), Arjuna asks Krishna (as the 8th avatar of Vishnu) to show him his real and divinity face and Krishna who is serving him as a charioteer (in a human form), reveals his real face to him. In Christianity as well, God incarnate on Jesus based on the first verses of Gospel of John. For this reason, visual arts like iconography, architecture and sculpture are sacred in these religions but in Islam and according to the verses of holy Quran, “You can never see me” is what God reply once Moses asks Him the same request of Arjuna in Bhagavad Gita. In this paper, incarnation means appearance of God in a human form. In other words, God manifest through human form. But manifestation just stays opposite to incarnation and stands for appearance of God in signs. For this reason, various parts of Quran are named "verse" (Aieh) or actually signs. Therefore, in comparative study of Christianity and Hinduism to Islam we realize that in Islam, Absolute Quality (God) never manifest in any form and no incarnation takes place.

WATCHERS OF MOUNT HERMON POSSESSING THE PORTALS The Rise and Fall of the Nephilim by Luis B. Vega [email protected] www.PostScripts.org ‘For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers...against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in High Places’. – Ephesians 6:12 The purpose of this study is to provide a visual display of the 200 Watcher class of Angels that descended on Mount Hermon during the days of Enoch on Earth. It is also to add to the body of research already done on the subject. Mount Hermon is nested in- between the political borders of Lebanon, Syria and Israel. It is exactly 1997 nautical miles to the Equator from the summit where there is presently a U.N. Radar Station. It is amazingly 33 degrees from the Equator and 33 degrees east from the Paris Meridian Line. It is exactly 333 miles to the summit of Mount Sinai in Arabia and 365 miles to the Great Pyramid in Egypt. As one can sense, the site is tied to Sacred Geometry, Sacred Knowledge and Sacred Vows. The topic of these 200 Watchers has a direct impact on why the Flood of Noah happened and how they helped to impede the Children of Israel from possessing the Promised Land afterwards. This phenomenon is also a metaphor of the real ‘wrestling’ that is occurring presently due to the effects of such demonic and Luciferian workings that are pitted against the Body of Christ on Earth presently as result of the disembodied spirits of the Giants.

By the Kabbalah and many other spiritual teachings the angels connect us to the energies of the Divine, by using the metaphor of the step down transformer-an electrical device (the angels) that decreases a high voltage source (the divine or God energy) so that it can be plugged into a lower voltage receptor (humans energy), on the other side, when we invoke, pray or appeal to the divine, the angels serve as kind of amplifiers to transmit our small and finite communication to the vast and infinite universal divine.

  • Angel Tattoos
Angel Tattoos Appropriate for both men and women, angel tattoos are most commonly associated with religious beliefs and memories of loved ones. Religious proclamations frequently feature angels as winged forms with halos or as bright lights in religious scenes or adjacent to specific passages from the Bible. Memorial angel tattoos, on the other hand, feature these winged forms holding banners or hearts inscribed with names. As eye-catching as these designs are in both color and grayscale tones, angel tattoos are classic pieces that endure the test of time. Angel Tattoos Representing Specific Religions Angel tattoos can be representative of various religions, particularly within the three largest religions in the world: Christian, Jewish and Islamic faiths. Within these religions, angels are believed to be messengers and servants of God, or another higher power, and who are made of energy. Christian Angel Tattoos: Christian angel tattoos generally depict angels as having a human forms wearing a white robes and having large wings. Christian angel tattoos may also position a halo above the head of the angel. Many of these tattoos are detailed scenes including features such as a cross, Jesus Christ and/or passages from the Bible. The most popular angel tattoos are of the archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. Jewish Angel Tattoos: In Judiasm, angels are considered to have no physical form. For a more “graphic” style Jewish angel tattoo, many choose to ink the Hebrew word for “angel” onto their skin instead of opting for pictorial designs presenting the angel as a bright light. Islamic Angel Tattoos: Islam believes that angels are messengers of the God Allah.
