Kindergarten Welcome to Week 2! We are very excited about the Book Fair and Book Fair Parade this week. We are busy in class and are really working hard during morning Literacy groups. This week our sound is “th” as in this and thumb - skinny “th” and thick “th”. We are counting to 40 this week and recognising our numbers. Our focus is simple subtraction. Have a great week! V Parnaby Year 1/2 Greetings all, this week 1/2 are doing time in Math, exploring interesting ways to learn spelling and improving our listening skills. This week’s art activity may take 1/2 by surprise! We are all looking forward to the Book Fair Parade on Thursday and I hope to see lots of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends attending this wonderful celebration. Have a great week! B Yager

Year 5/6 In Literacy this week we are focusing on recounts and completing our holiday recounts from last week. For the beginning of this term we will be discussing the importance of recounts and how they are used in many different professions. This week in Spelling we are focusing on the “s” as in stamp sound. This is a complex consonant sound as there are many ways to make this phoneme: “s” as in stamp, “ss” as in pass, “c” as in circle, “sc” as in scene, “ps” as in psycho, “st” as in listen, “se” as in course. In Mathematics we are completing our unit on Data and moving onto Chance. There will be a test on Data and Chance either Friday or early next week (depending on student understanding). On Thursday we have a fun day planned with our Education Day and Book Fair Parade. I look forward to seeing all the amazing costumes on the day! I have placed the order for our Year 6 shirts and I have been assured that the will arrive early this term. Our major excursion is coming up fast (Week 5). I have sent home notes to the students who have not yet filled out the online form for Broken Bay Sport and Recreation Centre. Please do this as soon as possible. Your child will not be allowed to attend if this has not been completed. If you are having trouble with this please contact me and I can do so with you at school. If you have any questions about the excursion (including costs) please contact me by calling the front office. Have a great week everyone! N Ptolemy
